For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Surely it should read 'especially the deranged and desparate'. And can we call it the 'bunch of hippies thread' instead of 10/10?

Bbbee · 02/03/2008 22:13

and surely the deranged bit means we can do role play.

BroccoliSpears · 02/03/2008 22:14

Oh I like the Love Pea Tender title.

Bbbee · 02/03/2008 22:15

look everyone we really ought to talk about fruit and vegetables early in the thread incase people come in all new a fresh..

I have had:

an orange
beans
apple
sprouts
carrots
onions

that is only five. That is not good. Others have done better.

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 22:15

look we are attracting more vegetable named posters

Bbbee · 02/03/2008 22:16

Have also played a board game aimed at 10-adult people firstly with an 11yo and an 8yo, then with 11yo, 6yo and 2yo. Given that it was a complicated game, and that certain people kept sliding under the table, and that I had to leap up and provide emergency food several times, and that it was quite exhausting, can it possibly count as exercise?

Boco · 02/03/2008 22:21

I had home made vegetable soup for lunch, with lots of vegetables and some beans in it.
courgette
green beans
umm, other stuff I can't remember

then
carrots
parsnips
broccoli
apple
grapes
blueberries

I reckon I had about 8 today.

TooTicky · 02/03/2008 22:22

Sand in shoes is normal, isn't it? It's eating it that I find distressing. Oh, and little heaps of it in bed.

Boco · 02/03/2008 22:22

I read the observer article.
So, mn are making books, six figure deals etc, and mp is writing the first one, is that right? I didn't know about that.

Bbbee · 02/03/2008 22:24

what?

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 22:25

I think we all write the books (or have written them already)
mp is editing them

have you seen the previous ones? they're collections of posts

OP posts:
Boco · 02/03/2008 22:27

I've not seen any of them. Surely they weren't all six figure deals though were they? I assumed this was something different. Wow. So, Fra, were you in any so far?

I like it when people call you Fra.

Bee, are you working or chilaxing?

lionheart · 02/03/2008 22:34

Hello.

Deranged (slightly) signing in.

Hope everyone is well.
