As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

OP posts:

Hello. My YP also has an offer for MST acting 🙂. Nobody mentions it much in the forums.
Just to add, it’s a member of the Federation of Drama Schools so is intensive conservatoire-style training. Has the benefit, like GSA, of being part of a university (modern university of the year. Ofsted outstanding), so for my YP this is perfect for potential collaboration as is creative. Plus you’ve got the security.
Graduate last year is in the coming Netflix Pride and Prejudice. A graduate in year 2 was in BBC’s Unforgivable. Most seem to secure an agent. Their Alumni is on their website and are some big names.
Importantly for us, outside of London, Manchester is probably one of the best places for actors. You’ve great theatres plus MediacityUk (bbc / itv etc) = opportunities.
I’d go along to the offers day for sure, to see what you think 🙂

MimiGC · 18/04/2026 15:58

@Bucko29@warwickdrama thank you both for the info. I will definitely encourage her to go the offer holders day. She is still licking her RB rejection wounds (found out less than 24 hours ago), so hopefully will feel better soon.

Truetoself · 18/04/2026 17:08

@MimiGCso hard to come back when they set their hearts on something ………

@Bargainhunterliz what are your son’s reservations about E15? My daughter had an audition there recently, but hasn’t heard anything back yet.

He didn't get the feeling he hoped at open day but then it was a rush as he had another one too same day, audition was much better but he wasn't sure about the course leader and others chatted about it also. At another school an ambassador said they get students shifting from E15 to there as haven't had a good experience and other little bits and bobs but we are determined to work on getting some good insight so working on that now. But I have today contacted some 2026 graduates via Insta and they've all given really insightful and positive info which has helped heaps actually

I feel for your DD - very hard when they have waited a long time for news and built up hopes. However I would say MMST is a really good school. Definitely worth exploring further. I don't know why it doesn't get talked about as much on here but it has a good reputation and all the advantages of being part of a university.

Can anyone please recommend some acting/drama colleges in London for year 12.

DC would like to focus in screen acting. Will be moving from Brit School.

Free/ founded colleges so no arts ED

Truetoself · 19/04/2026 13:19

@Gumtreelifewhy does she not want to stay at Brit? Their sixth form is selective and high achieving for performing arts

Not been on for a few days and just catching up @Bargainhunterliz and @MimiGC I am so sorry to hear about RB!! I cannot for the life of me understand why they waited this long to let them know it was a rejection?! My DD heard the week after her audition that she had a rejection for Acting BA! She was offered the Devised course instead but she messaged them that same day saying thanks but no thanks and they updated her UCAS that day. Why do they keep people waiting this long? i think its quite cruel!

@Bargainhunterliz great news about East 15, really hoping your son can start feeling positive about it and could see himself being there.

@MimiGC incredible that your DD has been given MST offer. Its a really prestigious school and very hard to get into, really hope she also can become more positive about it ❤️

What a journey this is!

HonestLemonShaker · 19/04/2026 16:25

Hi, has anyone had a 3rd round recall for acting at RCS? Or know of any offers?

I don’t, but my son is there tomorrow for second round and they mentioned that there are third rounds scheduled for end of April/beginning of May. (He enquired as he has a deadline to accept another offer)

I know; it is a good school, I think there are other reasons not related to the quality of the school

Truetoself · 19/04/2026 18:30

@Gumtreelifethere is also London College of Performing Arts in Abbey Wood

DS did Y10-13 at Brit and a few peers left at Y11 then to go to The Norwood School Sixth form and London College of Performing Arts (LCPA) - it is not the right school for everyone even though the teaching is very good. DS's friend is doing very well and LCPA and is much happier there.

ETA a couple from his local theatre group also went to LCPA and one is now at Rose Bruford and the other at Bristol School of Acting.

Thanks for your message! It certainly is a mystery and I've enquired about a few things, mainly to understand if there is a waitlist as it feels like we should be candidates for that with how long they left us, like they were indecisive or didn't have enough spaces for us at the final decisions. There must be a waitlist as declines to the offers and people pulling out down the line will certainly happen, we'll see what I can get and it'll be disappointing if they don't comment.

Thanks. I think it was poor of RB to take so long to give a decision. It inevitably raised hopes, only for them to be dashed. I’m hoping DD will come round to seeing the MST offer in a positive light. But she has one more recall at RCB this coming Friday, so until the result of that one is known, no final decisions will be made, I suspect.
How is your DD getting on?

It really was very poor. I hope your DD wakes up this morning feeling a little better. The first few days after rejections are always the worst. And huge good luck for RBC on Friday! Your DD is so right not to jump into anything, she has to feel 100% that it is the right school for her. She is clearly very talented though to get to all these final rounds and BA offer from MST! Hope she realises that.

My DD heard word last week that she is through tot he final round of Royal Welsh for BA Acting which we are delighted about. The final is next week so she just needs to get prepared as possible. The only other one is the ever Elusive RCS, she's still no further forward but she has it down in her head now as a rejection, just too long a wait. So RW is really what it is coming down to now, very nerve wracking!

I've just seen someone on another forum received a second round recall email today after an 11 week wait

Pianochord · 20/04/2026 14:03

Does anyone know anything about the waitlist for the CertHE Acting course at ArtsEd? Do you know if there is a lot of movement and if its likely she will get an offer and how long it might take? My DD had her audition on the 26th March and found out on 31st March that she has been put on the reserve list but ArtsEd is her top choice so very happy but frustrated!

Truetoself · 20/04/2026 15:43

@Pianochord did she apply for the CertHe course or get put on there after auditioning for a BA? And is she on reserve for Cert or BA? In any case movements can happen up until term starts. Several people who got places sadly won’t be able to sort out funding

Cont from above......On a very quick conversation he has stated he may prefer their Acting & Contemporary Theatre course but just applied for Acting, anyone got any insight? if we pursue I guess it doesn't hurt to enquire about.

Did he apply to GSA Applied and Contemporary? That’s a really good College and their course is excellent.

He was rejected from GSA at self tapes way back so that ship sailed along time ago for us, thanks though
