To help you recover from the journey the babystep today is a 'catch up' one

Today's mission requires a ladder

The Christmas mission is about decluttering

Off to put the kettle on. Back in a minute

Morning, you have just made me smile. and the fat fairy would disapprove I was mysterfied as to why part two now? the other thread was only a third full you can get at least 1000 posts per thread.

List today is:

survive observation
SLEEP!

No flying today and lots of caffine.

happy flying everyone.

walkthedinosaur · 16/11/2009 07:38

DWM hope your head feels better soon

DEM best of luck with the observation, hope you got all your paperwork done.

This morning I have:-
Done breakfasts
School run
DW unloaded breakfast dishes loaded
Dining table cleaned
Sides wiped in kitchen
Laundry on line, another load in
S and S in bathroom

To do:-

Paid work
Tidy the bottles and potions in the bathroom
Dust and polish living room
DS1 to piano lesson
DS1 homework
Wax brows and tache
Dye hair

Have my job interview tomorrow for my part time job, first interview in 7 years as I've worked for myself since DS1 was born and it's all going to be in French. My French is pants, in fact it's so bad that I have no idea of the address I'm going to for the school tomorrow or the name of the headmaster, because I forgot to ask, I've had to email the woman at the education department and ask her. If I get no joy by this afternoon I'm going to have to get a French friend to call for me. Thank goodness the position is for an English language assistant I can just about manage that.

Happy flying everyone.

Annabel1 · 16/11/2009 09:34

Hello there,
Have been AWOL as put posting on mumsnet on bottom of list rather than top where it should be!
My target for today is to stop seeing what I have done as trivial against what needs to be done! Realised that as my little internal voice started saying 'it's not an impressive list, I just wrote down what I'd done and you should see the state of things.... blah, blah, blah!!!'
Enough psychobabble
Today:
up dressed etc
breakfast
painted with dd
did loo
to do:
make bed when ds wakes up (up in night - he doesn't naturally sleep til nine!
shopping centre (gulp!)
persuade dd not to see Father Christmas in early November at said shopping centre!
buy dd Xmas gift and knitting wool (to add to pile - but optimistic cos it'll be very chunky wool!)
load of washing on

make sandwiches to take to shopping centre to avoid "cafe" (our name for the golden arches!!
process washing
hoover
put away in loft clothes that ds has grown out of (no 3rd in prospect but can't let go just yet!)

optimistic lol at laundry on line. my record was two weeks. It dries, I forget, it gets wet etc!
pluto at least you are able to look at the ironing! with or without sighing
Right, dd calling - wants to make slide for her cake case people - don't ask but it's cleaner than paint!

hellsbelles · 16/11/2009 09:46

morning all

Just marking my spot so I can get back on track when better!

Bye for now.

MrsDinky · 16/11/2009 09:57

Morning everyone (Bonjour WTD),

pushmepullyou · 16/11/2009 11:25

Morning all

I have been no use whatsoever this weekend ad DD has a temp and throat thing and is generally feeling very sorry for herself!

Coffee and alkaseltzer etc was appreciated from all those kind enough to offer it on Sturday morning though

Will be back later, but must get back to work before I am found out!

Pluto · 16/11/2009 15:38

I found you!

Decided to do things first today, and then post my smuggness joy at having got some things done later. This hasn't really gone to plan though as I spent far too long in town with DS2 in his pram wasting time waiting for lifts and in lines to pay for things. Suddenly town has got very busy pre Xmas and it's quite stressful if you have a baby in tow.

Anyway today I

posted parcel and other errands in town
done 2 loads of laundry
decluttered kitchen drawer

Not very pleased with myself so will aim to do more tomorrow when babe has his weekly morning with the CM.

StillCounting · 16/11/2009 15:48

Hello, hope everyone is OK - the lists are certainly impressive today

Think I am losing my marbles because I was convinced that I had posted this morning along the lines of "posting from work so, keeping it quick but hope observation goes well (to DEM) good luck with interview tomorrow (to WalktheD) waves to everyone else type thing ....

but it's not here and it's not on previous thread so hope this one works ...

Thank you for new thread by the way Droitwich - hope your migraine has improved (and by not having too scroll up and down too much on this one - yet!!)

Well done X 10 on the filing front MrsDinky - it must feel really wonderful to be nearly at the end of it - will take that image with me if I may and run with it .....

Annabel - quite right about your target - banish all negativity ...although I know it's easier said than done. I sometimes look around my house and just want to weep frankly but am now trying to focus on the bits that are improving ....if I don't, I get all panicky and "rabbit in head-lights" and don't know what to prioritise first as it ALL seems thoroughly urgent and I'm heartily sick of it ... but small steps, small steps ....oh dear... now I've just over psycho-babbled!!

Hope your dd recovers soon PushmePullyou

Yo to Hellesbelles - get better soon ...
tibni (hope puppy recovering - for your sake as well as his - poor thing!)

An OK day at work this morning and
morning routine done
s & s done
kitchen done
sitting room clean & tidy done
second load of washing done
cleaned out gps done

to do:

French study
carry on washing and drying

Failed to do office over weekend. Have real mental block. MUST DO IT TOMORROW. Have cleared 4 hrs so no excuses ....

StillCounting · 16/11/2009 15:49

Hello Pluto - x posts

and flaps microfibre cloths at everyone else ...

dreamteamgirl · 16/11/2009 16:31

Hi everyone

Been a bad weekend here. DS went to his dad's for a night and came back much better but then got worse fast and we ended up with an ambulance out last night when I heard DS having an asthma attack in his bed at 10.30 at night. Thank god I was still up as he couldnt call out to me and I just have no idea what might have happened if I hadnt got to him with inhalers

We decided against admission as I didnt think he would benefit (hospitals are places best avoided at this time of year IMO- and I say that as someone who works in the NHS) but he sadly had another attack at 3am, poor boy!

So for me no flying, and no working, just keeping my boy near me and making sure he is ok, whilst attempting to stay awake on 3 hours sleep

PMPY Hope DD is ok

Tbni have fun with forest walks

MrsDinky you are doing brilliantly- i think you must not have been a complete novice at this?

Hello to hells and DEM WTD -GOOD LUCK hun, hope it goes briliantly

Annabel your internal monologue sounds very sensible

DWM, great work, and sod the spelling!!
I tend to agree that teh old thread was getting unweildly and making it hard for people to join in

Hellos also to SC, Ellie- so chuffed your DH was nice, Giraffe and anyone else I missed

dreamteamgirl · 16/11/2009 16:33

Forgot to hit post so time lagged cross post with SC and pluto- hi both

havingagiraffe · 16/11/2009 16:38

vv quick as must must do something useful before dinner and before DS wakes from this bonus nap I am getting.

DTG What a horrendous night/day for you and DS. Lots of love to you both, hope he feels better very soon - get an early night love.

StillCounting · 16/11/2009 16:57

Oh no Dreamteam - poor lad - how stressful for you both ... hope he is feeling a little bit better

Certainly hope you are NOT flying in these circs .... and hope you manage to get some rest soon

positiveattitudeonly · 16/11/2009 17:50

Hello everyone.

I survived a horrendous journey to London and back on Sunday, in 100mph winds and 10+ foot waves. My stomache has just about recovered now. SC - If Dramamine is something to put you to sleep and keep your stomache in place then I would have taken a handfull!!! A fantastic day, though. Worth the 5am start!

DWM - Hope the migraine has lifted and you are feeling better.

WTD - Good luck with the job interview tomorrow. Hold your head up high and feel confident in your abilities.

Mrs Doolittle - I love the idea of designer duvet covers. You have to have the every decreasing circling of paw prints as they find a snuggly place, which would then turn into a dirty mushy colour as said place is pawed into the correct position. Then the caked in matted black fur from the scratching and cleaning routine, just for added texture. Do you think we could make a fortune with these???

Tibni - Hope no more doggy sick! Yuck!!!

DTG - Hope DS is feeling better soon.

Waves to DEM, Hellsbelles, Annabel, Elliepac, pluto, Mrs Dinky, Giraffe and anyone else I have missed.

This morning I was determined to get things sorted before the arrival of the workmen, so up at 5.30 to do:

Dishwasher
Clean all the surfaces
Sort 2 loads of clothes
iron school uniforms
Sandwiches x6
and lots of things that I ahve forgotten now!!

Then a phone call from the workmen to say that they would not be in today! I could have got up at 7 and not been stressed out by breakfast time!!

Anyway, off to sort out tea for Dh who has just walked through the door. Have a good evening everyone. Anyone got the chocolate cake out??

positiveattitudeonly · 16/11/2009 17:51

I went away Saturday, not Sunday, why did I type that????

MrsDinky · 16/11/2009 18:15

Hi again

DTG hope DS feels better soon, how awful.

PMPY hope DD also better soon
Annabel and SC - I get that panic thing too, then I fritter away valuable time being all indecisive about what really needs doing, or just sit here reading Mumsnet to avoid making a decision.

Tibni - impressive list today

Hello to everyone else too. Now, as has been pointed out, I am going for this, I really am new to FLYing, but am naturally quite a controlfreak organising sort of person. The reason I am getting so much done is that I was made redundant in Sept, so have gone from being out of the house 11 hours a day, three days a week, to not working at all, and DD is still at nursery for three days (DS is at school). So I am relatively rich in home alone time compared to most people. I am planning to get another job at some stage, so want to really crack on with the backlog of decluttering while I can (also DCs birthdays are both just after Crimbo, so need to space for the onslaught of tat that will surely engulf the house).

Breakfast / clear-up - done
Assemble packed lunches - done
Kids to school/pre-school - done
Cobweb dusting - done
5 minute clearout of DD's room as per mission (no guest room here) - done
S+S, plus clean bathroom floor
Washing - on
Filing - managed 2 hours last night
Go to shops - done, also went to tip.

Bathroom got missed, as cobweb sweeping also took in top of wardrobe sweeping, at which point I decided to put away my not currently needed work clothes into a vacuum bag, and ended up decluttering the whole wardrobe, resulting in 5 carrier bags of stuff to charity shop.

I have been to the tip 5 times, plus about 2 xcar boot loads to charity shops this month and yet the house doesn't really look much different

Annabel1 · 16/11/2009 18:49

evening all:
make bed when ds wakes up (up in night - he doesn't naturally sleep til nine!done
shopping centre (gulp!)done
persuade dd not to see Father Christmas in early November at said shopping centre!done although millies cookie instead!
buy dd Xmas gift and knitting wool (to add to pile - but optimistic cos it'll be very chunky wool!)done but no wool cos wrong colour
load of washing on done

make sandwiches to take to shopping centre to avoid "cafe" (our name for the golden arches!!doneish had boots sandwich and dd rice cakes banana etc - no bread in the house!
process washing done hung out
hoover
put away in loft clothes that ds has grown out of (no 3rd in prospect but can't let go just yet!)not done

no chocolate cake, positiveattitude but some hot choc with marshmallows going begging
dtg hope ds better - how horrible for you both
hope dd on the mend, pushmepullyou
hope you survived training day, tibni
and dwm hope head better
And hello all.
By the way, reading Nigella the other day and in one section she credits "Hetty who helps with the children" so, begrudging no one any help they have, just remember that it is hard to be a domestic goddess alone!

elliepac · 16/11/2009 19:01

Evening my lovelies,

Well, am I glad Monday is over. Has been a good day though. Bad news is my DSis and Mum have both got pig flu (they are ok though) but that means I have to take DNiece to see Scrooge the Musical tomorrow night. Am quite excited, it's been a long time since I went to the theatre (unless panto counts ).

MrsDinky I bet there is a difference in your house with amount of stuff being taken out, at least you deserve a smug smile to yourself when you think of your decluttered wardrobe

PA glad you survived the horrific journey and had a good time. I am still traumatised from an horrific ferry journey on way to Italy when I was at school.. never been on one since (obviously it was only 7 years since I left school ).

DTG I really hope your poor DS is feeling better soon. What a horrible night for you.

SC Good Luck with the office . It can't be that bad can it?

Pluto am with you on town with a baby. It's an absolute nightmare and to be avoided at all costs. You deserve some kind of medal

PMPY hope DD is feeling better soon

tibni Wow, what a day. Hope you managed to get out of the house for a walk!

Annabel and OM lol at the washing too. I can't actually see the washing line from kitchen so am always forgetting it. In fact, as I sit here typing remembered I put something out yesterday and it is still there

WTD sending lots of luck wafting across the Channel for the interview tomorrow

Einstein hope the observation went well, nothing like that feeling in the pit of your stomach before they start and that doesn't change no matter how long you've been teaching .

DWM Thanks for the thread...you are doing a sterling job.

Big waves to OM, Hells, HAG, MM and anyone else she has missed.

AM going to go and put dinner on. Have done a quick tidy round, put DW on, washing in drier and another load on. Think that's enough for me tonight.

Take Care!

MiniMarmite · 16/11/2009 19:21

Just checking in to say hello and quickly scan posts...we've been away for the weekend so not much flying here.

DTG poor you and DS. I hope he is feeling better now and that you are not too shaken by it all x

DidEinsteinsMum · 16/11/2009 19:48

Just a quick note to let you know that as far as my tutor is concerned he is happy so i passed the observation despite canceling the practical part way through due to being dangerous and the class being a bunch of animals due to being confined indoors at lunch.

Exercising the fat fairy's early night principle and heading for bed at same time as ds tonight (about 8.30pm) Promise to catch up soon

Waves tiredly to all

Night.

MiniMarmite · 16/11/2009 19:49

Well done DEM have a good sleep x

elliepac · 16/11/2009 20:38

Well done DEM you deserve an early night
