I enjoyed the last Gousto thread but it seems to have disappeared so thought I would start a new one.
Anyone had a box this week?
I have had the Goan style basa and spinach curry which was really good. Also had the pork with bubble and squeak mash and the sesame hoisin chicken. All have been lovely so far. Smile Just the Thai red curry to go now which I am looking forward to.

Hello!

We've had a creamy veg potato-topped pie which was nice, and a nutty sweet potato and sugar snap curry which was good but had no accompanying carbs and not enough nuttiness! I did cous cous to bulk it out.

Tonight it's the tofu bowl thing.

We mostly get veggie as the Mr is and our 14yo has a raging eating disorder so is avoiding 'meals' at the moment.

I’ve got one coming tomorrow!
Moroccan chicken stew with couscous
Spicy peanut chicken noodles
Mushroom stroganoff with walnut rice
Sri Lankan coconut dahl with aubergine pickle

I’ve not had one for a few weeks (mix of uninspiring recipes and a freezer full of food) but I’m looking forward to these!

I've not had a box in a while but still have access to the recipes on the app. We love the seasonal sausage bake and I think I'll be trying the sticky lemon chicken this week.

Oh we have the Moroccan stew coming next week too. Also gone for the lemon chicken, the Korean beef stew and the chicken rogan Josh.
I have had the Sri Lankan aubergine curry before and it’s really good. Smile

We had the sesame hoisin chicken last week, it was definitely one we will get again, and I loved the shredded salad.

This upcoming weeks box, due on Monday, we’ve chosen…
Crispy Coconut Jumbo Prawn Tacos With Guacamole
Lemony Chicken With Crushed Potato Colcannon
Smoky Chorizo Cod With Crispy Potatoes And Aioli

Your choices sound nice, TooWicked. I was tempted by the coconut jumbo prawn tacos so will be interested to hear what they are like.

Place marking! I love the ten minute recipes for my work days! So quick and delicious. We really enjoyed the ten minute chilli non carne with sweet potatoes this week. We aren't veggie, but that is one of our fave recipes.

I'm also a 10-minute fan. Simple but delicious. We were strangely impressed by the chicken satay with cucumber which we thought might be a bit dull, but the pickle made it great!

Had the tofu sofritos bowl this evening. I didn't like it. The cayenne just overpowered everything. Himself has having mine. I'll have a sandwich or something. Sad times...

Korean fried chicken and the hulihuli chicken were highlights for me!

I love the gousto recipes. You can look them up online and buy the ingredients yourself....much cheaper! Chicken teriyaki with sugar snap peas is delish and so quick/easy.

@Priddypuddycat I’m pretty sure the vegetable stock powder is this.

We had the mushroom stroganoff tonight. It was ok, but the smoked paprika was overpowering - normal paprika would have been much better.

We had some real successes last week - the sesame tofu nuggets and the tamarind roasted aubergine were both gorgeous.

I'm not convinced it is - Marigold is yellower...

I'd like to find whatever it is though!

I'm not sure the stock is Marigold either. I should have both this week so will compare.
I'm looking forward to the goan and keralan curry this week.
Everything we had last week was great. Sausage and mash was really tasty as was the paneer masala with pilau rice.
Not sure whether I'm right or not but I have a feeling that the spices for 4 people might be too much so have put less in than suggested. The rice was supposed to have 6 cardamom in and 2 star anise but I halved it as it looked too much.

We've got the pork with bubble and squeak mash this eve and then this week we've got:

Comforting lean beef cottage pie
Chicken tikka naan
Spicy peanut chicken noodles
Creamy potato topped chicken pie

I haven't had a Gousto box in about two years now but I still make a lot of the recipes. Their version of cashew nut chicken is great and surprisingly easy (I've done it with tofu instead of chicken a few times as well).

And there's one with noodles and veg and some kind of cashew nut butter sauce which I make all the time. It's a dead old recipe now but it's really good.

I also like the butternut and bacon risotto from Hello Fresh, that one's on our fortnightly rotation too.

I made this one tonight, but ignored the 10-minute timings, and left it to simmer gently for 1.30 hours. It was really tasty, but I don't think the flavour would have been as nice and the chicken as tender if I'd stuck to their times. I added garlic focaccia as we used a meal for 2 go around 3 of us!

Totally forgot to add the link! It's the fruity Moroccan chicken stew.

I had the same tonight, stuck to the timings (albeit I maybe cooked it a few minutes longer to make sure the chicken was cooked) - I really liked it! I don’t think I’d guess it only took ten minutes, but it’s one id cook again.
What’s tomato frito when it’s at home though? Just looked like half a can of chopped tomatoes to me!
