Are we all ok?

To help you recover from the journey the babystep today is a 'catch up' one

Today's mission requires a ladder

The Christmas mission is about decluttering

Off to put the kettle on. Back in a minute

Evening all. I didn't have time to post over the weekend but am pleased to report that taking a leaf out of WTD book, I managed to get DH to do some jobs that have been niggling away for the past few months!

Well done DEM! Have cake /wine/ whatever else takes your fancy. i agree with Ellie about the pit of the stomach thing not going away!

Glad you managed your boat trip PA. I was thinking about you over the weekend and wondering...

DTG - poor you! I hope your DS is OK now. DS2 has asthma and it is very frightning when an attack happens...

General 'hi' to everyone on the thread.
Not much flying here today but I am proud to announce that I made some Christmas chutney after work. . It smells lovely I must say. (If a bit vinegary...)Please sound suitably impressed if you will!!

See you all tomorrow....

droitwitchmum · 17/11/2009 06:43

Good morning everyone

Not much flying going on here. I think I'm getting a cold or something. Bed early AGAIN last night and I'm still tired.
Coffee and tea ready though. Now where are those links....

Christmas mission is planning and playing
Babystep is getting to bed on time
Missions for the week. I've had to put a slightly different link in because the flylady site people have put testimonials where today's mission should be.

OM I'm impressed with the chutney.
DEM well done with your mammoth list

Back to catch up with everyone else in a minute

Morning all, DTG I hope your DS is feeling much better, how terrifying for you both.

OM glad your DH managed to get some jobs done.

And well done DEM on passing, must be such a relief after all that hard work.

And big hello to everybody else.

No flying for me today, I've got my interview this morning, face made up, first time I've put a pair of tights on in a million years, dictionary in bag. I'm hoping it goes well, a positive note is from what I can gather I am the only person they've found for it.

Will be working this afternoon to make up for lost time this morning.

Hope you all have a good day flying.

pushmepullyou · 17/11/2009 10:23

Morning all

DTG how terrifying for you all. Hope your DS is feeling much better this morning!

DD is definitely feeling better thankfully, although she has been up since half 5 and is still a bit of a grump!

tibni hope puppy is also better. My cat threw up a mouses head complete with eyes at the weekend, which gazed at me reproachfully from a pile of sick when I went downstairs on Sunday morning [bleurgh]

CTG good luck with the office. I have to get back on the wagon as well today so we will both have to

Great news about the observation DEM. Surely if you cancelled the practical due to being unsafe then that's professional and suitably responsible and the best thing you could have done in the circumstances!

MrsDinky empathise on the tip trips. I seem to go nearly every day at the moment, but there appears to have been no visible difference to date.

ellie hope you had a good night last night. I love the theatre but don't get to go much anymore.

Hi to WTD, Annabel, DM and OM and everyone else I've missed. Very impressed with chutney making!

Today I need to:

stack dishwasher - done
unstack dishwasher
Washing * 3 - 1 done
morning routine - done
Some paid work - started
Clean sink and loo
bleach shower curtain
clean shower hose thingy
bleach some grout

lots of other stuff too, but I'll see how it goes for now!

MrsDinky · 17/11/2009 10:35

Morning all,

Good luck today WTD. OM - inspired by your chutney I peeled my onions for pickling for Christmas last night, now the whole house smells of onions
DWM hope your cold doesn't develop! Mine has been short and sharp
Also managed another filing session last night, tonight should finish it, hoorah!

Waves at everyone else

Today

DW on and counters wiped - done
Washing on - done
S+S - done
DS to school - done
Take repeat prescription to Drs - done
Take DD out somewhere
Washing on line
Dusting hall, dining, front rooms - done
Hoover downstairs
Mission in bathroom, luckily we've only got one and no laundry room, have counted hoovering preparation as my 5 minutes de-trashing another room

As for the babystep, I keep telling myself to go to bed at 10.30, but it always seems to be closer to midnight, sighs

Pluto · 17/11/2009 13:12

Congrats DEM and good luck WTD DTG - poor DS! I hope he's making a good recovery. I have some idea of the trauma, my DS1 was hospitilsed with asthma when he was 3, it was so frightening at the time. He manages well with it now and it isn't really a big deal but DS2 (9 months) has a cough and I'm totally paranoid he's going to develop asthma as well

So today's list...

back into town to finish jobs not done yesterday done

d/w on and unloaded done

wrap DS1's birthday presents
s/s
fold / iron laundry
tidy DS2's bedroom and hassle Ds1 into doing his
look at today's mission
make chick pie for supper
tidy , dust and hoover spare room

StillCounting · 17/11/2009 15:05

Just popping in to say "hi" before hoardes of six year olds descend ....we are going to be decorating muffins with obligatory pink icing, smarties and multi-coloured sprinkles this afternoon... I may need a bucket of wine later ...

Hope you feel better soon Droitwich

Well done on your observation DEM

and we are rooting for you WalktheD!!!

Those are impressive lists MrsDinky Annabel and Pluto

Bless me PushmePullyou for I have sinned - I am so cross with myself - I cleared four hours to do office today and ended up frittering away the time doing French study instead ....

No excuses - I had an opportunity to do it and I FAILED big time ....

That's 4 hrs I'll never get back ...

Added to that laundry is now starting to pile up again as washing machine won't spin and tumble dryer showing fault code "C6" - can't find booklet - so no idea how to fix ...!!

HOPELESS ridiculous incompetence from the StillCounting household .... grrrrrrrr.....

StillCounting · 17/11/2009 15:07

Sorry - forgot to say "hello" to everyone else too!!!

Dreamteam how is your ds today?

MiniMarmite · 17/11/2009 15:13

Is this your dryer SC?

Been to work

Washing x2
Supper
Room rescued my bedroom!

Got to go to a meeting at school later so may not be on till tomorrow when I will have to get on with this week's missions and some Christmas shopping.

Am very excited about the chutney (sorry to go on) as both DS1 and DH said it was better than the leading brand! . I did rather feel when I read my last post about it that I ought to really get a life!!!

optimisticmumma · 17/11/2009 17:51

Sorry - meant to say a big hi and wave to everyone else on the thread.

pushmepullyou · 17/11/2009 18:04

Sorry about the sudden exit - DD is very excited by keyboards at the moment!

OM nothing to apologise for re the chutney. I love a bit of preserving myself - sometimes more successfully than others. Piccallily is a favourite at our house at the moment.

SC I have the same problem with my attic. perhaps what we are doing wring is clearing ourselves an intimidating amount of time to clean in. Maybe we should start babystepping the rooms until they become less daunting (could take a while in my case )

Annabel1 · 17/11/2009 18:13

Post later, but just to say, hope interview went well wtd.
Have lots of jars but nothing to put in them!

By the way, thought I'd done little in bedroom until I walked back in twenty mins later and saw how much better it was

MiniMarmite · 17/11/2009 19:50

Evening everyone

Am having a complete panic this evening. My friend is coming to stay tomorrow night and house is looking dreadful. DH has been buying new furniture and emtpying drawers etc. and is now out until late putting things in storage. Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

I can't complain too much to be honest because I have cleaners before then but I think it is too messy to clean at the moment.

So in the spirit of a previous list from Ellie:

  • S&S - done
  • make beds - done
  • Panic - done
  • Panic - in progress
  • tidy dinner things
  • unload DS
  • load DS
  • hang washing out
  • clear kitchen surfaces
  • find new places for things from drawers to live
  • tidy lounge, hallways, bathrooms, bedroom
  • tidy DS bedroom - done
  • fold away dry washing
  • put away work things
  • get slow cooker ready for the morning
  • clothes for the morning for DS and me
  • replace beyond manky shower curtain (thanks for the reminder PMPY
  • shine sink

Well done WTD
and well done chutney makers - yum

Right, less posting more doing (me that is)...

MrsDinky · 17/11/2009 20:00

Good luck MM!

Impressive list Annabel, I tjnk you're right, a finite amount of cleaning seems so much easier to face

OM I am feeling the urge to make chutney now!

Hello to everyone else

Managed pretty well today

S+S - done
DS to school - done
Take repeat prescription to Drs - done

One last go at the filing tonight. Tomorrows list is going to contain make a superhero outfir and make a pirate outfit, both for DD, gulp.

walkthedinosaur · 17/11/2009 20:53

Blimey how busy have you lot been? Well done all of you. No flying for me today as I've only just finished my paid work as I've had to make up the time tonight, but all finished now so a lovely day off tomorrow with the DC's.

Well very good news on the interview front, I got the job, in fact I had it before I even walked through the door, it was a case of are you the new language assistant, OK well here's the English Department, meet the staff, see you next week. I never knew a TEFL was such a prestigious achievement.

Bit scary, I'm going to be doing English conversation with students aged from 11 to early 20's, in a classroom on my own. Fortunately I love talking and I'm proficient in English.

Right am off to load the dishwasher and pack swimming bags for in the morning and than maybe that bucket of wine SC was about to sink into.

See you all tomorrow when I'll be very motivated to fly.

pushmepullyou · 17/11/2009 21:40

Yay WTD!!!

Fab news, much more exciting than flying!

One of my friends did a TEFL course and taught English in Japan for a few years. She loved it and I'm sure you will too .

droitwitchmum · 17/11/2009 22:02

Just peeking in before bed.

It must be the day for getting jobs - fantastic news for you WTD and for my DH who has a job to start on December 1st. He has been out of proper work since the beginning of July - just some casual work a coupolle of days a week since.

Very little flying here again today but I have managed some ironing and the WM is on with load no 2 for this evening. Think I know what the problem is though - I've a meeting at work tomorow that I'm not at all ready for and I think it is stressing me somewhat. Hopefully I'll be flying again by tomorrow night when it's over.

See you in the morning - early start - I MUST get the v early train so I can get this meeting sorted

OP posts:
MiniMarmite · 17/11/2009 22:14

Great news WTD and DWM, so pleased

Have managed most of the things on my list (but have to confess that some things were randomly stuffed in a cupboard in desperation). Have some clothes to fold, tomorrow's clothes to get ready and still need to do the shower curtain (might do tomorrow).

Planning to get to bed at a sensible time as recommended by the fat fairy!

Night all x

pushmepullyou · 17/11/2009 22:54

Yay for your DH too DWM

Right bed for me I think. Night all

droitwitchmum · 18/11/2009 06:22

Good morning all! Its so windy here today the cats don't want to go out.

Links for today:
babystep is here - a reading one today
mission is here - wiping down in bathroom and rescue mission in home office
and the Christmas mission is about cards.

Its anti-procrastination day - how appropriate for me getting into gear for this meeting this morning and back flying later!

I'm posting a small list for this evening
15 mins ironing
put washing away
10 mins rescue in spare room
s&s
wipe down in bathroom
shine sink
bed on time

Have a good day today

OP posts:
positiveattitudeonly · 18/11/2009 07:09

Well done WTD and good luck with todays meeting DWM.

Just on for a quick look before I get going this morning. Yep, the wind is certainly howling here too.

Another sort-of morning off today due to asbestos in the office. Can't stay at home cos of workers here, so off to my other office to try and catch up and have a chilled morning. Out for lunch with a mate as long as she is well enough.

I need a real kick up the bum to get me moving this morning, feeling VERY sluggish. Off to make sandwiches, or perhaps they can all have school dinners/canteen meal today, I really can't be bothered. I need a duvet day. Roll on the day when my house becomes my home again with noone else here!

Will catch up later with how much I have not managed to get done today!
