DS head teacher making my anxiety sky rocket

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 09/12/2021 11:50

I'll try to keep this brief. I am a member of a private closed group on fb. I use it to let of steam and rant about stuff that I'd never put on main fb. My account is private but I occasionally post on public groups but keep things very blasé.

I ranted on the private group about my DS being upset that his after school club was being cancelled till new year (an outdoor club at that).

I speculated on a friends post that schools may close early for Xmas again. But in a very innocuous way.

DS head (primary) has emailed me asking to call him about a social media post that's been brought to my attention. I've emailed back saying I'm really busy in work (I am) and can he email me his query.

' No' he emailed. 'Ring me In January!!!!'

I'm now so anxious about what he wants. I'm even nervous to post here in case his spies are out. I can't see what it could be as my rants are all on locked groups.

DH says ignore or just tell him my posts are personal to me and nothing to do with him.

Can anyone give me some reassurance?

Maybe the teacher doesn’t want to run an after school club as they are in the verge of a burn out.

The last 4 weeks I have lost my 3 PPAs each week due to emergency cover… I wouldn’t then want to run an after school club when I’m giving up my protected PPA time to keep kids in lessons.[/quote]
Yep. On 'verge of burn out'. So much so that he's been on a 3 day residential with yr 6 this week......,....🙄🙄🙄

@Lou98

I believe and always will believe that covid is an adults only illness (thank god).

Ignorance is bliss eh OP? Perhaps if you had seen your/family children in a hospital bed suffering with covid and still a year on having complications with their lungs you would think differently - but as long as your son gets to carry on playing football, who cares eh?

Just 25 children out of the MILLIONS in the uk have sadly passed with (not from) covid. I'll take my chances thanks. Of those 25 at least half had serious underlying illnesses. Sometimes life is hard. Sweden has had its schools open as normal since March 2020. Yes I know you'll trot out the usual bs about Sweden having a higher rate than other Nordics but their rates have always been and remain far lower than the uk.

You won't change my mind over UfT and what I believe so crack on if you have time to waste over your gins.

Op your opinion of school staff is awful. A residential is a huge amount of work. Unpaid work.

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully

Yep. On 'verge of burn out'. So much so that he's been on a 3 day residential with yr 6 this week......,....

Errr that’s actually quite hard work and a huge responsibility

Lou98 · 10/12/2021 18:36

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully I never said died - I said extremely ill in a hospital bed suffering and still having long term complications one year on. Those numbers are a lot higher than 25 but that doesn't fit your agenda does it🙄

Even at 25 deaths you can't claim it's an adult only illness - otherwise that number would be 0.

You sound like a right delight

Tippexy · 10/12/2021 18:37

I think we have now worked out why OP is no longer a school governor…

Piggywaspushed · 10/12/2021 18:39

Sorry, OP, but I taught a boy who now plays for England. He did not play in school football teams because he was permanently coached at a professional football club.

School PE is not a route to professional football.

Piggywaspushed · 10/12/2021 18:42

Is the football not running because the coach is on a residential in fact? Bit confused to say the least...

If the head is a 'dementor' as you say, there would be no residentials.

VeganCow · 10/12/2021 18:44

He isn't very professional in his email response to yours. I wouldn't really worry about his opinion as long as you still stand by whatever you write online.
I see you now know what he was emailing about. I'd be more worried about how a busy head has time for all this crap!

SpinsForGin · 10/12/2021 18:50

Yep. On 'verge of burn out'. So much so that he's been on a 3 day residential with yr 6 this week......,....🙄🙄🙄

Yeah cos that's just a lovely holiday...... 🙄
In my experience those things are exhausting.

thesockfromtheroof · 10/12/2021 18:57

What reassurance are you looking for?

No one here can tell you what he wants or what he will say.

All we can tell you is you have every right to your opinion and if he has a problem with what you've posted, you have every right to say so.

But you won't find out until you speak to him. Which will worsen your anxiety.

You know what to do.

Cyrilgoggin · 10/12/2021 18:59

OP I saw your message to me before it was deleted. It was uncalled for.

I won't say any more, other than I think it's a good thing that you are no longer a school governor.

RandomUsernameHere · 10/12/2021 19:05

In my DCs' old school there was a "private" WhatsApp group for the parents in the year group. Absolutely everything was fed back to the head, there was definitely a spy.
You're best off just giving him a call on Monday. There's no point in refusing to speak to him and then feeling anxious about it.

LaBellaTrix · 10/12/2021 19:07

Wow this thread has taken a strange turn. To think I was feeling sorry for the OP and her anxiety...

lynntheyresexpeople · 10/12/2021 19:09

You don't seem to have crippling anxiety about mouthing off to anyone here who called you out, or in slagging off schools in an extremely dangerous and disgusting Facebook group.
You're shitting yourself because you acted up on Facebook, and got caught out. Bottom line.
You left out that you're an ex governor for a reason, because you know it makes you look even worse. What you did was disrespectful, and immature. If you have such issue with the school, I suggest you speak with them, rather than post it on social media like a teenager.
You'll be much less anxious if you stop acting like such a dick - then no one will need to give you a well deserved bollocking Grin
Quit your woe is me act, and put your big girl pants on. If Your big enough to dish it out, prepare to have it handed back.
The person who wrote the op and the person you are in your replies after being caught out by previous posters are like Jekyl and Hyde. Your precious football prodigy isn't more important than the thousands of teachers, and their families who have lost loved ones to Covid.

timeforanewlife · 10/12/2021 19:12

Oh Op you are a horrible person and very self-centred. You a bashing head and all those affected by COViD. No sympathy!

Abraxan · 10/12/2021 19:18

I believe and always will believe that covid is an adults only illness

Must remember to let our school families currently at home now with covid positive children, who are feeling fairly rubbish, that they must be imagining it as covid doesn't affect children Hmm

Abraxan · 10/12/2021 19:20

Yep. On 'verge of burn out'. So much so that he's been on a 3 day residential with yr 6 this week......,....🙄🙄🙄

Oh, I really can't take you seriously anymore OP!
You have clearly NEVER experienced a school trip, let alone a school residential from the adult's side!
Burn out?! I'd be needing a good week off to recover these days!

Also - going in a year 6 residential at this point of the year? Doesn't sound like a head who is going OTT with covid restrictions to me - at all!

LaBellaTrix · 10/12/2021 19:22

Hmm, any sympathy I had has now vanished. You sound utterly selfish.
Just carry on love. Crippling anxiety is the least of your problems.

kittensinthekitchen · 10/12/2021 19:23

And it's been no football for at least 4 weeks so far

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully So when you were still a Governor?

I hope the board do find out the shite you've been spouting about the head and the school, then.

You are deluded, and some might even say 'demented'. Anything to avoid having to look after your own kids, you lot. Fuck everyone else's kids, as long as you're alright, hey?

Abraxan · 10/12/2021 19:25

Sweden has had its schools open as normal since March 2020.

I have family living in Sweden. Schools have not been operating normally in all that time. Schools have had changes made to the way they run there in various ways inc some shorter term closures, they also are usually in different types of buildings, inc more outdoor spaces, than a typical English school.

TheHoneyBadger · 10/12/2021 19:27

So not content with embarrassing your school and child as a governor spouting off on facebook you've decided to compound it on here? Do you really think none of the parents or staff of your school are on here?

Do you think a governor who slagged off the school on Us4Them is such a common occurrence that people won't recognise you?

You claim to have debilitating anxiety but zero qualms about the anxiety you could be causing others. I'm going to suggest that perhaps you don't suffer from anxiety but from the natural consequences of behaving terribly and getting caught out and being revealed to your community for what you are.

converseandjeans · 10/12/2021 19:32

MrsArchchancellorRidcully

Durrrrrr. You don't know how football works at that level eh??

Yes DS has played for 2 different professional academies. He enjoys after school footie but it most definitely isn't going to improve him to academy level. At the academy they will focus on skills - school footie is really about getting your team together so you can win a cup.

DH coaches DS in his team (he's no longer with an academy) and was also class teacher running after school footie when he was at primary. So I do know a fair amount about it! You will be annoyed to hear he is still running his after school footie club right until the end of term.

It sounds like the class teacher has other commitments rather than not being interested to do the after school session. Year 6 camp is hardly a jolly. I imagine in primary there will be also school productions to prepare for this time of year, plus possibly parents evening.

As an ex governor you should have a better insight than most about how awful this pandemic has been.

nimbuscloud · 10/12/2021 19:33

I think the op is drunk now

converseandjeans · 10/12/2021 19:42

Just looked up Us4them and it's bonkers - anti mask, anti vaccine, anti PCR test, suggests still sending students in when family members are unwell, moaning about parents not being allowed in for open days.

I wonder how many teachers are members and supporters?
