Steak to the boil

Hi I posted a meal I made recently and thankfully most people backed me up and agreed it was normal, it helped settle a huge argument with my other half.

I just wanted to mention 1 more thing and see what people think. I've been buying these sirloins from a brazillian shop (not the same as sirloin steak in the uk)

Then I cook them in a pot / bring them to boil and my partner thinks it's wrong because you're meant to fry them.

I keep saying it's not sirloin steaks it's a brazillian sirloin which is completely different and I'm cooking it right.

Can anyone help explain to him he's wrong? I know it's small but it has caused a lot of arguments in the kitchen, and this site helped me a lot yesterday in finding the right name for the food I made.

Again this is not a sirloin steak in the uk, it's not steak... it's a brazillian sirloin so remember that. Thanks!!!

I'm literally with my Argentinian friend right now. It's a normal steak. All countries call the cuts different things but it's just a steak.you do not boil it. You can broil it or grill it or fry it. But not boil

Anyone else feeling sad for the crimes against premium Brazilian steak that have been committed by the OP?

I bet she asked her husband what was his beef with her cooking

Maybe she wanted his beef put in, explains how a lot of us ended up parents I suppose

And fried steak with spaghetti on the side is a weird meal

Lougle · 19/07/2023 12:08

R. Such a tiny little letter but responsible for the murder of one of the most beautiful cuts of meat.

This isn’t real is it? People aren’t really out there boiling steaks in water and serving with plain spaghetti are they?

My son would love that actually. Plain meat and plain spaghetti - none of that flavour nonsense.

Troll thread!

AlltheFs · 19/07/2023 12:17

I do like a funny troll thread.

Now pondering what a boiled steak would taste like. Could I put one in the office kettle?!

Troll thread!

Really, who'd have thought?

Veryangryboy · 19/07/2023 12:19

Is this the traditional way to cook bison steak, OP?

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 12:23

The Chinese boil meat in milk before frying as it breaks it down and makes it tender

finewelshcheese · 19/07/2023 12:24

Looks exactly like a standard sirloin to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ and no, you shouldn't be boiling any kind of steak.

This has got to be a windup. However, @powerhousesandra every photo you’ve posted of your “cooking” has made me feel ill 🤢🤢🤢 and I have no idea where you’ve got such disgustingly unappetising photos from.

Hilarious. But grim

they are my photos and the food is nice I am uploading a video to my other thread now...

are you OK OP?

Bananaspliff · 19/07/2023 12:40

Boiled steak and spaghetti sounds like a Jack Monroe recipe.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 19/07/2023 12:43

Are you sure you haven't misread a us recipe and it says 'broiled'

Boiled sounds disgusting

Bearpawk · 19/07/2023 12:44

This is a wind up. That video is disgusting.
No way are you boiling steak.

You’d be surprised. My ex (key word) used to microwave cut up pieces of steak and then eat it with plain fusilli. Confused

Georgyporky · 19/07/2023 12:54

Perhaps OP's DH said something about fancying a Brazilian ?

TheBlinkOfAnEye · 19/07/2023 12:57

I never boil meat. I'd do something like that in the slow cooker. It would come out very tender.

RoseslnTheHospital · 19/07/2023 13:00

Whatever you're cooking, please try to add something green to the plate...

powerhousesandra · 19/07/2023 13:04

Oh no that's disgusting 😫
