Offers for 2025

ontheturn · 04/11/2024 16:15

I noticed that in 2024 there was an offers thread where people shared when their children. had submitted to ucas and what offers they had received. Anyone interested? We have offers for Manchester, Bristol and Leeds all within ten days of submitting ucas but still waiting on Edinburgh. We do know others who submitted at the same time who have had Edinburgh offers already.

Only one offer in so far: Manchester (MMath A*AA). Has anyone heard from Birmingham for maths? DD feeling a bit nervous she's only had one offer so far.

My ds has also only had an offer A*AA for, Manchester, and waiting on the four others. I know Warwick is shut until 3rd Jan, not sure about others. Waiting on Bath, Warwick, Birmingham and Durham

Can I join in? No offers yet but school only submitted UCAS on 20th Dec so not expecting anything yet. DS has applied for mechanical engineering at Sheffield UCL Birmingham Surrey and Queen Mary. Fingers crossed!

In the same boat. Hoping school submitted just before Christmas but sadly not in time for the admissions teams to process them, so had a tense time with DD watching email just in case…

FloralGums · 02/01/2025 19:58

Some offers today on WIWIKAU from LSE and Durham.
Staff are obviously back in after Christmas holidays.
Fingers crossed for everyone.

EEEEK!!

@crouchendtigerr waiting for almost exact same unis! Still only Manchester here. Depending on the exact course applied for at Warwick, we could be waiting till April/May according to the website (which was updated in December).

CautiousLurker01 · 03/01/2025 16:05

Anyone heard from UCL, KingsCL or Royal Holloway in the last week?

ETA also waiting for Manchester, but gather that one may take a while.

DD has been told that some unis do not actually offer until after the closing date on Jan30… is that actually true or a fable told to the anxious ones to keep them calm?!

Also still only Manchester. Prompt offers from all other 4 back in November.

LighthouseCat · 03/01/2025 16:13

@Easipeelerie do you mean are you only waiting on Manchester? Manchester is the only offer DD has so far (for Maths). I know Bath can take a while but had expected Birmingham to respond fairly quickly.

Ds (on a gap year, so he has his grades) got an offer from Essex today - school submitted on the evening of the last day of term. Essex was his banker (all the others have standard offers slightly higher than his grades) so I'm relieved.

Edited

No, this is actually true and UCL and Kings often offer very late indeed

CautiousLurker01 · 03/01/2025 17:15

@periodiclabel thank you for the reassurance - she is very anxious and I wasn’t sure whether it was just a white lie to pacify her. Her two favourite choices are UCL and KCL so it looks as though she will need to be very patient (and I will need to avoid dry January this year!)

Edinburgh taking forever for us.
some students applying for same course at Edinburgh heard back in October when they submitted.
do some universities have relationships with certain schools (the offers were all to students in very high achieving state schools).
Heard from the rest (Manchester Bristol Leeds) immediately

@ontheturn I wonder whether the prompt early replies Oct/Nov time are simply because they know they are likely 2nd/3rd choice offers after Oxbridge so want to be more clear on how many spaces they have to offer post 31st Oct applicants?

crouchendtigerr · 04/01/2025 12:06

I think with maths, universities usually wait for entrance test results, which would explain the early responses for Oxbridge applicants. Ds2 hasn't applied to Oxbridge, was too unwell to sit the early entrance tests so likely won't hear until after he has sat the TMUA next week.

Except mine also applied early for Oxbridge!

Ds has appliedfor m.physics at Oxford, Durham, Warwick, Lancaster and Newcastle. He's had offers from Warwick, Lancaster and Newcastle.

Good luck all.

Changes17 · 05/01/2025 08:59

DS applied early December for physics mphys. Has offers from Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle and an interview for Manchester. Still waiting to hear from Durham.

Monstermunchy · 05/01/2025 10:47

My ds applied early Dec and has offers for Mplan at Sheffield, Liverpool (2 options) and Newcastle - still has a 5th place to fill on ucas if he has a change of heart

happy2025 · 05/01/2025 14:40

We got our 3rd offer yesterday (Saturday!) for Southampton. Waiting on 2 more.

legosnowqueen · 05/01/2025 16:22

DS applied to Durham, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester & Edinburgh the week before Christmas for Management/Management & Economics at Manchester.

Got an offer from Liverpool within 48 hours (AAB) & Manchester (AAA) on Friday.

DS applied last year too but sadly couldn't take his exams due to health problems. Such a relief to get the offers now. Last year he applied a bit earlier & got an offer from Durham on 6 February.

Livein2025 · 06/01/2025 16:14

Unconditional offer in today from Aberdeen University (we’re in Scotland) - first choice and a very delighted DC! Now time to knuckle down for the Prelims. Two Advanced Highers and Two further Highers being taken - hoping for good results but bizarrely it doesn’t matter what they get now?!

Dery · 06/01/2025 18:41

DD has v limited uni options due to proposed subject combination - still waiting to hear back from Durham (Liberal
Arts) and Exeter (Flexible Combined Honours). Fingers crossed for everyone!!!

Congratulations to your Dd, that is wonderful news !

Yetanothercrazycatlady · 06/01/2025 22:56

DS got an offer from Glasgow today. Only Bath to go!

Good luck, everyone!
