She's back! DH loathes it, but I love the Anthea Turner: Perfect Housewife programme - it's on BBC Three on Thursday 8-9pm.

Omg. Be afraid.

What'll it be this time? Vaccuum packed children stored in date order?

JackieNo · 15/08/2006 22:05

lol. Best get your storage baskets dusted.

bunglemother · 15/08/2006 23:19

loved it last time - cleaned my house after every prog, even bought storage!! made dh watch it and even he started tidying - never underestimate the power of anthea!!!

bnm · 16/08/2006 00:51

keep wondering how long it will be before she's on bbc1/2 and why they had to get her to present the programme - love housey tips how sad!

fussymummy · 16/08/2006 01:13

TinyGang just read your comment and it really made me laugh!!!
I was picturing my kids all nice and neat!!!!!!!!

Did anyone see Anthea show when she was teaching the mums how to fold a towel nice and neat with no edges sticking out???

I tried to do one towel and it took me ages!

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 16/08/2006 09:11

Didn't see it before as I'm not really interested in what someone with no kids and nothing to do all day has to say about housekeeping (a bit like a certain baby book author heehee.)
But since so many have raved about it I will stick my nose in . Out of interest, what do people's menfolk think of Anthea in Stepford Wife mode? Do they find it kinky or would they run a mile in terror?

daisy1999 · 16/08/2006 09:17

omg I'd forgotten about folding my towels
I did try it and they looked lovely (lasted about a week)

daisy1999 · 16/08/2006 09:18

great entertainment

MadamePlatypus · 16/08/2006 16:06

I love the towel folding thing, but then I did have a Saturday job in Benetton.

mykidsmum · 16/08/2006 16:18

and a mumsnetter is going to be on it not me though

Joolstoo · 16/08/2006 18:35

who, who?

don't give us half a story

LaTutteuse · 16/08/2006 18:36

i didn't watch last series

but (oh, the shame) i have started folding my towels that way since seeing a trailer

morningpaper · 16/08/2006 18:37

I was thinking the other day, if anyone was going to sue MN for being meanies, it should REALLY be Anthea Turner.

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 18:39

Oh who's the mumsnetter? Do tell...

mrsdarcy · 16/08/2006 18:45

Joolstoo · 16/08/2006 18:47

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 18:51

mykidsmum · 16/08/2006 19:00

Its 2manypimms, she posts mainly on the modelling threads but does post elsewhere too!!

mrsdarcy · 16/08/2006 19:52

But how how how do you fold the towels?

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 16/08/2006 19:57

I used to fold my towels and roll them up neatly to post into my very cool Next wall-mounted towel holder. But we left that at the old house so now they're all over the banisters

fussymummy · 17/08/2006 00:10

OK mrsdarcy I'll put you out of your misery.
Lay the towel flat, fold each side into the middle and then fold over itself so you have a rectangle that is 4 layers thick. (no messy edges showing at the sides!!!!!!)
Then take the two ends and fold them into the middle, then fold onto itself.
You should now have one very neat towel with no messy edges showing!!!!!!!!

Probably took ages to do, but hey, us mums have all the time in the wirld!!!!!!!!

Towels do look lovely and neat, but i'd never have enough time to fold them all - we get through loads of towels in our house.

GOOD LUCK

Let me know how you get on. If you have time!!!!

Dunnyjo · 18/08/2006 08:24

did anyone watch it last night? i did and i am a t-shirt folder hippy! I loved the swift movemen to fold them, could never get them looking neat before. Now ds's draws are perfect all done this a.m

Tinker · 18/08/2006 08:28

I thought I was really clever for putting my hairdryer in a wicker waste paper basket with my brushes etc. And then saw that she did the same!

cleaninglady · 18/08/2006 08:37

gutted i missed it - its like a weird fascination to watch her! although secretly worship at the altar of anthea as even tidy me looks up to her
