New wife. How to skin a sausage?

LouJou · 24/11/2023 13:25

Polish Sausage or Chorizo or similar: How do I skin them without destroying the shape of it?

OP posts:
dontdillydallytoolong · 24/11/2023 15:43

I always eat the sausage with the skin on…😆

Examplenoone · 24/11/2023 15:44

loujou if you really do need an explanation there are lots of videos on YouTube showing you how to remove the casing from a sausage. It’s a bit like peeling an underripe banana.

MN - As you were!

Sholkedabemus · 24/11/2023 15:49

The easiest way to skin a sausage is to freeze it first. Then you warm it very slightly, you can easily remove the skin and your sausage stays whole.

Janinejones · 24/11/2023 15:49

A slow day in the NewsRoom, 5 pages @LouJou You did do well!
The OP's encounter at the Gym must have been so successful they are feeding each other.
By coincidence I had some Polish saus for lunch, it is impossible to eat whatever that is wrapped in. It is plastic.

This is why I stayed a gf/partner, I knew I made the right decision not to marry. Wifing wasn’t for me when it involves sausage skinning.

MarchionessVonSausage · 24/11/2023 15:59

Dearest Ones- I didn't gain my title by being afraid of a little sausage-skinning. Be not frightened nor squeamish. Off with their heads.

Bless you & yours.

HalfWomanHalfChocolate · 24/11/2023 16:00

I skinned a lot of sausages before i was even married.

I hope I haven’t got any nicknames I don’t know about 😳

As any experienced wife will tell you @LouJou , there are more ways than one to skin a sausage.

RestingCatsArseFace · 24/11/2023 16:11

This reminds me of the person who started a thread about boiling a steak... A steak that is meant to be fried or grilled, not braised. They couldn't understand that it is not normal to boil a steak in water. Could this be the same poster?

DevonSeaSwimmer · 24/11/2023 16:12

There's more than one way to skin a sausage.

That's why I've got a new patio.

I remember that one! But it wasn't as good as the Gorilla Finger Steak

Rump, grilled as I always do my steaks. I usually have sirloin but they were out so got rump instead. It looks extremely 'wrinkly' to me. Is this...

Strangely enough, DS (he's 24) and I were discussing skinning chorizo at lunch. I subsequently discovered this thread and sent him choice screenshots. His responses were "WTF and "Jesus!" And I haven't seen him since.

Epidote · 24/11/2023 16:18

Are the cured? Damp the skin it will get loose.

Oh yes, I remember that one as well 😂

Chipsatsunset · 24/11/2023 16:30

I’m divorced so not a wife but I just take the tip off with a sharp knife and peel away. Polish, German and Chorizo are usually pretty sturdy so they should stand up to a peeling. Richmond sausages though - different matter. Would be all over the place.

I've just lost the last half hour dying of laughter reading that thread

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/11/2023 16:35

I’ve never felt the need, @LouJou , but I do hope that as a New Wife you know that it’s essential to line all your drawers with fresh paper every week?

Sleepygrumpyandnothappy · 24/11/2023 16:35

Unmarried here but I skin chorizo by making a small cut and peeling. This may only work because DP and I have wills, LPAs and equal salaries.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 24/11/2023 16:38

BeardedIrises · 24/11/2023 14:05

What, with honeymoon stories involving Polish and Spanish sausage?

Could be…

Best make sure they aren't spicy sausages, then.

Keep your filth on the Sex topic please!

😂😂

cmaalofshit · 24/11/2023 16:41

LTB.
Tell the lazy arse to skin his own sausage.
What the fuck is wrong with him??
He's a prize prick.

Raise your standards.
Solicitor on Monday.

Dustyblue · 24/11/2023 16:45

@OnlyFannys It's going to pinch my chips! 😂

ChristmasPuddingFace · 24/11/2023 16:45

Polish sausage and chorizo aren't usually meant to be skinned.

If it was an English sausage, I use a pair of scissors, where I make a nick at one end and then cut carefully all down the length of the skin. Then I peel off the skin carefully.

Is New Wife a replacement for the Old Wife, out of interest?

What happens if you fail the sausage test?
