CONGRATULATIONS piggy . Sounds a romantic proposal, when my dp asked me we were in a nightclub and he asked me what he should do/say 10 years later... going for a loooooooong engagement us!

choclab, I'm glad you are feeling reassured. I will echo Piggy and kildare and hope you can put this worry behind you. Finding out about the CBT is great.

Hope your appointment goes ok later kildare

You poor thing Pelvic, I hope you don't have to wait too long. I have never had a GA, they freak me out too.

It's very hot and I am catching up on the housework in this hovel, I'm nearly there, just got to hoover throughout and wash the floor

Awww miss you to NEMT .....glad your ok , hope you get PC working and back with us soon xx

hows everyone els ?

kildare34 · 25/06/2010 19:37

Well I'm back, Everything went well with the scan!!!! I am relieved to say the least. I had an abdominal scan and an internal scan just to make sure that they could see everything. Internal scan was fine, as you said before Choclab, when you have had 2 kids, everything else is a piece of cake!!!!

So report is going back to GP but just to put into words what the radiographer said to me. It will be interesting to see how long my next cycle is. Maybe it just was one of those things... Thanks everyone for well wishes!

Blissa - You've just reminded me, I have to wash and hover floors!!! Stuff it, it can wait till tomorrow! x

NEMT - Thats a bummer regarding your pc connections, hope it gets sorted soon. x

Choclab - Did you manage to book CBT sessions? How are you feeling today?

Going to chill some wine now!!!

Beauregard · 25/06/2010 20:15

Choclab and Kildare-So pleased that your scans went well and you are reassured.Such invasive things to have done but worth it.

Piggymad-Congratulations to you

Blissa-Sounds like you have been busy.I spent the morning shopping and cleaning and then burnt myself out and had to lie down.

Hi to Neverenoughmetime and Thislittlesisterlola,yommymommy

choclab · 25/06/2010 20:59

Kildare .. thats fantastic news ..so pleased for you ..
funny how we both had same things in last 2 days bet you are relieved all over ...and yes could be one of those things , see how to go next month , mine do change from month to month sometimes , from 24 days 25/26/ have known 31 ..stress can also pay a huge part to it all ..
enjoy your wine and sleep well ..

Blissa- i have been cleaning like you all day , so i can enjoy WE with DC , got our fate tomorrow and my DD is in the maypole ..so will be nice to see that ..

Pelvic -How you doing ?

i called about CBT go next Friday for first consultation then lady will asses who i need to see and then the classes will start i guess ...shocking amount of money ..so hope it works .. but got to try ..

feeling ok bit down with few mummys from school , one min they talk to me next im off the list ...
im so not in the crowd ...i just get hurt when i think im getting there then i dont ..sorry rambling on ...

got a few issues with my DD at school at mo , shes not doing to well with maths and getting her down cos she cant do the work , so tricky , plus she bought a letter home saying there going to show her and the class a DVD on ....herm...the birds and bees
shes almost 10 but a very young one ....
feel very anx about how she will react and the implications may hold ..ie..growing up and not my little baby girl i guess ...silly i know ...
tried to have a little talk the other month , very gentle i was and she just burst into tears saying she doesnt want to grow up ...so i didnt go any further ...so who knows how she will react next week ..yikes ..
although one good thing , school have invited all mums dads to come ina nd se the DVD before they show children , so at least i will know what there showing ...

anyone els got DC been through this ? any advice ?

sorry for rant just playing on my mind a little ..

hope everyone els ok?

Beauregard · 25/06/2010 21:23

I am never in the crowd choclab.Honestly if the moms at our school are anything to go by.It's like being back at school.Bloody cliques.

I have the munchies tonight and have practically eaten a whole family sized bag of Doritos and 2 mint feasts
I have hurt my jaw more now from all the crunching.

thislittlesisterlola · 25/06/2010 21:36

Hi all
A big congratulations to you piggy thats wonderful! Im with kildare Dresses!!!!
Dont worry about family or your clock, enjoy yourself
choclab so pleased for you regarding your scan, cbt could really help too.

kildare glad everything went well at the scan

pelvic hello! Sorry to hear about needing an op, GA is not pleasant, hopefully they'll fix your jaw and you wont be in any more pain. Shopping and cleaning... you ladies are putting me to shame! I am shattered just doing the washing up.

blissa look at you doing all the cleaning! Brave lady in this heat! Hope you are well

choclab Im afraid I cant advise about the bird and bees, however mathswise: are there any key areas she is struggling with? I often find at this age a confidence boost can really help. Having a good grasp of quite basic adding, subtracting and multiplying, dividing can really aid them with further more complex work.
Have you checked out the bbc schools website? I also find online learning through games mainly, also helps and is quite fun. Hope that was some help. Also you have the summer hols coming up and could do some extra practice if you/she wants. WHS/ amazon etc do some quite good maths workbooks as well. At this age I think a confidence boost can do wonders.

Anyhow... Things my end are quite good had a lovely morning with MIl just went for a potter in town was fretting as it was 1st time we had spent together just me and her, had a wobble about an hour before but was ok.
Had twinges and niggles all day. Dp is out tonight and whilst I very much doubt this will turn into a live birth thread am bit incomfy. Have also gorged on popcorn and icecream! Pains pretty much gone now- ahh this stage is so frustrating!
Sorry for the extremely long post!
Hope yommy and never are all well.
Sorry if i missed anyone
Enjoy the weather ladies, think of me with my poundland washing up bowl for my feet!
Lola

choclab · 25/06/2010 21:36

pelvic - thanks that made me laugh ....
i know what you mean about the cliques ..

yesterday was standing with DD waiting for seat at swimming lesson , raised conversation to a mum ,(at our school) who talks a bit from time to time ,chatty with everyone els ...so i start making polite conversation ...getting little back ..then we go to sit down on empty bench , i go to end thinking she may follow , no she sat in middle , so i was alone whiles tother mums from our school sat with her ...
i know sounds silly , but i really tried ..seems my face just doesnt fit ...

just feed up with always trying and getting little back ..

should go back to my old ways and just raise a hello when i feel like it ..that way i dont feel like this ...
think thats the way forward ...

mint feast sounds yummy ..i love the choc ones , specially with that hard chunk of chocolate in the middle ..yumm.

choclab · 25/06/2010 21:50

thanks thislittle - good advice , it is her confdience that is the issue here i think , ,we have been having private lessons for her for 2 months along with alot of support from school ...still struggling ..
shes def better with visual aids to help her ..thats what both teachers are saying ..
just have to stick with it and see how things go ..

Glad you had nice time with MIL , do you get on well ?
i been lucky with mine shes great ...there but not to much if you know what i mean ...
hope your surrviving in this heat to , so hot ..

have you been getting those braxton hicks ? i remember those ...alot ....body getting ready ...

kildare34 · 25/06/2010 22:27

Choclab - I know what are we both like getting our scans within days of each other Thankfully it all worked out. I am glad you have sorted out the CBT session. It will be the making of you How rude of the mother at the swimming pool, stuff her! The politics of the school gates can be quite tiring and I would agree that it can remind you of what it was like to be back in school. Regarding the birds and bees conversation, my ds is 7 so we haven't reached that stage, but give it time.... I remember my mother told me the facts of live in stages, i.e. first stage - periods. Actually it makes me laugh now, my mother when explaining sex, she said it was between a man and a woman on their wedding night. FFS!!! Good Catholic Irish Mother!!!

Pelvic - I love mint feasts!

Thislittle - Glad you had a lovely day with your MIL. Its getting very exciting! Are you all organized for the big day?

Going to get another glass of wine...

YommyMommy · 25/06/2010 22:45

PiggyMad · 26/06/2010 13:46

Hi ladies,
Having awful day Went to bed with headache and woke up with awful migraine. Hate them and get one every couple of months - generally related to hormones but |I think the muggy weather has brought it on. Went back to bed and had some water and waited an hour or two to see if it went as due in work at 2pm but knew by 11am it wasn't going to lift so rang work to say I wasn't going in and the new deputy manager was horrible to me
Basically said I was fine yesterday and had I taken any medication and what exactly was wrong and I should have rang earlier etc. I felt awful and started to cry - hate ringing in anyway and feeling sick, banging head and eyes having to lie still in the dark to prevent head exploding and vomiting and then she made me feel like shit. Then she started asking what was really wrong as I shouldn't be getting so upset about a headache So angry but so upset as really don't want to go back now and felt I was doing so well

Am feeling marginally better after sleeping the worst of it off but still groggy behind eyes (probs shouldn't be on comp!)
In need of virtual hug if anyone is around?

Present sounds lovely choclab and nice to see you back yommy. glad scan went well kildare xx

choclab · 26/06/2010 16:16

Piggy - big hug] how you feeling now ?

sounds as though your boss not very understanding at all ....how was she when you put phone down any better ?
as regards to crying on the phone , iv done that before , its all your emotions coming out ...feeling ill , anxiety , worried about not going into work and what they will say ...probably all got on top of you ...

try not to worry x

iv got bad head today ..its the heat i hate it , just back from 4 hrs at fate ...grrrr and £25 lighter ..going to lye on bed and watch come dine with me if its on ..

hope you feel better soon .
x

PiggyMad · 26/06/2010 16:27

Thanks choclab,
feeling bit better now and not as emotional . A friend from work texted me saying same woman made someone cry this morning so maybe theres more to it? The main boss is in tomorrow so might mention it to her.

Sounds like you coped really well at the fete Hope the dc spent their fiver wisely!!

Probably should have a bit of toast or something as not eaten all day and have ventured out of bed now!
xx

YommyMommy · 27/06/2010 10:13

Morning Ladies,

Piggy - what a horrible boss!!! I hate people who can make you feel like that! I would def speak to your main boss as she should really be speaking to you in that tone either - you are adults for goodness sakes! Has she never been off ill??? She has made me angry now, lol!

Choclab - we spent our day at at a festival/fete too! It was a nice day although I felt a bit suffocated when we were at the fair ground - to hot, too many poeple and the music was so loud! Think I was just feeling trapped and couldn;t get a proper breath. IYKWIM? Was okay once we left and then spent the rest of our evening at the park - never got home til after 7.30! Boys were shattered! Got a lie in til 8.30 this morning

Hey to everyone else! Hope you all have a lovely sunday! I am going to chill today and really tidy/clean the house! I badly need done!

blissa · 27/06/2010 20:37

Well the flag is down and put away for the next 4 years... what was that??!!

I spent £30 at least at our summer fete yesterday choclab, the dcs enjoyed it though, and I got to enjoy a Pimms with my friend on the grass.

Hope you are feeling better Piggy, at your boss speaking to you like that.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend xx

PiggyMad · 28/06/2010 10:00

Hi all,
I'm feeling better thanks. Went to wok on Sunday and complained about deputy manager and my boss was really nice. Had a good day actually even though I went in with my resignation letter 'just in case!'.
Am in this aft too but must get my book club book read as I agreed to lend it to someone else halfway through the month and now am very behind with it .
The fitness magazines sound good choclab - good for you for finding the motivation to get on the treadmill too!
Hey blissa, fete sounded good - what a good day to enjoy some pimms with a friend
Hi Yommy - I know what you mean about feeling suffocated in the heat and around all those people. Sounds like you did fine though!
I was thinking about this the other day, thinking about the progress I and all of us really have made and I think the main thing with anxiety is just giving it time. Understanding it and where it has come from then just leaving time. What do you think? I think that once you've had one good day, you get a bit moe positive and they sort of build up to more normality where the anxiety is the exception rather than the rule.
Very annoying though if you're in the middle of it and can't see any breakthrough.
Hugs all round from me today xxx

thislittlesisterlola · 28/06/2010 20:01

Hi all,

Oh piggy my heart went out to you, I know how horrible some bosses/deputies can be- have also been on the receiving end. Hope you're ok and your head is better. They are bloody nasty things migrines.
blissa pimms on the lawn, sounds lovely. glad you had a good time.
yommy I need a cleaning day too... putting off til tomorrow. Glad you had a nice day its horrible feeling hot, bothered and people everywhere- urgh!
kildare hope you're ok am definitely all ready for the babe... need a bra but minus that all done.
choclab The cliques sound just horrible makes me want to come with you- we'll show them! I tend to just say hello to ppl and occasionally have a bit of a convo but mostly I am socially recluse.

Had an ok day bought the last of the baby bits and a couple of bargains in the mothercare sale for me- I actually have trousers that fit now

Anxiety isnt so good today, or as dp said im being paranoid- prefer the term heightened anxiety tbh. Paranoid doesnt make me feel better!
Think the heat and constant hot hands and feet is making me feel anxious. dp has gone out and I'm worried, changes in routine when I feel like this only makes me worse. I just want cuddles on the sofa with my feet in a bucket. Also agreed to go with my folks to have lunch with my great aunt later in the week- obviously my dad caught me at a good time as I know this particular aunt winds me up no end and is very judging (not that i should care what a very elderly lady I hardly ever see thinks) cue more anxiety. Had a bloody nose all day which is a sure sign i am stressed and worried. I was doing so well! Thanks for the hug piggy

Hope everyone else is ok
Lola
please cross your fingers for a cooler day tomorrow I am boiling and need chocolate ice cream!

PiggyMad · 28/06/2010 20:08

Hi Lola,
Well done on getting your last bits and sorry to hear about the heightened anxiety. I care too much about what people think too - even though I try to rationalize it and say it isn't important etc but I hate people thinking badly of me or not liking me

Go and settle down on the sofa lola and pop ssomething nice on the tv and get yourself a cool drink. I'm online a bit if you want some company ;)

YommyMommy · 28/06/2010 21:31

Evening Ladies!

Yeah Blissa pimms on the lawn does sound good Can we all come over tomorrow and enjoy some on your lawn?? Hear you are all having wonderful sunny weather down there!

Choclab - hope the running goes well! I think excersise def helps with the anxiety!! Where are you off to on holiday?? Lucky sod! lol!

Piggy - glad you spoke to the main boss and got things sorted! I def agree with anxiety getting better over time! Thats exactly how I feel about it, once you start dealing with it and having good days it gets much easier to cope with! Lets just hope over time we will all be anxiety free!

lora - sounds like you are all organised for baby I'm excited for a new arrival on the thread Hope you are relaxing as much as possible making the most of your "Me time - it will soon be a thing of the past Its all good though!

Had a pretty chilled day today - never done much had 2 nursery mums over in the afternoon with their little ones and we had tea at friends house tonight! Going to head to bed n read some more of my book - last of the twilight books its getting really exciting now!!! Summer holidays start tomorrow! My DH is off for 6 weeks over the summer Glad he will be here to help out with the boys over the hols!!

Hope you are all having a good night x x x

choclab · 29/06/2010 07:55

Piggy-Glad work went ok , and your dep manager was more understanding with you , and you didnt have to resign ..

yoummy-sounds like a good afternoon with mums round , be nice to have DH round all summer enjoy your book.

my day started ok , then went to shops with DC to get clothes for our hols , said would treat them if good , well did clothes a bit had lunch then got them treat on understanding that then mummy wanted to go in 1 shop so they must behave ...well they played up big time running in and out of clothes , hiding , messing about i got so srtessed ...came home with not alot ....but a headache ..then got home to discover the shoes i bought were to small , and the bag i had some running clothes in id left in the shop ...and the shorts i bought DH he hated ....grrr so today i have to go alll the way back to see if can find bag and return other bits ...
