For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Right I've been lurking.

I'm not sure I'm cut out for this but thought I'd tag along for a while and see how it goes....

If that's alright with y'all?

Ok so yesterday I went out for 20 min run
and food....

two oranges
grapes
stir-fry - probably about erm, 4/5?peppers/cabbage/beansprouts/baby sweetcorn/mangetout
and a BLT - does the lettace and toms in that count? I'm guessing not since not sure it constitutes a portion...

about 8ish...

Today however,

Coffee.
Toms on toast.

Well its still early.

So mind if I hang out?

TigerFeet · 03/03/2008 10:45

Have you all pissed off to be more productive in RL yet?

Why is the seahorse sad?

Oh that is just what I was after for my barn dance later.

Will you be sending the uniform through the post?

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:00

I thought we agreed not to post meet up photos

S1ur · 03/03/2008 11:02

So I reckon the tomato in a BLT counts but not the lettace... hmm interesting.

S1ur · 03/03/2008 11:04

I'm guessing you'vee all had the tomato fruit or veg conversation then.

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:06

Depends how much tomato and lettuce there was. Have you checked the portion sizes in a linkj? Actually, I think you need a cereal bowlful of salady stuff to make a portion.

Boco · 03/03/2008 11:06

No no, we tend to gloss over fruit and veg. It's a non starter.

Do you drive?

Have you got any phobias?

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:06

Sorry, in a linkj should read in the link . I am not Polish.

S1ur · 03/03/2008 11:13

Yep checked link that's how I know my BLT was vrtuous on the tomato front but I certainly didn't have a bowlful of lettace in it.

Tomatos are a fruit but a veg because used for savoury. And a veg in the link - hence my comment. And yes, dull non-starter really.

No I don't drive and don't have any phobias.

but i will try to develop both areas if you like?

Boco · 03/03/2008 11:17

No that's fine Slur, you seem an ideal canditate.

Lots of us don't drive. It's a haven for non drivers. Although I have a lesson on Wednesday and do actually want to be a driver.

Many of us are scared of things like...birds. Some of us. No actually that's just 100x. But I'm sure we've all got at least one mild phobia. I'm quite afraid of any kind of show on ice for example.

S1ur · 03/03/2008 11:22

Ah thats good then. And my what lovely soft hands you have.

I too am very dubious of shows on ice and almost anxious of geese.

I keep meaning to take an intensive driving course, but then I get pregnant and bf and/or poor so meh, maybe at Easter.

Boco · 03/03/2008 11:31

Intensive courses are so expensive too - my friend just took one and failed on 13 major faults!

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:32

I am afraid of thick electrical cables, fuseboxes, gas pipes and boilers

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:33

Slur, where are you? I can highly recommend an instructor in Wiltshire.

IdrisTheDragon · 03/03/2008 11:35

I was having a work meeting. I ate three a tiny bit of biscuits.

I have knitted in the past. I may do in the future.

I am needing to get a postive feeling on the c/m front.

S1ur · 03/03/2008 11:38

Yorkshire.

And yeah I have my doubts about intensives I think they probably don't prepare you that well and they are so expensive, but I also think that might be the only way I get it done. Its been a decade since I could've learnt and haven't.

I am surrounded by knitters but every time I have ever tried I tie myself in knots. SO I don't try anymore, not really into s&m...

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 11:38

That must be hard Idris. It is largely for this reason that we are living frugally until all dcs are at school. If you were closer I'd happily help.
