Are we all ok?

To help you recover from the journey the babystep today is a 'catch up' one

Today's mission requires a ladder

The Christmas mission is about decluttering

Off to put the kettle on. Back in a minute

OP posts:
positiveattitudeonly · 27/11/2009 19:07

WTD Answer on other thread, from Billy!

MiniMarmite · 27/11/2009 19:09

just a sneaky peek while DH is reading DS a bedtime story.

Ellie have a great night out, you deserve it and I'm sure you will look fab

Tibni good luck with the job interview on Tuesday (and very excited that you made this weeks MN round-up too)

A few of you have been saying about how you feel the way you live has moved forward and I have to agree. Even though I've been very bad on the decluttering lately I've been able to skip a lot of the babystep re-learning this month as they are already part of my routine and I was really amazed pleased when both bedside tables were already clear the other day.

I've been summoned now for DS's bf. Then wine and general slobbery methinks.

Have a good evening everyone x

droitwitchmum · 28/11/2009 06:19

Good morning all! Not sure if the thread was quiet last night as your were all in bed early or were enjoying date night

Babystep today has some good advice on making sure you eat properly.

No missions as its the weekend.

Back later - got to take DH to work so DS and I can have the car today.

Have a good morning

OP posts:
MrsDinky · 28/11/2009 08:40

Hello, quiet from me due to DH being on the PC a lot upgrading it.

Eating properly is not my strong point, I used to take nice healthy packed lunches to work with lots of salad and fruit, since I have been at home I have noticed that I am tending to just shovel in some toast at lunchtime, need to sort myself out a bit there.

On the plus side food wise, my menu planning worked out well, I have not been to Sainsburys since Mon (did a top up of fruit at greengrocers and bread and milk in M&S but that's all).

Got to go, DCs swimming lessons this morning.

droitwitchmum · 28/11/2009 08:57

Any help with menu planning gratefully received. Need to shop today ready for the week and thyink I ought to plan first

Lordy, DWM, that is a mammoth list. Good luck .

Had a fabulous night last night, lots of good food, good wine and girlies from work made for a lovely evening.

Back to reality now though. It is a foul day here, not the kind of day where you want to go out really but needs must (am like Mother HUbbard at the moment). So list for today looks like this:-

Washing on
DW on
General tidy
S/S bathroom
Tesco
Present for DS friend
Take DS to birthday party (bouncy castle, it's throwing it down with rain/sleet here . Don't envy the mum on that one)
Set up new internet/phone connection (if am not here for a while it's because I went hideously wrong )
Hotspot in hall
Drink wine while watching x-factor

Have a great day everyone.

Good grief DWM that list is long! And at the weekend too! Good luck!

Ellie - Glad the night out was good.

Front lounge is as dust free as I can get it. I scrubbed the floor again this morning and think it is better now. Some of the covers are not quite dry yet so can't put them back on the sofa until tonight, or maybe in the morning.

Kitchen - Floor scrubbed, fridge/freezer cleaned inside and out. Dishwasher outside scrubbed. All my storage jars and things that have been out on the tops have had a treat and been in the dishwasher this morning. All surfaces totally scrubbed.

I've done the weekend shopping, spent way too much money and forgot too many things.

Off for a luxurious soak in the bath with a good book. When I get out I may try to get ahead of my list and dive into the dining room and get that done too.

X -factor and a glass of .....chilled water.....I will join you later Ellie. - an evening of loads of texts between me and DD1, who lives away from home. We watch it "together" and discuss every step. I love it! (the conversations, not particularly x-factor, although its good for a laugh!)

Waves to everyone else, have a good weekend.

Wave to everyone else

Pluto · 28/11/2009 14:15

I have a self-induced headache today so not much getting done. I have however...

ironed a lot of expensive maternity wear that I want to try and sell so I can buy myself some new boots

loaded / unloaded d/w endless times and sort of tidied the kitchen

got Ds1 to tidy his bedroom

to do:

take more paracetamol in about 2 hours
take clothes off airer and create yet another pile of ironing
process rest of laundry
fresh sheets on beds
write Xmas cards
early night after X Factor

positiveattitudeonly · 28/11/2009 14:20

Sorry about the self-induced headache Pluto. Go and sleep, watch trash tv or just put your feet up. Flying is dangerous with a hangover!! Come and join me with the water tonight. After my self-induced torture last weekend no more proper stuff for me for a while - I know I said never, but that may have been a bit hasty!

tibni · 28/11/2009 16:07

wow! I made it onto round up! Shall I add it to my CV? I'm sad enough to have text my MN mate to tell her - then I had to add that it wasn't for any meaningful or profound reason!

Spent more time in the office - doesn't look much better but there is getting less junk!

Puppy seems much better thanks - after 2 injections and 2 different medications for the next week and a £50 vets bill! We have cancelled his training session for this week but he is fine in himself now.

I have had a charity bag through the door so I am going to see if I can fill it before Monday.

ds (ASD) has managed to pull the L and C key off PC keyboard - laptop not bak from repair yet! Looks like I will be buying a £5 keyboard from poundstretcher until this habit passes - he is nearly 9 and needs his space sometimes, it wouldn't be fair to watch him all the time. It is impulse rather than bad behaviour due to his lack of communication and frustration. These periods never last long and usually correspond to a development spurt.

Have a good weekend all

StillCounting · 28/11/2009 17:10

Hello everyone!!

[Hands more paracetemol to Pluto - hope you are feeling better)

Just dashing in as everything seems to have sort of exploded here in terms of things to do ...; Christmas is suddenly not very far away ...[rabbit in headlights emoticon]and lots of social events every weekend between then and now such as church/school/fetes and drinks parties and 'must see you before Christmas' type commitments

Aaarggghhh - starting to panic

Trying to make my Christmas cakes this weekend ...but can't track down glacé cherries over here very easily ...

And I haven't started my cards
Have bought and wrapped about half the presents
Still some to order - oh dear...
Home office not decluttered in time for card-writing or parcel wrapping so using dining room table which is NOT good ...as very stop/start - must try and clear desk space in office even if just localised area

House all of a sudden untidy although it was all in order yesterday

Morning routine + s&s done
Washing on (x2) done
Dishwasher done
Present wrapped done
DD ballet and back done
DD party and back nearly done
lunch cooked done

To do:
order last of presents online - work in prog
stationery order
tidy master bedroom
tidy sitting room
sort through one box of old papers
change beds
help dd with homework

Make Christmas cakes!!

Well done on your w/e blitz PA and enjoy your evening

Your list is incredible today Droitwich!! More power to your elbow!!

Prob. too late but with regard to meal planning, I have one copied on to a word document I would be happy to send you if you have anonymous e-mail account (it was the one LittleLapin circulated years ago)

And/or, more ideas and info on these threads:

and there is a meal planning section under "recipes" on this site although it's not very inspiring:

Glad you had a good night out Elliepac -

Good news about your teaching days WtD - you'll be brilliant!

Hello to MrsDinky, tibni, MM and everyone else

Busy day tomorrow so probably see everyone on Monday ...hope you have a lovely Sat eve and a relaxing Sunday ...

walkthedinosaur · 28/11/2009 17:34

Hello everyone, lousy crappy weather here, I hate Brittany in winter all grey and miserable.

A bit of a busy day have quite a bit of paid work to do this weekend so keep getting on with that when I can.

Have managed to hoover the dining room and mop kitchen floors.
DH has just about finished tiling the hall floor and it looks fab so we'll be able to move the books and bookcase back into there as it was doing my head in, in the living room.
Me and DS's have all been to the hairdressers and had hair cut
DW on
DS2 has had a little friend over for a couple of hours on a play date, so three little boys running around like loons playing Ben 10 - so if you've got any of those paracetamol left Pluto hand em over.
Lasagne in oven.
Bottle of wine in fridge, intend to do paid work till 9.00 and then me and DH have a snuggle on sofa while I fall asleep and he watches a film

Tomorrow must remember to make order from The Book People, if anyone are looking for a present for a boy they've got 6 Alex Ryder books on audio CD for £9.99, my DC's love listening to stories as they drop off to sleep. Maybe make Amazon order at the same time and get it all out of the way. Good news is we can open our advent calendars on Tuesday and mine's from Thorntons, chocolate every day for breakfast bliss.

See you all later have a good weekend.

MiniMarmite · 28/11/2009 19:03

Wow! Everyone seems to be very busy - hope you are all having a well-deserved night off. Glad puppy is a bit better Tibni. Hope your head feels less sore this evening Pluto.

I had quite a productive day in the end yesterday. Bought a few Christmas presents and got quite a bit of cleaning in the evening even though one of our neighbours came over to spend the evening drinking beer with DH - I just worked around them!

We've had a really lovely day today too as we had some good friends over to brunch. I was pretending a bit as I had already had breakfast having been up since 7 but they are young and no kids yet so I'm sure they hadn't been up for long!

Having a chill-out evening with DH and going to try to go to bed at a reasonable hour. Not much flying going to happen tomorrow as we're visiting relatives all day.

SC I thought of your old nickname this morning when I found a long grey hair - not sure how it had gone unnoticed for all that time.

MiniMarmite · 28/11/2009 19:05

oh, meant to ask those of you that don't enjoy menu planning. Would it help if the people who enjoy menu planning posted their menus for the week for a few weeks?

Even though I like it I would still benefit from getting ideas from others

walkthedinosaur · 28/11/2009 19:45

MM that's a fab idea - in our house it's spag bol, chilli, lasagne, shepherd's pie.

Can you see the theme?

pushmepullyou · 28/11/2009 21:51

SC and DWM - you are too organised and it is scaring me!

One baby birthday party down, one to go now!

Well done making it on to round up tibni! I was quote of the week a few weeks ago and got unreasonably over excited by it!

See you all on the other side of birthday party hell excitement!

droitwitchmum · 28/11/2009 22:00

I know you have been waiting for it, so here is, the link to December's thread

That's another thing ticked off on my white board....

Get going to mark your place

OP posts:
MrsDinky · 28/11/2009 22:14

Evening all,

I feel as though I have lost my way a bit the last couple of days, am going to not worry about it for the rest of the weekend and get back to it on Monday. DCs are veering from hyperactive to crashingly tired and back at the moment, resulting in short tempered parents!

Have kept up with washing, DW etc but not done much else flying wise for the last couple of days.

My menu planning is very flexible, with the freezer being the key, I double up on a lot of stuff and freeze it, trouble is I never know what time DH will be home and hence whether we can all eat together or not until quite late in the day. Also, DCs have fairly limited preferences compared to me and DH. I freeze everything in portions big enough for two of them or one of us, so we can be flexible. I get most of my recipes from BBC Good Food magazine/website. anyway, I am rambling. Have a lovely rest of the evening.

droitwitchmum · 29/11/2009 06:41

Good morning!

Like the babystep today
This is the link she refers to

Now - what is left of my mamoth list..
sort washing from yesterday
menu planning and shopping list
shopping - not taken DH to work (too tired) so no car, might do it on-line
go to tip - when DH gets home. Will bag it up ready
library done - renewed on-line
home blessing
hotspots - dining table, my side of the bed
15 mins tidying up lounge
throw out all bills more than 12 months old
put washing away
more advent calendar sewing
DS 10 mins reading
s&s
shine sink
bed

and we need to deliver some advent calendars this afternoon when DH comes home

See you all later

OP posts:
elliepac · 29/11/2009 13:04

Good day all,

Managed to achieve everything I set out to do yesterday. Having a very lazy day today. Currently at DSis's relaxing while DC's play.

Very tired today due to drunk DH rolling in at 3am and waking me up and keeping me awake for a couple of hours. Will let him off as he does only go out very rarely but wasn't saying that in the early hours of the morning.

Will be back on later. Have a nice Sunday afternoon everyone.

DidEinsteinsMum · 29/11/2009 21:25

hope you have all had a nice weekend. some of you have been far too busy for a weekend with the family but that's life sometimes.

Waves to all.

right have finished bar one present (ds to ex) the christmas shopping, done most of the christmas cards (all of ds' to his friends most of my family) have rest of my family left and ds' family (ex's side) to do but not many cards. Secret santa thing mostly done, present for friend abroad thought about and started.

Sorted the toy stack, doing the laundry weekly monster not good at keeping on top of this. Folded what is clean and need to put it away with the ironing done. Need to make up ds' routine cards for bedtime in an attempt to sort out the bedtime routine. Printed so just need to laminate. then back to trying to sort out that chaos and crisis that is this house and the planning that i have yet to look at.

Hope you are all doing much better keep flying.

pushmepullyou · 29/11/2009 22:01

Evening all

We're uncharacteristically quiet tonight! Hope that's because everybody is having lovely Sundays

Very busy weekend here with 2 birthday parties for DD! one was a post natal group one for lots of babies and today's was her very own! She has had a fab time and eaten far too much rubbish. My crocheted lentils have gone by the wayside for pom bears and chocolate brownies

Can't believe how easy it was to get the house ready for guests and also to clean up afterwards. It sounds a bit melodramatic but this thread and its assocated cleaning have really changed my life!

Anyway off for a much needed glass of wine. Bottle's on the side if anyone swings by and fancies a glass!
