Checking in, thanks for new thread. Luckily DS's term doesn't start until Wednesday and so he'll be at home for Oxford decision. I'm going to WFH on Tuesday so will be around too.

dishpatchnow · 08/01/2023 19:18

Thanks for the new thread @Riverpebble
Sending everyone positive vibes, whatever the outcome!

Jeelba · 08/01/2023 19:57

re Durham colleges: if you have an offer, you should hear from Durham Admissions shortly asking you to put your college choices in order of preference. Then the allocation system will work with that information in the summer… (all will be explained!) 😊

lightand · 08/01/2023 21:19

I know someone who is waiting.
They think she will hear tomorrow or the day after.

Best of luck to all fellow Oxford applicant parents. Another one with a mock on Tuesday. I am debating whether I should say something to DC the night before such as whatever happens tomorrow this doesn't define you. So far they have preferred not to talk about it. the nerves are really kicking in on the TSR thread.

I’ve been thinking about this and will be giving my son a ‘we couldn’t be more proud of you’ card on Monday night. I want him to know how proud we are of him either way.

Magimus · 08/01/2023 22:11

That's lovely @Truffled. I ended up saying it tonight as he told me this evening that he was feeling very nervous.

DTJ · 08/01/2023 22:41

Checking in with you all. It’s a little tense here. After talking about it freely for 6 months, it now seems to be a totally off-limits topic with DD. Really looking forward to knowing either way.

Letitgoagain · 09/01/2023 15:42

Thank you for the new thread @Riverpebble
Good luck to all the dc and parents waiting for Oxford offers.

redtulip12 · 09/01/2023 22:40

Good luck to everyone waiting on Oxford email's tomorrow. We haven't really talked about it much over the last couple of weeks but DD said she couldn't sleep last night as it was on her mind. She is in the middle of mocks too so really hope she doesn't check emails until after her exam.

Truffled · 09/01/2023 22:49

Yes good luck all. I for one am glad that decision time is almost here. Keen for my DS to get through tomorrow so he can move forward one way or another.

Tintin2006 · 10/01/2023 06:51

I was waiting for the 'golden ticket' twice over several years ago and am currently waiting for a visa for my wife so I relate. Good luck everyone. Try to focus on the constants and do something fun that works as both celebrations or commiserations (delete as appropriate!).

JangolinaPitt · 10/01/2023 07:05

Slightly different that I am teacher with a 6th form tutor group and have two waiting on Oxford decisions today and this week have mocks ☹️My tutees are like godchildren -feeling anxious....

Good luck everyone, not long now

Rabbitsandhabits · 10/01/2023 07:32

What kind of timings are we thinking? DD has an exam 9-12 so assume won’t hear until after that. Not sure her mind will be on English lit!

OnePlusOneEquals · 10/01/2023 07:38

Good luck everyone, hoping for smiles at the end of the day no matter the outcome for us all!

Riverpebble · 10/01/2023 07:43

The last three user names in a row just made me laugh. Blush

Sorry.

Back to the matter in hand.

Good luck to all waiting for an Oxford offer! 🍀
Last year DD received an email from her college around 9.30ish but UCAS did not update until later on in the day- for those wondering about time frames.

Karmacat · 10/01/2023 07:59

Sending everyone waiting for Oxford today huge hugs. We are Cambridge so a little longer for us.

juicy0 · 10/01/2023 08:23

Good luck to everyone awaiting news from O this morning. DS applied to C so still a wait for us.
Did anyone else who applied to C get an email asking for feedback about their experience making an application? DS received one on Friday asking him to complete an anonymous survey. Hoping that doesn't mean he's out ?
It does say on the email that a decision will be on ucas hub on 25th followed up within a week by an email.

GerronBuzanDoThaWomwok · 10/01/2023 08:28

The checking of UCAS has begun (after forgetting the password in panic)
😱

Rabbitsandhabits · 10/01/2023 08:36

St peters (who are always super early for some reason) have apparently started sending their emails.
