It would have to be the Conjuring for me, and I do not scare easily.
It doesn't help either that it's based on a true story.

Woman in black. I don't really do scary/horror. It was all that squeaking..

Disneyfan1995 · 07/03/2015 23:58

Cape Fear... Couldn't sleep for days after that one!

RussellHowardsWonkyEye · 07/03/2015 23:59

I'm banned from scary movies after watching Wolf Creek with dh - note, do not watch while backpacking in Australia. The true story aspect (or aspects, I know it's not entirely truthful!) was also the most scary for me, but th fact that it was perfectly plausible, terrified me.

RJnomore · 07/03/2015 23:59

The ring.

I don't get scared.

Samara looks just like dd1 when she was aboutv9 and used to sleepwalk,

I didn't sleep for about four nights!

NoelHeadbands · 08/03/2015 00:00

The Omen for me, on the first time of viewing.

A combination of innocent youth and Catholic upbringing probably

southeastastra · 08/03/2015 00:00

the haunting from 1960s

LucidCamel · 08/03/2015 00:00

The Babadook.

forago · 08/03/2015 00:01

Event Horizon scared the crap out of me for some reason - I think because I watched it in a hotel in NY after a very spaced out weekend of partying and severe jet lag.

seanbonbon · 08/03/2015 00:03

The Ring for me too.
Used to love horror films till I saw this one, ruined all other scary films for me. Now I just can't watch themShock

ophiotaurus · 08/03/2015 00:04

The Ring. I watched it when I was at uni and had to have a friend sleep in my room with me afterwards.

CitronVert · 08/03/2015 00:07

Yes to Event Horizon. I went with DH to the pictures not knowing anything about it - I assumed it was a generic sci-fi thing, so the really scary stuff came as a massive shock.

I don't really do horror films, especially the newer torture films like Saw/Wolf Creek etc, although I do like the older ones (Exorcist, Omen, The Shining etc)

FishSlice · 08/03/2015 00:08

Saw.

Watched it years ago and it still haunts me to this day.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 08/03/2015 00:09

It

The last horror I watched because it kept me awake at night for days after. Can't even listen to the music they play in horrors anymore.

God alone knows why I watched it though, the book freaked me out enough!

onemississippi · 08/03/2015 00:10

forago Event Horizon was scary as fuck. Almost on a par with Ghost Ship.

CremeEggThief · 08/03/2015 00:11

The Shining.

RJnomore · 08/03/2015 00:12

See I don't find saw scary - twisted people don't really scare me.

The thing with the ring, when they found samara, I thought oh good that's it now - and she didn't stop...and man did it look like dd1 (may have shit myself once or twice when she came sleepwalking into my room in the middle of the night!)

SKYTVADDICT · 08/03/2015 00:17

Pet semetary! Petrified of gauge! The dead cute little boy

ifdaryldiesweriot · 08/03/2015 00:19

It would have to be the Conjuring for me, and I do not scare easily

You must scare pretty easily to find something like The Conjuring scary.

I drove home through a long wooded area and slept in an empty house after watching it at the cinema with friends. I slept soundly that night.

It's really not scary.

FiftyShadesofFey · 08/03/2015 00:21

28 Days Later was really scary for me. And when I was a teenager I saw a very old black and white film on the telly called Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte. I was terrifed for months after it. I saw it again recently and it was really lame!

StupidFlanders · 08/03/2015 00:23

The Devil and The Woman in Black for "horror"
Shutter island and Django for non-horror scary

Notmeagain1 · 08/03/2015 00:28

Amityville Horror for me. Watched it with my Gran as a kid and really freaked me out. I would walk pass and old house that looked just like the one in the movie. Was so glad when we moved and I didnt have to see that house again.

The ring was terrifying too.

Dancergirl · 08/03/2015 00:30

The Shining

We need to talk about Kevin - my heart was thumping all the way through as you KNEW something bad was going to happen, you just weren't sure exactly what.

UnalignedAnt · 08/03/2015 00:40

'Ringu' and 'A Tale of Two Sisters'. 'Mama' also has it's moments (but ending was cakk).

mumofboyo · 08/03/2015 00:47

I watched Insidious parts I & II a few months ago and, though the film itself wasn't scary, I had a dream about that bit where he's in 'the further (I think?)' and a ghost comes to him saying, "He's got your baby," over and over so he goes to his daughter's room to find another, scary ghost trying to take her and they fight. I woke up and my own dd was crying. It terrified me and I couldn't sleep after that Grin .
