New thread for sharing Gousto recipes

I enjoyed the last Gousto thread but it seems to have disappeared so thought I would start a new one.
Anyone had a box this week?
I have had the Goan style basa and spinach curry which was really good. Also had the pork with bubble and squeak mash and the sesame hoisin chicken. All have been lovely so far. Just the Thai red curry to go now which I am looking forward to.

We still have the lemon chicken, chicken rogan Josh and Korean stew to make

We're having the chicken with colcannon this evening, and the peanut chicken noodles tomorrow.

I've really been enjoying cooking new things and getting the kids to try new stuff. It is expensive but so convenient!

We had the fruity Moroccan chicken stew last night and it was delicious!

I had the peanut chicken noodles which I thought was really tasty but I'd use breast in the future, I don't enjoy a slimy thigh!

The lemony chicken with colcannon was nice too, huge portion.

We had the smoky chorizo cod with crispy potatoes last night and it was so good! I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was.

Has anyone else chosen the Chinese banquet this week? It looks great but slightly regretting my choice as it's 60 min long

We've had the spicy hoisin pork with ginger sesame greens, and the baked meatballs with tomato sauce and linguine.

We do tweak the recipes a bit. For the hoisin pork we added extra hoisin and we couldn't be bothered cooking the greens in the oven so we stir fried those.
For the meatballs we added garlic to the meatballs and tomato sauce. The meatballs dish was very filling, a generous portion

Nasi goreng tonight was delicious

I have had the hoisin pork with ginger greens before and really enjoyed it. The ginger greens added lots of flavour.

Just had the Korean beef stew. It takes a long time to cook but we enjoyed it

I’m a big fan of Gousto although there are weeks where I’m not that interested in the recipes. One recipe I did recently I liked so much I made again was the One Pot Herby Chicken Roast with Carrots and Leeks - tasted very French and was really good. Tonight we had Curried Haddock, Leek and Potato Chowder, which I didn’t fancy at all but loved it, I’d put either a little more water or a little less cream in next time though.

We had the crispy lemon chicken tonight. Really tasty!

We had the chicken schnitzel burger tonight, I wasn’t that keen on it and it’s not a recipe I’ll reorder. I keep all the recipes and make a note on them like ‘too spicy’ or ‘needs more spice’ or ‘didn’t like’ etc so I know if I order or make myself again.

I thought it had a slightly strange taste, I’m not sure if it was the panko breadcrumbs and smoked paprika combo, it was just ok nothing more. I also got a bit of the wine vinegar from the slaw caught in my throat and had a choking fit but that wasn’t really Gousto’s fault although I did curse the wine vinegar being added 😁 I just found it a very ‘meh’ dish.

Oh that’s a shame. I will give it a miss when it comes up again then!

We had the mustard salmon with crushed potatoes yesterday which was ok but nothing to write home about.

I wasn’t keen but my son told me the next day he really liked it so I guess it’s all down to personal taste.

We had the 3 cheese pasta bake last night from the everyday favourites. I thought it was awful, far too tomatoey and sweet, DH and DS thought it was ok but they weren’t fighting over the leftover portion.

Won’t be ordering that again.

It’s the chicken fajitas for us tonight, another from the everyday favourites and one that we order every 3 or 4 weeks.

Doing the gnocchi and chicken thigh thing tonight and Chinese Banquet tomorrow. Favourite so far has been salmon with coconut rice and hinari greens. So full of flavour.

Only one we haven’t enjoyed was a veggie spat Bol that was cloyingly sweet.

Hello! I wrote a post and then my phone died and I lost it so just placemarking but want to join in as I am loving Gousto at the moment. Just had the Moroccan chickpea, carrot and tomato traybake and it was very tasty.

Roasted butternut squash and lentil daal was a winner for us last week, I had to add rice though and I roasted the squash for much longer than the 15 mins that the recipe suggested.

This weeks delivery is Mango Chicken Skewers and Sweet Potato Rice, Sticky Beef Satay Wraps, and Sweet Chilli Basa with Pak Choi and Ginger Rice. We’re looking forward to all of them!
