Steak to the boil

Hi I posted a meal I made recently and thankfully most people backed me up and agreed it was normal, it helped settle a huge argument with my other half.

I just wanted to mention 1 more thing and see what people think. I've been buying these sirloins from a brazillian shop (not the same as sirloin steak in the uk)

Then I cook them in a pot / bring them to boil and my partner thinks it's wrong because you're meant to fry them.

I keep saying it's not sirloin steaks it's a brazillian sirloin which is completely different and I'm cooking it right.

Can anyone help explain to him he's wrong? I know it's small but it has caused a lot of arguments in the kitchen, and this site helped me a lot yesterday in finding the right name for the food I made.

Again this is not a sirloin steak in the uk, it's not steak... it's a brazillian sirloin so remember that. Thanks!!!

Unfortunately it was too loud in the restaurant to test my theory: we had to repeat everything with the waitress because she couldn’t hear us properly. And also DP refused to try it on the basis that they might actually boil his steak.

OP, is that a tin of baked beans mixed through your pasta as the sauce?
Please go and do a basic cookery course or get yourself a simple cook book. It looks like you and your husband are completely winging it when it comes to cooking. Surely someone, at some time has taught at least one of you how to cook something?

did you ever get a picture of your boiled steak?

I'm American. We do not boil steak. We do broil it, though, on the broil setting of the oven. No water is involved.

Personally I prefer it grilled on a charcoal grill with soaked hickory, apple or cherry wood chips to add flavor.

You do you, OP, but I think it's a shame to ruin a nice cut of steak by boiling all the flavor away in water.

@LifeExperience I remember this thread... I agree that OP has misheard the word broil for boil. She never updated us with a pic of her boiled steak
