As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Update - it’s a no, which came through on UCAS, no direct email.

Oh no!! Fingers crossed you have more positive news from RB

No still waiting from recall on 14th March. Also still waiting from RB 3rd round on 26th March. It’s such a long drawn out process. My daughter just finally heard (with a no) from RCS from her audition on Jan 12th!

any news for you from RB? we are still in the dark despite yesterdays flurry of responses and 2 weeks ago. Have written to enquire as would like some expectations setting if we're having to wait even longer now, it's agonising......

Hi - just wondering if anyone has heard any good things or not so good things about East 15 Acting & Fight Performance BA course? Thanks

Did RB reply to your enquiry?

My son got a rejection this afternoon, I guess that was the reply, I've enquired about waitlist options (if there are any!) disappointed we had to wait until the last day for it to be a rejection but guess there was something going on in their process, be nice to know what but guess we never will.........
How about you?

Sounds exciting that one! Can't comment on the course but would love to hear views on feelings on E15 generally as my son has an offer for Acting but has reservations that we'd love to pass up for lots of positives if we can get insight

I'm so sad for us and it's devasting for them, to have waited until the last day for the rejection as well has been rather hard, I wonder what has gone on there I really do but it is what it is........... lots of thinking to do now once it's been digested

My son has had a 2nd round at Royal Central - awaiting results, would like to progress that one and he moved off waitlist (and Cert HE offer) for BA Acting at East 15 on Wednesday which was welcome timing given todays news but there's reservations there so I'm trying to gather insight from whoever I can on that one to change our perspective (hopefully) going to progress offer holders day there in May too to gain more info

Has anyone got experience of the reserve list system, if even one exists? DD has received reserve list offer from Mountview on BA Acting. But honestly it seems a complete farce with very vague information. Any insight is appreciated

No insight for Mountview but my son was put on waitlist (and offered Cert HE) at East 15 from audition in Feb half term and then this week he received an email to say he'd moved to a BA offer so I assume they've had rejections from those initial offers they made around end Feb time and that's released a place for him but I know some places can offer right up to term starting as they'll be movement now as offers come out and acceptances and rejections are made. Hopefully you'll find a Mountview waitlist success story or info at least, Have you tried the facebook group Harrassed Performers Parents or Student Room thread for Official Drama Applicants Thread 2026

Do your DC have other options @MimiGCand @Bargainhunterliz?

Yes. She has her final audition in Birmingham next Friday (seems very late to still be holding auditions , but there you go).
She has been offered Foundations at Italia Conti and LIPA, but doesn’t really want to do a Foundation course.
She has also been offered BA Acting at Manchester, but seems unenthusiastic about that. Not sure why, maybe because she doesn’t know anyone who’s been or much about it. She has been invited to attend an offer holders day there, which I think would be good, but I don’t know if you have to firmly accept the offer first or whether you could go along to help you make your mind up…does anyone know?

ok good there are options. My son is exactly the same - really didn't want to do a foundation so we are pleased that's progressed to a BA offer at least but still has reservations about the place which we are determine to explore more. You should be able to go to the offer holders without accepting as it's to determine that as well I would have thought, our offer holders is prior to having to accept which is useful, check the dates to see

MimiGC · 18/04/2026 12:07

@Bargainhunterliz what are your son’s reservations about E15? My daughter had an audition there recently, but hasn’t heard anything back yet.

Hi there I have an offer with Manchester too and attending open day had my audition 4th Feb I can confirm that anyone can go with an offer you don't need to firm. I guess it's because Manchester isn't talked about a lot (maybe because there's Only 2 BA course) but it's a pretty high regarded course with alumni like Julia Walter's and Michelle yeoh who was recently in both wicked movies.
Also i noticed there last two year graduate alumni quite a few have been signed with top tier agencies. New principal is from GSA (teacher and ex principal) too so hopefully some new exciting stuff on the way.

There's usually quite a lot of movements on all the waitlists (Bird aside - last year they over offered on their course so rejected all their waitlist - but this is unusual), as some people hold multiple offers and then decide. The other thing to consider with Mountview is the fees. Some people try to get funding and then find they can't afford to pursue. They still apply for the dream school but the reality comes crashing down. Finally, some offers are conditional to qualifications, so some offers fall through as results come in (hence late August offers from wait lists).
My daughter got her offer for Italia Conti at the beginning of July.
I also know someone on her Cert course last year who was rejected by Central after final round, then got an offer after all in July (I don't know if they do waitlists).
I would say your daughter has done phenomenally well to get this waitlist and you should be so proud. It's so irritating, though, as it prolongs the waiting, doesn't it. My daughter accepted another offer last year in the meantime, then we had unravel the accommodation and student finance and rearrange, but it all worked out.
Good luck!

Who is the new Principal? Is that publicly known? On their website it doesn’t seem to give much background info on staff…. Also do you know whether Manchester BA runs along conservatoire type lines eg full days, 5 days a week? Or is it more like a traditional degree with lots of “Independent study” /free time?

The new principle is Anna McNamara, she joined June so fairly recent. She did a lot at GSA from what I heard. She created the Applied contemporary course at GSA and was principal for one of the years she spent there And did a lot of head programs then left to director teaching at Lipa now at Manchester. I’m currently a foundation student at GSA so I asked one of my teachers. There’s an article about her in the Manchester school of theatre/news section.

added the link but definitely feel a lot of exiting things ahead.

Anna McNamara appointed Director of Manchester School of Theatre

Professor Anna McNamara joins Manchester Metropolitan University as Director of Manchester School of Theatre and Professor of Actor Training.

Sorry forgot to answer your other question. It's more conservatoire style. It's 9-5 there's only one academic class the rest is particular. I can copy and paste the details I got from current student on what she said about classes.

I asked——-

Thank you :))
I was wondering what are the hours every day?
What subjects do you do and how many lessons a day?
The groups you’re in do they change every semester or stay the same throughout and are there some lessons with everyone in them?
Is it all practical or is there some academic work too?

Answer——-
Most days are 9:30 - 5 apart from Wednesday which is 9:30 - 1. We have voice, speech, singing, movement, contextualising practice, devising principles (the acting class)

normally you’ll have 4 lessons a day
The groups change per semester so you’ll be in two different ones in a year
Depending on how lessons are scheduled you do sometimes have lessons with the whole year yes
In contextualing practice that’s the academic work

its 3 terms too apparently second and 3rd year finish June/July so definitely conservatoire training. Hope this helps
