As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Just found this! So I don’t lose.

Does anyone have any experience of Preston College Dance BA?

Not the BA, but my dds friend has been there doing her 6th year and some sort of extended dance teaching cert. (DDE).

The standard is exceptional, she has been auditioning this year too and has lots of offers, Bird, Urdang, TL and was on Conti’s Emerging talent program. They’ve offered her a part scholarship.

The college had three teams in Move It this year, I’m sure you’ll find them on Google.

Definitely have a good reputation.

My DD has her two final recall auditions coming up (and is still waiting to hear back from several others, as far back as January and February!). They are at two places I don’t see much discussed on here - Royal Conservatoire of Birmingham and E15 in Essex. Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences to share about these places? She’s applied for BA Acting. Thanks.

Dingbat42 · 08/04/2026 17:35

Have many spaces been filled for Acting MT at Italia Conti do we know? I’ve spotted a few people on Instagram who have posted that they have places and quite a few for the MT course.

The Conti Cert HE students received their offers today. (My daughter is on the BA Acting MT 1st year - there are 25 of them) She said she only knows of one who got in from the Cert course, plus one who was waitlisted. Outside Conti, she knows of one other who has been offered and one who has been waitlisted.
My daughter only got her offer at the end of June last year and 2 boys were offered from the wait list the week before the course started (after exam results day).
Are you waiting for a result? X

My son auditioned for E15 BA Acting, he was waitlisted and offered Cert HE, really not over excited about and parked it a month ago. He wasn't keen on the open day but felt the audition went better but still wasn't really feeling it, even with only one (possibly two) others in the mix he isn't banking on or bothered about it coming through.

Dingbat42 · 09/04/2026 00:16

yes sent in a tape at their request (originally applied for MT) and then haven’t heard anything for about 4 weeks. Contacted last week and they said they were delayed.

WishITookLifeSeriously · 09/04/2026 07:53

@Dingbat42 my DD sent her MT self tape to Conti at the end of Feb. We thought it was a no as she hadn’t heard anything but she got a recall email yesterday after waiting about 6 weeks. I can only imagine they are similar with the Acting. DD’s friend was offered a place at Conti Im November but everyone we know who has auditioned since Christmas has been waitlisted.

Does anyone know what the recall audition day looks like? I think she has to be there around 12pm which I thought was strange, everywhere else we’ve been was early and a full day!

My daughter is currently on the Cert HE MT Course and asked to be considered for MT and acting MT as although she has danced since she was little, she’s had an injury this year which has really knocked her confidence, however she was rejected from both courses, she doesn’t have any offers as back up, although still waiting for a couple of audition outcomes. So looks like she will be taking a gap year and trying again next year. Such a brutal process, don’t know how these YP do it. Take my hat off to them. Looks like lots of the certs got a waitlist. Not heard many get a full BA. But the group chats have been quiet since the results. Think lots are making big decisions, from their offers elsewhere. Just not her year this year. But she is determined to put her all into her showcase and go out on a high

It's hard, isn't it. My daughter was in a similar situation last year and was gutted to be rejected on that day, as she was on the Cert course too (despite having been waitlisted for Acting MT the year before). She then accepted The Brighton Academy. Has your daughter applied there? An up and coming one and they have actor/singer and dancer/singer pathways. Her other offer was Arts1 and she was waitlisted for Bird. She has never been a dancer - always been a strong singer/actor - so the rejections were plentiful last year.
She too stayed positive and threw it all into her showcase, then a week after it was invited to a Teams recall audition for Acting MT, then was rejected again (but with an explanation that she was at the very top of the wait list), then a week after that was offered, so withdrew from TBA and accepted. It was such a roller coaster!
She does know of quite a few BA MT offers but those who get offers stay quiet in respect for those who don't.

contrarydramamum · 09/04/2026 12:05

Just wanted to add to the above: 2 of them got onto Acting MT this way. So 3 altogether got on that course from the Certs last year. It's worth mentioning that they are all very strong actors who have strong singing voices - and can move well, rather than strong singers who can dance a little, if that makes sense. The course sits in their Acting school rather than their MT school.

I do remember her heartache last year at this time, though, so my heart goes out to you. It's so hard seeing them hurting x

Mumofteens20 · 09/04/2026 19:07

Thank you @contrarydramamumits not over for her yet, as she still has a couple of tough auditions ahead, keeping everything crossed for her. She hasn’t applied to TBA, she did seem to go for the main schools, but we’ve had a long chat and she feels that she needs to cast her net wider next year if she is unsuccessful gaining a place this year. Thanks for your post though, it’s good to know your DD got an offer after a rejection, so pleased it all worked out for her x

contrarydramamum · 10/04/2026 10:07

I hope she gets an offer. May be worth looking at who are still accepting applications as there are many outside of UCAS who won't have closed applications yet. For example, I just looked and the final aidition day for TBA is 26th April so they're still taking applications. But she'll want to take her time considering things. Good luck x

Bargainhunterliz · 02/04/2026 16:08

Who knows! it would be great to have some theories on it all! Clearly though we are going into the long weekend not knowing so we just have to adapt to that. Maybe this is like another audition he did there where no expectations were set and it was 3 weeks.......

@BargainhunterlizStill no news from RB yet here. So it’ll be next week at the earliest. How about your end?

AJH4 · 10/04/2026 17:38

My daughter is applying this year. So far she has received an offer from EDA for the Cert course and was put on the degree waitlist. She has recalls for Mountview next week and Italia Conti the week after. She had a recall for Arts Ed and we are still waiting on the result of that. Not sure what she will be doing next year but hoping by the end of this month we will have more of an idea!! Just accommodation to sort then!

CHELSE1234 · 12/04/2026 12:25

Does anyone have any experience of the Laine reserve list?

Truetoself · 12/04/2026 17:34

@AJH4such a prolonged process. If my DD was going through this again I would tell her to do all the applications together and maybe prioritise her fabourites to midcycle as there may be a waitlist for auditions. However , as it happens, the place she is going to gave a decision the day after the audition which was very unexpected and lucky! She thinks she was the last of a batch of auditions and all the results were given together

Funallround · 13/04/2026 09:10

No real insight into waitlist for Laine but the accept deadline is 30th April so imagine things will move after that?

Funallround · 13/04/2026 09:11

Fingers crossed for anyone waiting to hear on results. All feels really real now.

This week has to be a week of news! Although I think I've said that to myself a few times now!

WishITookLifeSeriously · 13/04/2026 10:07

@Funallround is that the deadline for everywhere or just Laine? My dad has two auditions next week!

Just Laine and possibly just those who had offers from Feb auditions? Imagine next 2 weeks those people will start accepting/declining and waitlist may move. Don't know about other places waitlists sorry!

Totally agree - lots of news must be due. But then again these things do tend to move at their own pace...

My nephew is at E15 on the BA Acting course, 2nd year and really enjoying it. He went to a PA 6th form before auditioning so knew what he wanted and was on their Cert Ed course begire being offered BA

Definitely no regrets.

YourOliveCat · 15/04/2026 09:27

Congratulations to all DC with offers, good luck to those waiting to hear. My DC applied for acting BA at Mountview, offered foundation (well the CertHE as now called) - was excited but then got email yesterday saying not at London site but new site in Essex - v disappointed. Was going to take offer (assumed London) and defer her BA Hons at other (less prestige school) offer for a year. So she gets to go to her ‘dream school’ as she calls it, whilst having back up of confirmed place at none favourite for next year. (Not sure my nerves could cope with repeat of last few months!) Dilemma now the Mountview foundation is not as it seemed…. Does anyone know anything about these new sites for CertHEs? They offer a MT one as well.
