its a 9 in 1 steam mop and it is the most fun ive had cleaning in ages! my home is now hygienically steamed....no mean feat with dogs, cats, rats, kids....

its this one

its fab.
its got emulsion of window frames, the cupboard fronts were so easy it was a joy, the hob, the stainless steel splashback, the fridge, the floors, the tiles, the shower door.....all sparkling and done in seconds.

it was a cleaning revelation.
im now addicted to steaming stuff....including my thumb...which is dont recommend cos that hurts.

the reviews are not wrong on this one....
(morphy richards - commission please!)

I've just orderd the vax one yesterday. I was torn between the two. Have I made a mistake?

this one

EBearhug · 25/05/2014 16:17

I like my steam mop, too, though it's not the Morphy Richards one.

I have to admit that the novelty of cleaning stuff has subsided a little, though. < Looks vaguely guiltily at kitchen floor >

qwertybirdie · 25/05/2014 16:18

Why do none of the retailers accept PayPal?! Angry

LakeFlyPie · 25/05/2014 16:22

Am so relieved that I've already got one or you'd have talked me into a purchase.
It is great isn't it.
Fine on wooden floors IME whosafraid

TheOriginalNutcracker · 25/05/2014 16:23

Ohhhh that sounds fab, but i just last week bought a little hand held steamer. It's not great though, stuff still takes some scrubbing with with the steam.

How easily does dirt come off stuff with the MR one ?? Floor tile grout for example, would it clean straight up ?

D0oinMeCleanin · 25/05/2014 16:23

I had that Vax one Viva, I luffed it. I used it daily for two weeks, then it broke, then I sent it off to be repaired, used it lots, put it away and it would not work the next time I got it out.

I agreed to leave it with ex in return for being allowed the vax vaccuum which is also shite and needs replacing. I've out this one on my wish list.

I wonder how long it will take ex to realise that it's broken again? Hmm

flamineckpip · 25/05/2014 16:25

I would love one of these. I mentioned it to my MIL (she's anal about cleaning) who turned her nose up and said "I just use hot water and cleaning fluid and my hands" I said "well if I had a husband who had been taught how to pick up after himself and pee IN the toilet rather than around it I wouldn't need a steam mop."

VivaLeBeaver · 25/05/2014 16:35

Hope my Vax one lasts longer. It seems to get good reviews.

BuzzardBird · 25/05/2014 16:35

Did you purchase the £58 one or the newer model for £70?

ShoeWhore · 25/05/2014 16:45

Is it any good for cleaning carpets?

onedev · 25/05/2014 16:50

I've never had a steam cleaner - are they good / easy to use?

StillaChocoholic · 25/05/2014 17:06

Just asked DH to buy this for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

Indith · 25/05/2014 17:10

I was just eying that one up on appliances online today. I want it. Need to persuade dh.

BuzzardBird · 25/05/2014 17:18

How much on Appliances Online Indith?

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/05/2014 18:47

i bought the cheaper version - it actually got better reviews than the updated and more expensive model.

they dont clean carpets but they do refresh the pile - i have a new long pile rug and it brings the pile back up on that, also i used it yesterday where a bedside table had been to refresh the pile on the carpet.

i just adore the hand held steamer function - it does windows, plastic window frames, shower doors, round taps, everything - it comes with so many attachments you can get into all the nooks and crannies....

its way better than others i have used and not as costly.

i have bought ionised water too so it doesnt furr up as i live in a very hard water area.

Think it was 61 on ao. Not sure though as I was looking at a few. Dh is mocking my desire for one. Humph.

VivaLeBeaver · 25/05/2014 19:35

I haven't dared tell dh I've ordered one, he'd snigger. I'm not exactly house proud but am hoping this turns me into a domestic goddess.

Nousernameforme · 25/05/2014 20:31

I've been after one of these and have some spare money in a couple of weeks how does it work does it need plugging in or is it on a charger

VivaLeBeaver · 25/05/2014 20:41

I think they all need plugging in.

Indith · 25/05/2014 20:43

That one plugs in but you can get cordless ones.

ForgiveMeFather · 25/05/2014 20:51

Is there a specific attachment that will target grouting between tiles?

Indith · 25/05/2014 20:52

Dh doesn't seem supportive. So far this month we have spent vast amounts of money on such things as surveyor and mortgage fees due to our fix ending and remortgaging, vast amounts of money on a trip to London We are doing next weekend because ds1 won a competition, the car was due it's service and insurance. ....... This may be a little much for my tight fisted Yorkshireman to take.

I'd do the whole I am a woman roar financial independence thing but I'm a full time student and therefore Hemorrhage money to the childminder and interesting textbooks faster than dh can earn it.

Maybe next month.

alemci · 25/05/2014 20:55

Yes I bought this too. Very good but I tend to use the main cleaner.

you can buy a hose attachment to make it easier to use hand held steamer. Has anyone bought this? Is it worth it.

D0oinMeCleanin · 25/05/2014 21:50

Steam cleaners deodorise carpets and fabrics too. That's why I want one. To keep the doggy smell at bay now I have mainly carpets.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 25/05/2014 21:59

I have this one too and it's really good. The only thing I found is the cord s a bit short so I have to use an extension lead with it but it's not a major issue. I used to detest mopping, now I can power through all the hard floors in my house in no time. I never though to use it on the oven though, so that'll be next Grin.
