As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Is this recently?

Yes all over the last week - seems to be since the UCAS decision deadline.

Sop2 · 10/06/2026 08:02

I know GSA actor muso has offered from waitlist this week.

Jenlizat · 18/06/2026 07:03

Is anyone still waiting to hear from an italia Conti recall? My daughter had one via zoom 4 weeks ago tomorrow and still not heard - don’t know if this is good or bad!

I would ring and ask. Conti admissions are very approachable and they've been giving out some waitlist offers over the past 2 weeks

CHELSE1234 · 01/07/2026 16:14

At this late stage if my YP hasn't heard from the reserve list at Laine, is it time to move on?

Thanks for helping set my expectations! Looks like I’ll be waiting a good 3 years then doesn’t it……

Bird shows are public in all three years. Off to our daughter's yr 2 show next weekend.

@Biscuitsneededwould the YP who have left for work have completed their degree? Isn’t the third year performance a pre requisite?

I can speak for Conti here. If they complete 2 of the 3 year 3 performances 2 shows and agents show case they can do their dissertation whilst working and get the degree. If they only complete 1 of the shows, the production they are in can be assessed as part of their work output and they get the Trinity Diploma.
In the year above DD someone was offered ensemble first cover greaseball in the first casting of the new production of Starlight - they took that too as covers go on so much in Starlight it was a great opportunity.
Many people at Conti complete 2 of the 3 productions and are then working from March/April of their final year.

Offers continue to be made right up to 1st September. People drop out for many reasons.

Newgirls · 05/07/2026 08:29

Surely some students will be waiting for A level results so places might come up after that.

Whilst people are waiting for A level resits that usually does not really affect accepting places as if drama school wants you they will accept you with lower grades. But for example someone drops out at Arts Ed so an offer is made, that person gives up an Urdang place to accept that, urdang offers to someone who currently has a bird place, who offers to someone who has a Conti place who offers to someone with a pPA place and suddenly there’s quite a shuffle.

Newgirls · 05/07/2026 12:32

I think a levels will impact people wanting Manchester, Exeter etc drama places. A few others are via ucas eg gsa and rose Bruford. I don’t know what the requirement is for those courses but it might mean some movement. Or students apply to other courses as well as drama? I remember paapa essidu had a place to study medicine!

My DD has been offered a place at Royal Conservatoire Birmingham for BA Acting. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the place and/or programme they could share please? I thought she would jump at the chance, but she is hesitant.

All I know is what I have gathered from the various forums I am on, and the feeling is it is highly reputable with a lot of competition for places. Seems to have an excellent reputation.

Newgirls · 08/07/2026 09:06

I know an actor who works there occasionally and thinks it’s very good

Krisis · 09/07/2026 19:22

Anyone got into Oxford School of Drama? Just trying to work out accommodation and any tips would be great

Mcmumager · 13/07/2026 19:31

Is there anyone starting on an MA course at Royal Welsh in September and looking for accommodation? There is an available large double in a house with some lovely current students heading into their final year.

a family friend graduated from there 3 years ago. He went on to the MT masters at RAM and has had lots of work since. He speaks very highly of Royal B’ham.

Hello everyone, DD applied for a last minute foundation at ArtsEd yesterday - and got it!

So we are pivoting from her having a gap year at home to now needing to find accommodation.

Does anyone have DC at ArtsEd who might have a spare room or have any student resources for finding a house share with other students?

We are also contacting old students from her school who went to ArtsEd etc.

Thank you!

There's literally discussions on a Facebook forum about ArtsEd accommodation tonight. Are you on the Harrassed Performers' parents page?

Carsexitthroughthecarpark · 14/07/2026 23:53

@contrarydramamum nope! DD applied to the US and had callbacks but didn't get an offer so I didn't really look into any of the UK options.

I will have a look, thank you!!!

@contrarydramamum thanks so much, I was accepted a few hrs ago!

Its strange to be in this position when we didn't think she was going anywhere this year 😂

Newgirls · 15/07/2026 16:49

Congratulations!

Operagirl1 · 15/07/2026 21:14

Oh well, my dd never heard from Central after being placed on their waiting list. She's got professional work though and she's in NYT so she's happy
