Hi choclab!
Hopefully scan won't be too long! How about favourite perfume for your sis and then maybe something from Thornton's with 'Happy 40th' on? (maybe she won't want that flagging up though!?)
I've been cracking on with my work today and just had a walk to m&s but my hayfever has gone mad - it's always after I get back in that the watering eyes and runny nose starts, not actually while I'm out in it!
Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the sun - I'm also more of a shade person myself xxx

thislittlesisterlola · 22/06/2010 18:23

Hello my fellow shade seeking friends

choclab I think your right about the last weeks being the worst. dates- 10th July scan says 8th july. Not long but I am bored. I dont think I've been this bored since I was a student. I just cant wait to meet my little man!
You have achieved a lot me than me today! I've eaten alot of peanut butter and drank alot of raspberry leaf tea. Hopefully the hosp. will call you in the next couple of days. I am a rubbish present buyer Im afraid I like piggy's idea perfume and food- I'm putting that on my bday list!

piggy hayfever is awful have you tried haymax? its all natural and looks like a lipbalm you pop it under your nose. Worked quite well for me. I use saline eye drops too. Hope your work has gone well today.

I probably should shower or make dinner... decisions, decisions!

PiggyMad · 22/06/2010 19:21

Hi lola,
mmmm peanut butter - love the stuff! I have seen that stuff in holland and barrett but being a cheapskate i just use vaseline - may look like a dog with a constant wet nose but does the job - sort of!

choclab - just had another idea - does your sis have a pandora charm bracelet? My mum has one and every occasion i get her a charm - they're about £20 but you can get some really nice ones. Or a nice watch from Next or M&S?
(Can you tell I like buying things )

thislittlesisterlola · 23/06/2010 17:08

Afternoon all

Well my day has been busy with drinking gallons of raspberry leaf tea and peanut butter on just about anything!
Have no motivation to do anything at the moment.
My boss ringing up last week is still really bugging me! I need to write them a letter and seriously putting it off just not in that place where I can deal with it.
I'm not getting any niggles or anything on the labour front- I, tbh am pretty clueless (I didnt think I was pg I thought I was getting up too early and had a mild virus) odd twinges here and there I assume is jsut part and parcel. I just dont want to be so late im induced- more hospt time

I need to start dinner and do the washing up-urgh!
Sorry for the whinge! How are you lovely ladies doing in the sunshine?

Lola x

blissa · 23/06/2010 20:21

Hi ladies

Blimey it's hot!

How do you find the raspberry leaf tea Lola? I remember drinking when I was waiting for dd2- never liked the stuff! I know the waiting is hard, even harder in this heat, but baby will be here soon. It's perfectly natural to have worries and be emotional.

How is work going Piggy? You poor thing suffering with hayfever, it's awful.

You sound a lot more positive choclab. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your scan.

Don't like the sound of that film NEMT! I'm glad the party went well.

Had a lovely day at my sisters the other day, the drive was fine! Been helping at pre-school the past couple of days and then watched dd1s sports day this afternoon. Need to spend tomorrow morning catching up on housework and then I have to take ds to a meeting at his new school!

Dds have just got back from brownies so am going to put them to bed and then have a glass of wine. Couldn't have drink whilst I was watching the footie this afternoon

COME ON ENGLAND!!

hey blissa sounds like you have had a lovely couple of days. How was sports day? Hope it wasnt too hot. Ooh a nice cold glass of wine, please have one for me had 3 cups of the tea. I quite like it, its made by heath and heather they have added the raspberry as well so tastes quite good. Im worried i dont have the right one was yours pinky in colour? It def. says raspberry leaf tea and has warnings for early pg women on it. choclab- hope you're ok not been to any classes- hopst. birth planned with gas and air and hopefully nothing else but open minded that i might want more. Sleeping is quite uncomfy but we have a fan so its not too bad. The heat definitely has made me more tired. Am getting impatient but more in a lets just get on with it so i can have cuddles with my baby way. Hope everyone is enjoying this sunshine. Think of me with my hot feet in a poundland washing up bowl lola x sorry for the format on phone. Lola x

PiggyMad · 24/06/2010 18:27

Good luck for this evening choclab - I'm sure all will be fine and I don;t think that it matters where in your cycle you are?? Not sure though.

Once it's all done and dusted you need to put the whole episode behind you and stop doubting yourself and the doctors.

Fingers crossed for you but I know you will be fine!

kildare34 · 24/06/2010 18:32

Good luck Choclab! I second what Piggy has said you will be fine. Actually I have my scan tomorrow and I am bricking it!!! I am getting a abdominal scan so I have to drink 1.5lt from 3 p.m (scan is at 5 p.m.) Let us know how you get on.

Beauregard · 24/06/2010 21:15

Hi
Sorry i have not been on for a bit

Kildare-Good luck with your scan tomorrow.I remember the last scan i had when pregnant with dd2 and i drank so much i was nearly peeing myself and i was told i could go and let a bit out lol.Not easy you know.

Choclab-Thinking of you having scan

Lola-I feel for you suffering in this heat. Not long now though.

I got some bad news yesterday regarding the TMJ i need an op with general anesthetic to move my jaw back to where it should be
Getting anxious already and i dont even know when it is.

kildare34 · 24/06/2010 21:31

Hi Pelvic, glad to have you back Going under GA can be daunting but its justs like going for a very short nap! Excuse my ignorance, what does TMJ stand for? Thanks for the good wishes!

Choclab - Are you back yet, hope you are ok.

Beauregard · 24/06/2010 22:13

Thanks Kildare
TMJ stands for Temporomandibular joint disorder. My joint has come out of the cartlidge and wont go back without surgery.
I have had a general once before but pre kids and anxiety. Now i know what actually happens when you have a G.A it feels more scary.

PiggyMad · 24/06/2010 23:07

Hi ladies,
evening kildare - hope your scan goes ok
hi again pelvic - that shounds nasty about the tmj and operation. Hopefully you will hear from a consultant about the procedure to put your mind at rest? How is the cbt homework going?
I had a couple of iffy days with the anxiety yesterday and teh day before - I think it was because of my period and the heat making me a bit woozy - then I panicked that it was anxiety iykwim? Much better day today though and good news...
dp proposed to me this evening when we went for a walk around teh park quite excited! Bit offended that my parents' first question was 'are you pregnant?'
Anyway, off to bed for me xx

kildare34 · 24/06/2010 23:21

OMG!!! Congratulations Piggy, that's brilliant news Lol at your parents reaction!!! Familys can be hilarious. So when will you set a date or will you wait a while?

Pelvic - I know what you are saying about GA. Just think of the end result.

Choclab - Thinking of you

choclab · 25/06/2010 07:53

Morning all

scan went ok ....rushed like hell yesterday , managed to grab a quick bath before off to scan as DH came home early to lend a hand ....had scan late ..but she said all up there looked normal , ...saw really scared at time ...but she was nice and talked me through it ..so really pleased
cant quite believe had it actually as was last min appt ..so still taking it in ....

going to ring that refural about the CBT classes ..alot of money but i have got to try get some help for this anxiety ....

Piggymad-CONGRATULATIONS fantastic news ..did you have any idea he was going to do that ?enjoy telling everyone ..lovely news ..xx

Kildare-Good luck with your scan today ...are you having same as me ..internal or outside ? hope al goes well , let us know how it goes , be thinking of you ..x

Pelvic- How you doing ? nice to see you back , if your worried can you talk to anyone to ask questions to help you feel more reassured ....may help with the anxiety ..hope you have a better day today .x

NEMT , Yoummy -thislittle-blissa- hope your all ok ?

and anyone els i may have missed off sorry ..hope your all ok ..

be back later to see how all doing .

Thank you all so much for supporting me and putting up with my anxiouse threads at times , you have all been a great help ...knowing you ladies are there and listen has helped through this last week or so ....i hope i can do the same for you to xx

PiggyMad · 25/06/2010 08:28

Hi choclab - so pleased it all went well for you Did the scan hurt at all? How did it work? sorry for being nosey curious!!
Def try some cbt - I had a couple of sessions and what helped me was my counsellor taught me some tai chi to help me refocus when I'm anxious and stay grounded. DO you do anything like that or yoga? How did you get on with that book for dummies you got? Glad you can put the OC thing behind you and have a fresh start
The proposal wasn't a total shock as dp likes to be 'sure' of things and test the water etc (so unromantic!!) but I was quite pleasantly surprised when he got down on one knee by the lake!! We're thinking next year for wedding (maybe he thinks this will distract from my biological clock's ticking lol). Can feel the anxiety welling up already - don't think I want a big do with lots of people watching me.

Hope everyone's well today - sunshine again! xxx

choclab · 25/06/2010 09:40

Thanks , Piggy ,

Scan was ok , didnt hurt really just bit undignified but having having 2 children that went out the window years ago ..lol
i am looking at the CBT book but think /hope will do better face to face with someone ...
have made the call now waiting for reply on date to see someone ..
i must try tai chi sounds good , i do a boy balance class when got time , but the last few weeks iv let my anxiety get better of me and done nothing ...except worry ...so must get back into it as im sure does help.

Hope your family all pleased for you can spend weekend telling everyone
be back later x

kildare34 · 25/06/2010 10:12

Choclab - I am delighted for you! Fresh start for you, now onwards and upwards. Regarding my scan, my GP had booked me in for an internal but I was talking to the Radiographer and they basically do an abdominal scan first and if they can't see what they are looking for they do an internal as well. So say a little prayer for me that everything will be grand.

Piggy - Think of the dress shopping!!!

choclab · 25/06/2010 10:33

thanks , kildare,

will do , be thinking of you what time is your appt ?
incase you havent had one before , it didnt really hurt at all , i just kept thinking ..i just want to know so this is what i have to do ...(if makes sense ) ...

hope goes ok .. i know how you must be feeling ...{{{hug}}}
