its a 9 in 1 steam mop and it is the most fun ive had cleaning in ages! my home is now hygienically steamed....no mean feat with dogs, cats, rats, kids....

its this one

its fab.
its got emulsion of window frames, the cupboard fronts were so easy it was a joy, the hob, the stainless steel splashback, the fridge, the floors, the tiles, the shower door.....all sparkling and done in seconds.

it was a cleaning revelation.
im now addicted to steaming stuff....including my thumb...which is dont recommend cos that hurts.

the reviews are not wrong on this one....
(morphy richards - commission please!)

How effective is it on grotty grouting please?

thegrowlygus · 28/05/2014 22:40

And now I've ordered a steam mop.

MeAndMySpoon · 28/05/2014 22:55

any idea about my wooden floors? Smile

Devora · 28/05/2014 22:58

I absolutely love my steam mop - I now clean the kitchen floor every day, which I have to admit never, ever happened before Blush

It doesn't have a hand held attachment, though. I see a few others have asked for recommendations, but we don't seem to have any. So here's a last appeal, with big wistful eyes.

RubyGoat · 28/05/2014 23:01

I now officially have steam mop envy. DH thinks I'm a complete nutjob!

Melodygrace · 29/05/2014 16:37

Mine came today! Have to say I'm disappointed. Didn't do windows well had to use magic cloth. Didn't get water marks off shower door. Hand held thingy is so heavy! Steamed the carpets it looks like iv done nothing. Just look the same. I was so excited as well!

Devora · 29/05/2014 17:15

Ah, the tide is turning and the backlash begins Grin. Soon this thread will be besieged by disappointed steamers. Vicar, you'd better get your running shoes on...

gorionine · 29/05/2014 17:41

I'a still waiting for mine.
[wonders if she can just hide posts from Melodygrace]Grin

LIZS · 29/05/2014 17:45

If you just want a floor mop then lidl have one for £28. It took a bit of practice to find the right attachment for the right job. Also you don't need to fully fill it for handheld.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 29/05/2014 17:45

I wanted this one. Didn't take much prompting, just ordered Grin We should have a steam mop convention Grin

Melodygrace · 29/05/2014 19:21

lol let me know what you think when yours arrives. Everyone else seems to love them!

Bluetubchairs · 29/05/2014 21:01

Oh no Devora that's not good Sad.

Raia · 29/05/2014 22:21

Mine arrived yesterday - doing the kitchen cupboard doors was particularly satisfying (and so quick!). I also enjoyed blasting those bits around the radiator controls that are really hard to reach and consequently get really scuzzy (in my house anyway), and obliterating the dried bits of dog food around his bowls Grin

Not tried the floor mop yet, that's for the weekend. Thanks for the recommendation Vicar!

cannaethink · 29/05/2014 23:18

I also bought this one after lurking on this thread. So far I've only done the kitchen floor. It's white tiles and the grout was properly grotty and black. It's now gleaming! I used the hand held bit with the grout brush. Beautiful!

leeloo1 · 29/05/2014 23:39

After much deliberation I've ordered one too. I have high hopes that this'll turn me from domestic slattern into a domestic goddess! Grin

doorbellringer · 29/05/2014 23:49

So ridiculously excited since I have been hankering after one for ages. But will it be ok to use on real wood flooring?

Someone asked up thread if there's anything to add to mask odours. May I suggest Zaflora? Love the Rose stuff - put it it everywhere including Hoover filters. No experience- but I plan to use it in my steam cleaner, as I have, in my carpet shampoo machine. Despite warnings not to I have never had a problem.

aliasjoey · 29/05/2014 23:54

DH asked a technical question: where does the dirty steam go to ?

ThatVikRinA22 · 30/05/2014 00:39

ooer....so i have one disgruntled person but a few happy ones after the recommendation....

see its very much horses for courses.

i really love the way it does windows but i did say earlier i use the steam mop and then a micro fibre cloth for a rub down.

i had mouldy windows and frames - its brought them up so well i couldnt help but be impressed....i love the brush attachments that get into all the grooves....

i love this steam mop....the majority on amazon do too but there are the few who are not impressed.....

but i am. i love it. im eyeing up the muddy patio doors again as we speak....i have a german shepherd with very muddy paws....he likes to jump up at hte patio doors....

next time i do the doors (and frames) i will post a video of before and after....
maybe i appreciate it so much cos of the absolute filth that gets brought into my house...Blush

ThatVikRinA22 · 30/05/2014 00:42

alias....it just evaporates. is steam - its not dirty - i lifts the dirt but leaves it where it was and you just wipe it away - the steam is gas so lighter than air....the dirt isnt....
so the steam rises and the dirt lifts but you have to wipe it away.

i do love doing the loo.....
and the taps....
and the limescaley bits around the taps and plug....
but still don rubber gloves and grab a cloth....

Mine is arriving on Saturday. The house is in a right state so I'm quite excited.

When did I start getting excited about buying cleaning things!?

WhenASuitcaseJustWontDo · 30/05/2014 03:26

Love mine!I live in a hard water area and use the water from the condenser tumble dryer to fill the steam mop. Seems to work. The pads though are filthy even after washing after every use;does anyone have any tips to make them look less grim?

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 30/05/2014 05:26

Placing my order today too. Hoping it lives upto the hype! :)

gorionine · 30/05/2014 13:09

I am starting to be really restless now, just checked on Amazon and still hasn't been dispatchedAngry
I cannot do any cleaning SadWink

Bluetubchairs · 30/05/2014 13:35

Wow, one poster recommends raves about a steam mop and lots of other posters including myself order one. Social networking definitely has changed the way we buy stuff hasn't it? Clever companies should use this as a tool for marketing rather than boring ads.

Suzannewithaplan · 30/05/2014 13:40

Vicar must be on commission by now!
