Hello ladies, - just taking the plastic wrapper off a brand new thread Smile

OP posts:
Gigondas · 24/02/2012 17:37

Ooh shiny thread Wink

KurriKurri · 24/02/2012 18:12

Hooray for new phone topsy Smile - it all sounds way to technical for me

ned - sorry you are feeling ropey Sad - you might find you have a bit of a rough weekend (I hope not) but start to pick up next week, - have you got some very untaxing things to keep you amused (audio books are good I found).

Hope you are OK 1in8?

How are the Ab's working Gig? - any improvement in the wound? - Did they give you an idea of how long it would take to heal - I imagine it's quite a deep and awkward sort of wound?

OP posts:
SparkleRainbow · 24/02/2012 19:08

Oo kurri we are phone twins! Blush

Lovely the shiny new thread

KurriKurri · 24/02/2012 19:24

Grin at phone twins.

Phew, thank goodness someone remembered the trolley!

Figgyroll · 24/02/2012 20:27

Evening everyone.

My thoughts were with MAS today. I hope it all went as well as could be expected.

Yay for Topsy's new phone. I can't get Scrabble on my phone so have to use the laptop for that. It's great for the internet and photos - oh, and for phoning people too Grin

Sorry to hear you're feeling yucky, Ned. I'm sure it will wear off soon. Just hang in there and let your lovely mum help out as much as she can. I kept a little notebook and numbered each day at the top of the page, starting with Cycle 1, day 1 and wrote down all sorts of things. My temp, how I was feeling, all the side effects, any conversations with medical peeps, and at the back I wrote down some funny (at the time) annecdotes that amused me. It was interesting to look back on and see how each cycle was similar and it helped me plan for my good days. I've thrown it away now - it was quite cathartic getting rid of it tbh.

So pleased it's the weekend. I'm feeling a bit pooped - a combination of working my socks off at school and doing too much in the afternoons instead of pacing myself and relaxing. I should be up to full speed by Monday though as haven't got much planned. DH and I might go up to London on Sunday for a mooch around - he has a new all singing-all dancing camera and is interested in architecture (like MAS's DS) so we might head for Canary Wharf.

What plans has everyone got this weekend?

topsyturner · 24/02/2012 21:02

Ooh , I like what you have done with the place . (plumps up the cushions and polishes the wheels on the fbs trolley)

Hope you are feeling a little better ned

Still trying to get used to the shiny new touch screen keyboard on my NEW IPHONE !!!!!!

Weekend plans include listening to DH ranting at the tv tomorrow as Ireland play rugby ...

jchocchip · 24/02/2012 21:26

Ooo nice shiney new thread with shiney wheeled fbs trolley. I bought some jelly babies this morning so we can enjoy biting their heads off no chocolate for me, still managing to remember its lent! Hot milky Brew soon anyone?

Sorry to hear ned is feeling yuk. I've got a period tracker app on my phone which allows symptom recording - you know a pick list for mood, constipated, swi etc and I started to record notes on my mood on there .

Just found out H's funeral is on Wednesday, so I will flex the day off to go. I would like to take my Aunty but I'm not sure it will be possible as she has only been out in a wheelchair taxi so far. Mum is upset that she can't go. Last time I brought Mum up north to a family party was H and M's ruby wedding I think, several years ago now.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2012 21:36

yay- thanks kk !!
Sorry you are feeling rotten ned Sad hope things improve soon
Am back -all went well,a very lovely service-Patience would be so proud of her two sons, the eulogy was brilliant and younger ds read from Winnie the Pooh- not the bit I thought, but the bit where they take Tigger to Kanga's to find him some breakfast - they felt that P was like Kanga, always kind -was funny and moving (younger son is a stand-up comedian) I was told I read well - hope so-I relaxed into it after the first bit and didn't mess up,I don't think. Dad did well, lots of laughing at anecdotes. Nice music- Nimrod/a bit of Bach and Faure Requiem
Hope the funeral on Wednesday goes well jane
Am knackered so will retire to bed pretty soon. Am puzzled by this weird lingering sore throat- but Patience's dd has had similar.

KurriKurri · 24/02/2012 22:04

No big weekend plans here, - but I will have a milky Brew if there's any on the go. DH will be watching any rugby going (He is Scottish, so there is always a lot of tantrumming and sulking whenever they play Grin)

MAS - I glad the funeral went well, it sounds lovely, and well done for your reading - I'm sure it meant a lot to the family Smile

Hope the funeral on Wed. goes well too jane.

Have a lovely trip to London Figgy, - and have a nice rest over the weekend as well Smile

I can't keep up with all these phones that do everything - you are all much more techno smart than me. DH taking a call on our phone Grin

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2012 22:21

oh yes, have fun in London figgy x

topsyturner · 24/02/2012 22:23

Hahaha kk ! Grin

Gigondas · 24/02/2012 22:24

Kurri - abs are ok but sore (chatted to a friend who had two sections and said this was quite normal). It's the end of the day that is worst as cant avoid picking dd2 up, bending to change /wind her etc. also sensation coming back to top of my leg / bum and am feeling the aches where muscles here compensate for the op. add in trying to keep still (and not sleep on scar) its a bit awkward trying to move but am getting there.

Am also not planning much this wkd - dh and big kids off to England match (we live nearby) and over for lunch . The big dsc not seen dd2 which will be nice.

Topsy- I love my iPhone ESP kindle app although obviously mn app my favourite.

Figgy /jchoc- symptom tracking sounds good idea so will pinch that for treatment.

Mas that really does sound a lovely service - I think personal things like pooh reading are nice as make it a celebration of a life ifykwim.

Ned ,amber and all the others who are not feeling so great , hope tomorrow and weekend is a bit better.

jchocchip · 24/02/2012 22:37

:) at kk's phone!
I made horlicks, hope that's ok kk.
Hope the dsc enjoy the match and meeting their new sister, gig.

Mum said H is being buried at home after a service in the chapel... Maybe she has the wrong end of the stick but maybe not.

jchocchip · 24/02/2012 22:41

Oh and I meant to say, after standing me up in the pub yesterday, my friend and I had a lovely catch up today over tea and Christmas cake. And I got home in time to make another loaf of bread in the machine while I went for a swim. Dh is safely home from Kent and is glad he went. His Nan was pleased to see him (even if she didn't know exactly who he was)

KurriKurri · 24/02/2012 22:47

Love Horlicks Smile (they used to make Horlicks tablets/sweets - we have some old letters my Dad wrote during the war asking his Mum to send more Horlicks tablets as everyone at his airbase liked them Grin)

Hope you get time to rest this wknd Gig, - good that some feeling is coming back, but trying to get over one big op when you have a new infant is hard enough, let alone two - it must be very hard work. You're doing really well Smile It'll be lovely for the DSC to see their new little sister.

Bet you are going to be playing with that phone all night topsy Grin

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 25/02/2012 08:43

you're doing so brilliantly gig !
Glad dh got to see his nan jane
Had a mega anxiety dream which encompassed a myriad of stuff-but during it I did hope I was in a dream- gah !
kk love your home phone- I can't get mn app on my mobile- or at least I can't find it Sad

topsyturner · 25/02/2012 09:21

Morning All

Managed to wake myself up at 5am today , by hiccuping for some bizarre reason !

Yes I have been playing on my phone constantly . I am currently hooked on Words With Friends , similiar to Scrabble .

Boo for anxiety dreams mas , they are horrid aren't they ?

Gig - back to the sofa , now !

Are Hula Hoops an acceptable breakfast choice ?

Gigondas · 25/02/2012 09:26

Am in bed so does that count Topsy?

Is words with friends worth playing - sounds addictive?

Mas - anxiety dreams are horrible and make me feel drained all day as always indicate horribly disturbed sleep.

Didn't you used to be able to get chocolate Horlicks?

Elibean · 25/02/2012 09:51

Sorry to intrude ladies, just wanted to say I've been thinking of you all as heard about Wubbly (whom I chatted with around the time of her dx, as I had a friend with the same sort of bc - I met her when I was having breast issues myself) and wanted to say how sorry I am...losing a friend, cyber or otherwise, is beyond Sad and, if you are anything like me, probably unsettling. Love and best wishes, and a candle lit for the amazing, bubbly Wubbly xxx

Elibean · 25/02/2012 09:52

ps can't help noticing my favourite addiction new pasttime mentioned: Topsy, if you are ever stuck for Wording partners, pm me!

pps Kurri, your dh is super handsome Wink

topsyturner · 25/02/2012 10:05

Oooh yes it is a little addictive gig Grin

Elibean will pm you now !

KurriKurri · 25/02/2012 11:22

Morning all, - hello Elibean - lovely to see you as always, - but sad that like us you have been touched by dear Wubbly's passing. I've been thinking about her so often this week Sad

Yes - my DH is a looker - there's no denying it Grin

topsy - your fingers will fall off Grin - hope people are supplying you with snacks, held up to your mouth, so you don't have to stop playing.
Hula Hoops = potatoes = five a day - so you're OK there.

I'm sure you used to be able to get choc. Horlicks Gig. - Hope you get a restful day today.

MAS - I hate those anxiety dreams, - do get recurring ones? I keep getting the same ones coming up in a slight variation very regularly, - and I've no idea why or what it means other than generalised anxiety.

Nice your DH could see his Nan jane, - I sure she enjoyed his visit even if she was confused.

OP posts:
OneInEight · 25/02/2012 11:38

Mas - glad the service and your reading went well. Ned, mums are great aren't they - hope your feeling OK today. I am very tired but at least the nausea has eased. Lovely and bright here today so will try and get out in the garden if only for a little later. Hope everyone is having a good day.

jchocchip · 25/02/2012 12:14

Can still get chocolate horlicks, but as I'm off hot chocolate for lent, its just the ordinary kind in my house.

:( for anxiety dreams and hiccups.

I want to get out in the garden too, but will wrap up warm first, its a bit nippy out there.

NedSchneebly · 25/02/2012 12:25

Morning all - might tentatively suggest that I am feeling a teeny bit better this morning. . . Am a bit constipated, I think, though - sorry, tmi! Can I take lactulose safely to get myself moving again? Have never suffereed with it before, but haven't had a poo since Wednesday, and feel quite full all the time, so think it might be that. . .

Bit less tired and achy - maybe coming through the other side? Find it a bit easier to type effectively, at least!

Glad new phone a success topsy ! Am Envy as I really want one, but have to wait til August 2013 til my contract runs out and a get an upgrade. Do quite like my current Samsung tho. . .

eight how you doing today? Thinking of you lots

MAS glad service went well. Big hugs x

Thanks for new thread kurri this is my fourth one I'm on now, i think - I feel like a bit more of an old hand!
