For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh, that would be too far to travel. Even for a really whizzo instructor.

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2008 11:51

You must all learn to drive. It's absurd. I insist.

Whistler was a painter, and a wit. [yawn] Anyway once he said something funny and Wilde said 'I wish I'd said that' and Whistler said 'You will Oscar, you will.'

Me and Boco aren't doing that though, unless someone sends me a dressing-gown and a beautiful aristocratic boy, then I might.

I haven't eaten again, except for an apple. I have been productive. Have been to park, have been to vet (she said JJ was fat ) taken ds2's trainers to school because he forgot them and needs them this afternoon.

Now I am here. Now I am going to go and do important things. Immediately.

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2008 11:53

[stares out window, makes list]

IdrisTheDragon · 03/03/2008 11:56

I can drive. I have been driving for 15 and a bit years and passed my test nearly 15 years ago.

I am considering the frugal living. Hmm. But I do like my job, mostly. Also really like the c/ms and so do DS and DD. And felt all was settled and now it isn't and I am not good at change.

Bother bother bother.

Sorry, going on too much about this. At leats have calmed down now and am trying to take a what will be will be attitude.

Will eat food soon. Then have another meeting.

Boco · 03/03/2008 11:57

I'm doing important things. I'm drawing a penguin. And thousands of birds being released from cages with their colourful feathers fluttering down from the sky. The woman who I 'm drawing them for is arriving in half an hour, so leaving things just a tiny bit until the very last moment.

Who is Whistler and who is Wilde here? Am I copying you or are you copying me? Avi reckons we pay mp to include us in the roundup, and now this!

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2008 11:58

You'd better be Whistler because of the drawing penguins and feathers and all that.

Will the ink be dry by the time she arrives?

I have been driving for a year and eight months.

Dd1 is making danish pastries in a shrill-voiced sort of way.

Ds1 is ill.

Dp is ill.

Dd2 is sitting on the computer turn saying that she never gets a turn.

Ds2 is probably better off in school.

Boco · 03/03/2008 12:39

Avi that sounds like this book I'm drawing. The princess in a gold wheelchair who never smiles releases all the birds from their cages and laughs and laughs as they fly off into the sky.

I worry though. Because we went for a walk the other day and found a totally bald parakeet that had obviously escaped or been set free and the wild birds had all pecked it and it wasn't happy at all. I worry about all these birds released into the wild, they need to be taken to their native countries really, or they'll all just come back bald.

TooTicky · 03/03/2008 12:40

Oh dear Boco. Will there be a disclaimer?

Boco · 03/03/2008 12:41

Oh I'd need a disclaimer for pretty much every page.

Hello, have been lurking not posting for last week. Had dreadful tummy upset a week ago, then found out an old friend and lover had died some time ago and needed some time to adjust to that. Then had chemo on Thurs and have spent the weekend sleeping and groaning.

Have got up today and had a jam sandwich (made with pure fruit apricot spread though) and orange and tangerine juice and two ibuprofen for splitting headache. Not doing wonderfully well on F&V front as most foods make me feel revolted atm.

Have started a pot of veg soup as too ashamed to post before...it will contain split peas, lentils, onions, garlic, carrots, parsnips, cabbage and parsley.

about your yummy tea and 100X having book published...mine sits awaiting me feeling well enough to do edit before submitting, belated congrats 100X, would love to hear more about it.

filthymindedvixen · 03/03/2008 17:13

Hello Slur, I'm in Yorks too

Can I be Whistler's Mother? (I'll do anything for immortality including wearing a mob cap or whatever she is waering in her portrait)

You are all so talented. It makes my head hurt.

FrannyandZooey · 03/03/2008 17:46

LOL I thought that was OliviaMN (she does post on 10 / 10) and you were reporting her LL

filthymindedvixen · 03/03/2008 17:57

Olivia, trust us, we're all deranged hippies on this thread - no-one's sanity has been saved on here, in fact I's say it has been eroded....

Boco · 03/03/2008 17:58

Lol that Olivia would venture into the deranged and desperate thread asking if it's been a lifesaver.

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2008 17:59

Why is everybody suddenly writing a thousand articles on MN? [sigh]

It won't be the same you know. Not with the books and everything.

oooh I can talk about the dinner party years then, without ever having been at the dinner party.

I love LL as the site policewoman. Isn't she effective and authorative?

Franny didn't defend the yurt I notice. She is sleeping in the corner with a bit of dribble on her chin.

filthymindedvixen · 03/03/2008 18:01

''Until I found this little haven of mung-bean munchers, my life was a shambles, I had no friends, I smelt of wee and thought that licking the insides of baked bean tins constituted one of my 5-a-day.
Now I am SAVED!!

But I still smell of wee.
And still have no friends''

GillianMcPoo · 03/03/2008 18:02

For what's it's worth, I don't think this title is half as deranged and desperate

(It's ShinyHappy btw...)

I was just saying that to Lapin y'know 100. I think it's a sign of not being a newbie anymore, that you start to fret about newbies joining and spoiling it for everyone else.
