PiggyMad · 26/05/2010 12:30

Hey ladies,
Am back from the interview and got the job! It actually felt really nice in there and I will be starting on Saturday morning. Quite excited! The staff seemed nice - a mix of young and middle-aged. And 75% staff discount!!!!! DP said I should do it for a few weeks and stock up on clothes then leave if I don't like it lol
Nice to see you back again yommy.
Hope you slept a bit better last night pelvic.
xxx

thislittlesisterlola · 26/05/2010 12:33

Hey Piggy, hope it goes well today. I know what you mean about the confidence boost- I'm almost missing work at the moment-I knew how to do my job, being at home and not having a role is hard to handle.
I think you can take evening primrose with previt's- hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about will arrive soon.

Hope the CBT goes well pelvic and your feeling better. (p.s Lola is a great name! )

Feeling okish today dp is annoying me at the moment- didnt even ask how doc's went or hoped it went ok. I had to txt him to tell him. It feels like he doesnt really care anymore as long as the baby is ok.
Turns out have I have a double ear infection.

My Mum and Dad going away tonight and am very irationally worried about them- am very close to my mum and am quite needy at the moment, teary just writing this.

Hope everyone else is well. Am catching up on tv too yommymommy.

PiggyMad · 26/05/2010 12:58

Hi thislittlesis - a double ear infection sounds really nasty sorry your dp isn't too sympathetic. Did you make him feel guilty for his lack of interest?! I always do that when dp has forgotten about something important to me/hasn't noticed new haricut etc. I don't think he does it on purpose - just can only have one thought in his mind at once!!

I'm sure your mum and dad will be fine and have a lovely time away - all refreshed to come and help out with the baby when he arrives! xx

thislittlesisterlola · 26/05/2010 15:42

Hey Piggy hows your day been?

I havent made him feel guilty, havent even mentioned it to be honest. He called on his lunch break which are really short as he making up hours he has missed to take me to the mw. one hand i feel bad to say- you dont sound interested or have any desire to cheer me up, because he is making up time because of me essentially.
He has just text me to see how im feeling, bit late but he's trying
A friend is coming over tomorrow for coffee am looking forward to a catch up. Going to be doing things from tomorrow til sat night so I'm hopeful this will make me feel bit more me again.

blissa · 26/05/2010 16:56

Hi ladies -wow lots to catch up on!

Congratulations on the getting the job Piggy . Am very at your 75% discount!! I used to work for Boots and they only gave 10%.. I have no idea about taking evening primrose oil with previts, maybe ask your pharmacist?

Ouch at the double ear infection Lola, you poor thing. I'm sure your mum and dad will have a lovely time away, where are they off to? Sounds like you have a busy few days ahead- don't wear yourself out too much

Good to see you back Yommy, thankyou for the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day. How long is dh away for this time?

Glad the dentist went ok choclab, sounds like keeping busy is helping. How are you getting on with the books?

How are you today Pelvicfloor? How did the CBT go?

Didn't manage to get on here last night, I feel like I haven't stopped. Am so busy running my dcs (especially dd1) to places. She is at rehearsals for a school play tonight and then has Brownies later. Dd2 has a friend over for tea. Have been helping out at pre-school these past couple of mornings. Thank God it's half term next week!

thislittlesisterlola · 26/05/2010 17:11

Piggy im so sorry! i clearly had a really dumb moment i somehow totally missed your post about getting the job!!!!! 75% discount you lucky thing- love dp's advice there too! Congratulations!

Wow blissa you are busy! Hope you get a bit of rest over the bank holiday/ halfterm.
m+d are off to see my grandparent's for a couple of days. I get a bit nervous since being pg when they arent only in the next village or so away.

Hope everyone has had a good day/has a good evening. Will try to come back later but for now i need to go and do my best nigella impression... bet she doesnt have to do a pile of washing up first!

Beauregard · 26/05/2010 21:51

Evening all

So pleased you got the job piggymad
What a perk of the job to get 75% off.Think of all the lovely things you can get.

thislittlesisterlola-How are you feeling ?did the GP give you antibiotics?
My mom and dad go away on saturday and every time they go away i feel lost and worry about them.I can understand how you feel but time will fly by and they will be back before you know it.

Blissa-sounds like you need a rest

I have been diagnosed with Body Dismorphic Disorder, anxiety and unexpressed anger .
The psychologist gave me my care package info today.I feel relieved in a way that i know why i feel the way i do and that it is not normal to feel like that. She makes me feel so calm and i leave and then the anxiety creeps in.Hopefully i can learn the skills from her.She really knows her stuff.
Got more 'homework' to do before next week.

thislittlesisterlola · 27/05/2010 12:19

Hi all,

Pelvic- hope the 'homework' goes well. You sound positive. I hate it when the anxiety creeps in. I was doing so well this morning then spoke to mum and its all coming back again. I'll be glad when they are home tomorrow.
Had lovely catch up with my friend- brought flowers and biscuits- I forget some people can be so kind.
Had bit of a sob on DP last night feel better for it. I think he kind of understands.
I'm going to a knit and natter group next week- am scared but quite looking forward to it.
I also need to talk to the gardener who's does all the lawns today- may need another biscuit first.
Hope everyone has a good day

Lola

PiggyMad · 27/05/2010 12:26

Hi ladies!
Lola, how sweet of your friend to bring flowers and biscuits Glad you managed to tell dp how you feel. I think my dp sometimes finds it uncomfortable when I get upset as he isn't sure what to say or how to react as there's nothing he can really 'do' when I'm feeling anxious, but hopefully your dp understands how you feel a bit more.

Pelvic the homework sounds interesting - is it like cbt homework? It must be a relief to get a diagnosis I imagine - knowing that it isn't jsut 'the way you are', but is illness and due to other factors. The counsellor sounds like just the right person for you as well.

blissa how's the kids' taki service going !? Sounds like you've been busy!

My friend found out she's having a little girl yesterday so we're off pink baby shopping tomorrow afternoon so quite excited. Have already been looking at Monsoon online catalogue picking out my 'uniform'

Hope everyone else is well xx

thislittlesisterlola · 27/05/2010 13:43

Hey Piggy, aww pink shopping, how exciting. I love baby shopping Monsoon uniform shopping sounds excellent though. I must have a look in there on sat.
Am still trying to get the courage to see the gardener. It was lovely to see my friend, means a lot she cares, cant remember the last time i got given flowers.
Dp even said he thought nothing he could do or say would make me feel better... i think i will tell him what he can do.

right im going to find the gardener im getting annoyed with myself now!

YommyMommy · 27/05/2010 14:11

Afternoon Ladies,

Just having a wee check in, very boring my end today The weather has been pants. So far we have made rice crispie cakes and I am now wondering how I can convince the boys that clearing out their old clothes id fun, lol!

Congrats on the Job piggy and at 75% discount! I would LOVE that!!!! When do you start??

lola - what do you have to see the gardener about thats making you nervous, lol! Hope it goes well and how lovely of your friend to bring flowers! Nice how much they can cheer you up, isn;t it?!

Pelvic - good luck with the homework! Sounds like you are making good progress with the councellor

Was DS last day at nursery today for almost a week, anyone else think they get too many holidays?? lol! We have his summer trip in 2 weeks, so looking forward to that.

Anyway, hope you are all having a lovely day today - anxiety free x x x

Beauregard · 27/05/2010 22:49

Hi

piggymad-Yes it is CBT homework. It is helping me to realise my behaviours already.Glad i have finally found a psychologist that listened and understood.

yommymommy-I can imagine that a hen night would make you anxious,i would hate it.You sound determined to get through it though .

thislittlesisterlola-Why do you need to see a gardener?

Been calmer today, lets hope it lasts ey.

PiggyMad · 28/05/2010 10:29

sorry you're having a rough time of it choclab.
What happened at work? I'm sure your boss will be understanding.
Good work on emailing the counsellors - hopefully they will get back to you soon.
Let us know how you're feeling - I'm around until lunchtime if you want to chat xx

thislittlesisterlola · 28/05/2010 11:39

Hey Choclab, sorry to hear your having a bad time. Am here on and off til early afternoon if you want a vent. Hope work goes ok for you.

Hey Piggy, how you doing today?

Sorted the gardener yesterday- just needed him to cut the lawn. Looks as good as a Wimbledon green now
Sorted the courtyard out this morning just need some weedkiller now!
Am determined to get some new clothes this month, cheap ones,I am getting big and nothing seems to fit very well. 5 weeks to go.
Am in an ok place at the moment, nervous about baby shower but hopefully be ok when im there. Will be wearing a pop up tent at this rate though!

Hope eveyone is having a good day x

PiggyMad · 28/05/2010 11:48

Hey lola,
glad you sorted the gardener! When is the baby shower? It's probably normal to feel nervous about it - I get anxious about any sort of gatherings but am usually ok when I'm there.
I'm alright but have been a little edgy and snappy at dp the past week. Think it is combination of period and being a bit anxious about starting new job and the comedown from the interview etc - I sometimes get stressed for a few days after anxious events. I'm really worried that I daren't go to thenew job in the morning - have visions of myself just getting to the door and then running off! It's the feeling of being trapped there that I don't like and the thoughts of 'what if I feel sick?' 'what if I go all dizzy and pass out' 'what if I just want to run away but can't?' etc etc. I keep telling myself that I can always leave if I'm not feeling well or don't like it, but am annoyed with myself as I really want to go and just enjoy it and make some new friends etc
Anyway, sorry for ranting. xx

YommyMommy · 28/05/2010 12:19

Afternoon Girls!!

Choc - sorry you are having a bad few days Hope your boss is understanding today! Let us knowhow you get on! {{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

Piggy - try not to worry to much about the new job - what sort of hours will you be working?? I know exactly what you mean by feeling trapped! If you feel you are starting to have a wobble, try to distract yourself! Go looking for a customer to talk to or staff memeber! When I am in tesco ro town or the park if I feel i'm starting to go I will talking to anyone, lol! They prob think I;m a little mad, bit it totally works for me!

5 weeks til a new baby lora- how exciting! There will be so much going on at the shower I bet you will barly think about anxiety! Think of al the lovely thing you will be getting

Blissa - hope you are well!

Think we are having another day in the house today DS 2 is having one of his days tantrum after tantrum and DS1 is loaded with the cold! Not to mention the weather is crappy again! When is summer going to begin? Feel like I am constantly freezing! Have my heating on today!

Beauregard · 28/05/2010 12:53

Hello

Choclab -Sorry you are feeling low
((hugs))Hope you get on ok at work today.

Piggymad-Good luck for your first day(always the worst)I am sure it will fly by and you will be so busy trying to take everything in.

Im feeling anxious today too.Must be something in the air lol.

Hope everyone else is ok?

blissa · 28/05/2010 16:30

A bit late but ((hug)) choclab. Hope your day has been ok and that it went ok with your boss. My periods have started being a bit funny lately, I've always had 28 day regular cycles, but now it's seems start a couple of days earlier.

I'm sure tomorrow will be fine Piggy, maybe you could treat yourself to something at the end of the day? Not that I am encouraging to spend your wages before you've earnt them or anything

Is the baby shower tonight lola? I'm sure you will have a great time. It's hard to know what to put on at the moment with the weather chopping and changing all the time, when the sun is out it's lovely and warm here, but when it goes in it's freezing.

Is ds back to school on tuesday Yommy? My dcs have broken up today for the week. I hope his cold clears up soon. Got the letter to say that my ds is starting in reception in September. I'm happy that he is,I think he's ready, but it will feel like the end of an era leaving pre-school!

Sounds like you've found a good psychologist Pelvic. How are you feeling now, any calmer?

I think I'm getting a stye- never had one before. Hopefully it will stay sunny so that if it gets big and nasty I can hide it with sunglasses! Dd1 has a friend staying over tonight so they will probably be up late. I'm so glad they've got a week off, I need the break!

PiggyMad · 29/05/2010 15:40

Hello ladies!
Back from my first shift and it went surprisingly well! I had a couple of wobbly moments which were possibly anxiety, possibly down to the fact I was so nervous I couldn't eat any breakfast so had two bites of banana and half a cup of giner tea at 8.30am and nothing until 1.30pm Back in tomorrow at 10am anyway.

I've had a stye before blissa very annoying - don't rub it like I did hehe. Hope the dd's sleepover went well!

Hi pelvic how are you feeling today? Did the anxiety fade at all yesterday?

yommy I've had the heating on today - miserable day! how are the ds? Is your dp away for long this time?

Hello lola and kildare hope you're both well xxx

PiggyMad · 29/05/2010 15:41

oops and choclab hope you're feeling ok and have not been googling !!

blissa · 29/05/2010 18:25

Glad your first day went well Piggy well done for getting through the wobbles! Make sure you eat better before you start tomorrow.

My eye doesn't look any worse, it's tiny but I know it's there. The weather has been so crap today, we were supposed to go out with friends to a fete we go to every year, but we didn't go as it has been so wet and cold. Ds was so upset as he was looking forward to riding a donkey! Dp has taken dd2 and ds up the road to see the horses in a field to compensate!

Dd1 is staying at her friends tonight- the one who stayed here last night. I have done lots of baking this afternoon. Just enjoying the peace and a cuppa before I go and ice my vic sponge.

Hope everyone else is ok

xx

PiggyMad · 30/05/2010 19:09

Hi ladies,
second shift went well too - felt a bit queasy for the first half hour due to nerves and on edge a bit, but generally went well! Managed to have brekkie as well before I left the house this morning
Hoping I get the staff discount card soon!!!

Fancy sharing the vic sponge blissa?! I'm crap in the kitchen (or lazy...) Hope ds enjoyed watching the horses!

Has anyone seen the SATC film yet? Am dragging dp to see it with me tomo (I say 'drag', actually he has looked up the times prebooked the tickets without any prompting )

Hope everyone is well xx

thislittlesisterlola · 30/05/2010 21:05
