Welcome one and all!

Because of a depressing thread I started a couple of days ago I have felt enough courage from the kind words you have given me to start a positive thread about how I will go from grumpy, teary, depressed, hopeless me to a more positive me.

I have pinpointed having a shower every day as a good start to feeling better, hence the name.

Hope lots join me and share what they want to change in their life to feel better. big or small, whatever you feel you want to work towards.
We can help each other

Hey Trinity

I cant believe the last time I posted I was half way through my pregnancy and feeling like crap!

What is it about getting a shower you dont like?
Is it just the getting motivated to go and have one or the actual shower itself?

Lulumama · 09/02/2008 10:03

i shower plenty, am lovely and fragrant

but too fat at the mo

i am resolving to eat like a grown up and shift a couple of stone

Nbg · 09/02/2008 10:04

Eat like a grown up!

Reading that has made me choke on my sherbet dip.

TrinityRhino · 09/02/2008 10:05

well I guess its a bit of both
if I have all the kids then I have to start right from ages before I actually get inot the shower trying to make sure everyone isn't hungry or tired and then trying to find a safe place to be/thing to do

hope the big two wont fight
the middle one wont attack the little one
the little one wont get into her own trouble or hurt herself

THEN
when I run the shower the tray fills up cause the drainage has isshooos with air getting trapped and stuff
I hate standing in water and I know I have to do that.

the shower itself once in is fine b ut then I have only 2 bras that fit and am shit at keeping up with the washiung so it feels stuoid to have a shower and then put back on a bra I've been wearing for weeks
and also clothes are scarce and so rarely clean
once I'm out o have wet hair and I'm cold and the kids all seem to want stuff immeadiately.....I can tell them to wait and they whinge for a bit which I find stressful so try and avoid

If I take my hair out of the towel then my fringe sticks up and I look like a twat
I have no idea how to blowdry hair, it just semms to get tangly so I dont I just leave it to dry and hope fringe behaves once out of towel
It just seems liks such a palava whn all I want to do is sleep

"If I take my hair out of the towel then my fringe sticks up and I look like a twat"
PMSL

I know what you mean about everything needing to be done.
Its not easy.
I cant leave ds1 near ds2 because he has a habit of being overly afectionate which can involve him climbing all over ds2 and then when he's had enough he usually lamps him one.

Now I shower before I go to bed and when I wash my hair I make sure I dry and straighten it before I sleep otherwise I have twat syndrome too.

Is your dh about so you can do that too?

TrinityRhino · 09/02/2008 10:17

hmmm I should do that
I just want to eat and sleep once they are in bed or dh is having time with gecko

god I think I am a lost cause

OP posts:
Nbg · 09/02/2008 10:21

Not at all!

You should do it.
Its a much easier way and then come morning all you need is a wash. Or sometimes not in my case

What time are the kids in bed?

Ours are in for 7pm and if I'm tired I jump straight in the shower, dh looks after ds2 and I go to sleep.

TrinityRhino · 09/02/2008 10:25

dd1 and dd2 go at 7 but gecko is an unknown quantity

sometimes dh doesn't get home from work till 9 or 10 but will try and sort something

OP posts:
Nbg · 09/02/2008 10:29

Right so dd1 and 2 in bed at 7, stick Gecko in her cot so she cant come to any harm and you jump in a really quick shower.

And if you need to shave legs, use that nair stuff so all you need to do is wash it off in the shower, rather than spend more time in there by shaving.

Lulumama · 09/02/2008 10:33

you need a laundry schedule .. then you will have clean clothes and bras. then you will feel more inclined to shower. re the hair.. is it long ish? I wash mine, then head down, hair brused forward , blast with hairdryer afer i;ve run a bit of serum through it.... then run GHDs down it. does not take long at all... or wash at night, dry and straighten when DCs are in bed....

get some mr muscle drain unblocker at put it down the shower drain..

all of the little things you do will all add up and make life easier

TrinityRhino · 09/02/2008 10:38

shave legs????

PAH HA AHAAA HA HAAAAAAAA

I haven't shaved my legs in months

I have fair hair so not as niticeable as others
but I just cannot be arsed to put it plainly
lol ggod that sounds awful

It actually a problem with the air letting itself out of the pipe system, someone that lived in the house before us (FIL) thought it would be a good idea to chop through a wall inbetween the shower and bath, found vent pipe and thought ock no matter just chop it down to under the height of the new wall

well now its not high enough to air is trying to come up out of the drain thereby stopiing the water going down

OP posts:
Nbg · 09/02/2008 11:01

Its sleep deprivation, I tell you!

Rosylily · 09/02/2008 11:17

So is this what people mean by 'letting yourself go?' When I was young and vain and spent ages on myself I couldn't imagine not being like that.
Now I hardly shave my legs and I used to do it religiously every day.
I am happy to shower but then I often don't brush my hair...(I can never find a brush!)

I am not depressed but I have been struggling a bit, I didn't realise my iron was low. That is key for me, I had no energy, the smallest job was like mount everest, now I'm taking iron supplements I am starting to feel far better!

all tired people check your iron!!!

I have been getting alot of headaches and I really really want to find the energy in the evening to do my yogalates. I know it will really help me.

I have just given up chocolate! That also helps me. Eating well...very important but hard to manage when struggling.

Nbg · 10/02/2008 08:53

How you doing today Trinity and how was your day yesterday?

TrinityRhino · 10/02/2008 08:57

didn't manage a shower yesterday but have determination for today

iron supplements, now thats a thought

only just up so off for a fag and huge glass of juice (I know, I know)

OP posts:
Nbg · 10/02/2008 09:13

Thats a good point Rosylily about the iron.
When I had ds1 I struggled doing things particularly in a morning because I was so breathless.

stuffitall · 10/02/2008 09:16

Can anyone join in ? Was inspired by OP and need to de-clutter like Trinity but in a fog about how to start. Walking from room to room and finally ended up here (of course) .. got the day to myself too so I should get a lot done (some hope)
