Hello. I know that I'm asking for a lot from strangers, but could I please have some support on here, if anybody is able to spare any?

I will be there for anybody if you are also having a hard time.

I have love to spare if anybody else is struggling. I wanted to post this on MH but need it to disappear.

I'm not sleeping & I'm so stressed. I am having online counseling once a week (& they say that my anxiety & depression is off the scale) it's not really helping like I thought that it would, although I'm still grateful that I'm able to have it. It's making me talk about things & I don't want to talk about things.

I'm sorry but I really need to be vague. Next Monday, the 7th, I may be losing contact with my children.

I can't bare this pain. I'm trying so hard to hang on.

Please, is anybody able to be around & post every now & then until the 7th, just so that I don't feel so alone?

We can talk about anything, distraction, if anybody wants to talk about anything?

I have been on here for 10 years but this is a new name.

Oh hope you get some sleep! It makes such a big difference to how we feel doesn't it? Easier said than done though. I've been having rubbish sleep because my knee is very sore and worse at night. I've got a quiet weekend though so I'll just take it easy.

LowestLow · 03/10/2025 20:28

IsItAllMenopause I'm sorry about your knee. Does anything ease it?

Yes my anxiety is just overwhelming during the nighttimes at the moment.

I've been icing it today and will try painkillers again tonight. I just did too much walking when we were away. It's been sore on and off for years but I usually manage it better. Very frustrating as I can't do much when it's so sore. Dr said he will give me an injection but I'm not looking forward to that!
I think everything seems worse at night. I had a horrible experience with progesterone (part of HRT) last year. I would be really agitated at night. It was horrible.
Are you able to do any exercise in the day? I like swimming although can't really do it at the moment with my knee.

LowestLow · 03/10/2025 20:51

IsItAllMenopause I know somebody who had injections in their shoulder years ago & they still rave about how much it helped. Does the ice help? Have you tried a hot water bottle overnight?

I would like to go swimming by myself but I don't have the confidence. I do workout videos online sometimes.

I think it's worse right now as I'm not letting myself 'feel'. I'm holding it all in during the day & then I'm fighting against it at night.

Oh that's good to hear. I had one in my heel years ago and it was horrible! And didn't work for very long so not really worth the pain.
The pool I go to is pretty relaxed. There are a few fast swimmers but lots of people walking up and down so I might try that tomorrow.
Ah that sounds difficult. I actually think exercise is good for this as it feels like an outlet for anger or even sadness. Maybe you need a punchbag?!

LowestLow · 03/10/2025 21:57

IsItAllMenopause Oh I see why you are nervous about it then!
Me & my brother have this ongoing discussion about epidurals as he had for an op on his leg & I had one during labour, he thought it was awful & didn't work, & I think it was the best thing ever!

The walking in the water sounds nice, it is supposed to be good for aches & pains isn't it.

I can only do so much in the way of exercise as I also have other health problems, many years ago I used to love to run on the treadmill but I can't manage that now.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 03/10/2025 22:12

Yes it's funny how people can have such different experiences of things like that!
It's frustrating isn't it when you can't do the exercise want to do?
Anyway I'm off to bed soon. Hope you have a good sleep! Night night x

LowestLow · 03/10/2025 23:35

I hope that your knee isn't too sore tonight IsItAllMenopause. Night.

IsItAllMenopause · 04/10/2025 09:20

Thanks! I think it woke me up every hour along with the wind!
Hope you got a better sleep.

LowestLow · 04/10/2025 10:22

IsItAllMenopause Oh that's tough! The wind was alright here but it's rough today.

I got a little bit of sleep & had terrible nightmares.
I just can't stop my mind from overthinking everything.

I hope that you can rest your leg a bit today.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 09:39

Morning!
How are you today?
My leg is still sore. I'm hoping I'll get the injection this week.

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 10:24

Hi IsItAllMenopause It's a bad day today.

Do you go to the GP for the injection? I'm sorry it's still sore.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 10:36

Oh no sorry to hear that. Anything you want to taj about.
I think it will be this week.

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 11:01

IsItAllMenopause No it's ok. Thank you.

It's hard work, being seen as the one in the wrong every second of every day in my life.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 12:17

Yes it must be very upsetting and frustrating x

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 13:22

I'm trying to think of happy things like things that my children enjoy doing with me. We all enjoy playing board games, & card games. Nobody can take that from us.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 13:48

Yes hold on to that.
Mine used to love card games when they were young. Still do but it is rare we are all together anymore.

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 13:55

IsItAllMenopause Do you play cards by yourself? I do sometimes.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 16:40

No never. Might start though! What do you play?

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 17:12

IsItAllMenopause I play Solitaire, Clocks or 11's. Nobody has ever heard of Clocks or 11's but I just googled them & they do actually exist!

I find them good for stress relief (well, normally)

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 17:38

Oh I haven't heard of them either! Although it's a running joke in our family that I can never remember any card games. We've been playing rummy for years and I always ask how to play it.
When mine were a bot younger they used to love spoons. Have you heard of that. I think it's the same as piggy but you use spoons (one less than the number of players). It's great fun. Everyone ends up scrabbling around trying to snatch a spoon before anyone else.

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 18:11

IsItAllMenopause I just googled Spoons, that one looks good!

We like Go Fish, stick or twist & Donkey.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 18:40

Yes I think you will like it! Although it can get a bit frenzied!
Ha yes I remember those now.
Have you played racing demon?

LowestLow · 06/10/2025 19:08

IsItAllMenopause No I haven't heard of that.

OP posts:
IsItAllMenopause · 06/10/2025 20:02

It's an old game I think. Basically a getting rid of your cards quickly game! It's fast so probably better for older kids.
