Can anyone chat to me? Desperately lonely.

I am so lonely. This is going to be long.

My mum passed on xmas day last year. She had cancer and wasn't very old. She didn't die of cancer though, it was medical negligence.
My dad couldn't cope and moved to another country.
My ltr has just ended.
My kids are at their dads.
I have no friends. I've realised that. I have acquaintances from my dc groups. I've never really fit into friend groups. I was and still are, I suppose, hanging onto friend groups.
My past is an embarrassment (not my children) and I am so desperate to be happy that I just allow things that shouldn't happen in a relationship, to happen.
My life is a joke. The only good thing about it is my kids and tonight, I'm really struggling with loneliness.
I have no family left and the people who I have reached out to have finished the conversation after a couple of messages.
I suffer with ptsd and other mental health issues that stem from past relationships.

Is anyone around just to chat. Just so I can stop crying a bit?
Well done if you managed to read this far! And thank you x

I made a post this morning similar to yours! I struggle to make friends and am lonely, I also have mental health issues which impact how I am able to socialise and interact with people. I hope you are feeling a bit better now. It is really hard isn't it!

Sorry, I didn't see it! But yes. It really is difficult. I have never had so many people in one go, just pulling me up! This thread is full of caring, kind, sympathetic people who have shit loads of motivation! Decent people! How are you feeling tonight x

I'm up for a meet up - could we arrange somewhere like a national trust place and have a walk/coffee?

@Aspecialplaceinhell sorry NW is so far from you!

Hell yes!!!!!!

@Needalisteningear
It's brilliant you've noticed what makes you feel good & that you've identified a goal to work towards. You've made some great connections on here so I think you'd be awesome at bringing people together to get fit physically & emotionally. Do it!!! 😊

Sounds like you've got a lovely relationship with your kids. Lots to feel proud of!

I do feel really lucky and proud today! I'm feeling good!
I'm going to grab life with both hands now and just enjoy it. I've dyed my hair today (dark brown doesn't cover black...) and done a few bits. Going to do a workout soon when I have chance to use the tv!

I even saw HIM today! In the car park. I walked with my head held high and didn't look at him. Just wait for the time I'm really happy with life and successful 😉 x

Oh id be happy to travel to west Yorkshire very happily (that's York isn't it?)

Littletreefrog · 19/10/2024 20:16

I have got left behind on this thread but you seem to be generally in my neck of the woods and I'll happily go for a walk and a chat with anybody. I think I read about ParkRun? Well I don't run but I am an enthusiastic chear-er on-er if anyone needs one.

Aspecialplaceinhell · 19/10/2024 20:18

Oh this is lush.

madroid · 19/10/2024 20:19

@Needalisteningear you are NE? I thought you were NW... doh!

But I'd come to York, it would be a lovely day out for me. I used to go to the minster every year in the week before Christmas to an evensong with a friend, it was our 'tradition' so have very happy memories of visiting the city.

LikeMyHeartIsAboutToStopBeating · 19/10/2024 20:21

This is making me so happy! I too am about as far from the NW as you can get but I love the fact you're planning a meet up. I shall be there in spirit - I met up with some MNers from another thread in the summer and it was such fun.

Erm... I'm very North West Lancs so I'm not sure... I think York maybe 2 hours ish?! Geography isn't my strong point 😆

How far nw are you? Are you junction 30+ off M6?! Or below junc 30? 🤣

When I do a parkrun, you could push me along with a big stick?

I am north west 🤣 Yorkshire Dales are near me...

I think 2 hours ish to York... train might be easier for me!

Ah see I definitely got left behind as I'm more North East I think I got confused with talk of Yorkshire places. We do visit the NW quite often as my DS swims in Salford Quays.

Oh no! We could have a zoom call for everyone too far away!
How was it organised?! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I want to meet each and every one of you lovely lot! X

I think we sent a DM with our emails to the organiser who then sent a short questionnaire to us about preferred dates, which railway station we should meet near and a suggested agenda. We met in a cafe, went to an exhibition and then had lunch. It was really fun.

Needalisteningear · 19/10/2024 20:41

I think I'm confusing everyone! I'm very north west lancs, Yorkshire dales are very close and Cumbria is very close! I'll travel to york! It seems to be the most central!

Oh I love Salford Quays! Such a nice place to sit with a drink when it's sunny x

Would it be too forward to suggest a WhatsApp group?
Honestly I've met some darling friends on here and through similar ways over the years.

Morning all.
I'm south west so way too far for me. I can't sit on trains or in a car for long due to my disability atm.
However if you're looking for a name for the WhatsApp group how about the 'kindness club'?

Hi all! How is your Sunday going?

My plans have changed since the dc clubs were all cancelled due to the rain. Going to get some bits done this afternoon. Dc are quite happy to stay in pjs!
Had a really positive day yesterday, today is still positive but a bit wobblier. I know relationship ending is the right thing to do, he was my best friend too (or so I thought) and I'm also missing that!
Trying to get excited for the future. Trying to embrace everything I can do!
No contact on both sides. Maybe seeing him yesterday has given me the wobble a bit! I feel really tired today, just exhausted. I'm going to try for an early night and feel my emotions! X

How has everybody's Monday been?
It's been quite a good day here all in all - few tasks ticked off my ever growing task list.
Also forced myself to make a phone call I was absolutely dreading - for zero reason what so ever in the end it was a perfectly reasonable professional call with resolution but I built it up!

MeowCatPleaseMeowBack · 21/10/2024 20:36

I had a call from my GP and he went through several highly abnormal results from my blood tests. I have four new pills to take every day. My health anxiety is in overdrive thinking there must be some horrible underlying illness going on, like cancer. I'm trying to be rational about it.

But I did order a couple of Halloween decorations which cheered me up. I love horror books and films so this is a good time of year for me. 😀

Big well done to you Aspecialplaceinhell. Phone calls used to be one of my main anxiety terrors and I know how much courage it took you to do that.

Mrsredlipstick · 22/10/2024 07:30
