Sorry people, but time I went to bed.

Sorry missed you , shodatin, and hope you're sleeping peacefully ... love the planetary action you alerted us to

Nilgiri · 21/03/2012 01:01

Sleep well all.

shodatin · 21/03/2012 09:39

Morning all, and all best wishes for upward's time at hospital, hope all goes well for you (and the wound).

cityhobgoblin · 21/03/2012 10:31

Ooh yes of course , shodatin well remembered that this is upward's day for wound checking & hopefully for having the stitches out - good luck upward ,and thank you for delicious homemade food last night

Agree , shodatin , would be brilliant for our summerhouse to materialise & for we all to be sat there - I'd be wanting all that gossip we were wondering about a few weeks ago < agog> Brews

cityhobgoblin · 21/03/2012 10:36

< off to search grammar primer > ... shodatin ... I forgot to ask how your poor finger is after thimble - less sewing efforts - hope it's almost recovered

shodatin · 21/03/2012 12:41

I'm fine thanks hob, done same thing once again, so another day away from sewing should fix it, but am really getting used to it now Blush.
Was hoping you'd had some feedback from house-smartening inspection on Monday, but maybe it's the old no-news-is-good-news, hope so, and that you can now relax and enjoy it. Noticed chaotic mess on desk/table yesterday, and decided best way round would be to simplify, starting with throw-away then put-away, plus some time to "finish this week", which should make it look lots better, particularly for visitors. Remembering when people used to compliment me on tidiness, but that was when house was for sale, and it just had to look reasonable at very short notice, so might try this mind-set again.
Did I mention last week's fasting bloodtests? Chlorestrol count has produced diet list of low-fat foods, no other comment apart from another test next year, so guess it was not too good. Receptionist told me no sign of second test ( for sugar), so have to have this again, and fast again too, plus no-one there knew whether fast included painkiller/s or not, but she would continue enquiries.
A nuisance altogether, particularly as early Monday morning (and car MOT due Friday, so am hoping all is well or will need transport.)

Sorry to ramble about this, but of course people here just understand about the real nuisance of medical appts.

Upwardandonward · 21/03/2012 17:12

That's a pain, shodatin - I hope it goes ok.

Stitches out is done, it was tricky, I had stopped dressing the wound but will have to again now.

I'm really quite scared at the moment, saying I can't go outside in my snoopy top.

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 21/03/2012 17:12

Ps I hope no news is good news for hob too

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 21/03/2012 17:31

Oh you are incredibly brave to have had it done , upward - so sorry it was tricky & that yiou'll have to go through rigmarole of dressing wound again ... hope healing is going OK

Oh no , sorry you're rather scared ... is it voices again , or do you mean you're upset you won't be able to wear a summery top due to scar ?
sorry to be nosey < hf hops up to st next to you , purring comfortingly >
Hope you can have a better evening , with new toy Brews and flumps

Thank you so , so much for all good wishes... will be up to 2 weeks before we know more , betwen agent departments , landlady etc ... I don't think they're at all pleased with it so will have to see if can get rid of more stuff I think ... hope won't have to leave without a reference

shodatin , the cholesterol test result is usually a number such as 7.1- didn't they give you one ?- and an opinion from HCP on the result . I know your surgery are wildly eccentric on the subject , but in other surgeries it would be a good sign not to be called in & told you'd be retested after trying lower-fat diet , then if test result not improved , suggest to take statins . With your surgery , it's hard to be certain ...

Hope we all have a good evening ... blazing sun here , and our local group is holding a vigil about the Budget / cuts when it gets dark < less than original >

Upwardandonward · 21/03/2012 18:54

It's the voices hob :( - I meant I'm saying I can't go outside because it's pyjamas. The only concern I have about showing that scar is that it burns easily in the sun ;)

I hope you're catastrophising with the agent, hob Sounds like you did a lot of work on it.

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 21/03/2012 20:02

Oh how stressful that they're bothering you like this ... wonder whether there's a slightly different way of arranging your evenings which might help - phonecalls / Skyping / earlier bed / visit from a helper ? There must be things which could support you a bit more

One of my favourite songwriters has had a lot of difficulty with voices after he was beaten round the head as a childSad, causing him to be deaf in one ear , which I think may have contributed to the problem - auditory nerve as Nilgiri was saying ...anyhow , he has spoken movingly about his efforts to live with the times they do pop up , scolding him & putting him down as he writes music...but he is a rare example of this symptom persisting - hopefully you will find voices stop happening fairly soon , & certainly as time goes by ... , and of course there should be new drugs around to help , if they were to recur
I hope addressing saying that isn't too insensitive , but it probably is Sad I applaud your attitude to showing scars - I do believe in not hiding things like that < sobs at tought of sunlight hurting scar >
Thank you , although I often have to talk myself down from catastrophising ,the agents are definitely objectively displeased , but will see in next week or two if will take any action
.
Dh just given hint will be offered a highflying temporary job , but would not trust that his current job would still be there ( always threat of redundancy in his workplace)... he is trying to kep calm before meeting manager tomorrow
Brews

Upwardandonward · 21/03/2012 20:58

Thanks hob I have been brain storming around evenings, it's a tough one :s I might have to change meds again :(

Gosh, that's a tough one for dh hob hope it goes well/right...

Goodnight and Brew for all

OP posts:
shodatin · 21/03/2012 21:09

Good news that stitches are out upward, but you seem to have been rather brave about it, and having to do dressings yourself seems a bit unfair. I'm wondering if the extra stress of today has increased voices? Please don't be scared, you've been brave all day with a pretty horrible experience, and it's not really surprising that you're now a bit upset. Hob's had a good idea about maybe changing your evening occupations, but not much one can do about tiredness and stress, except maybe early bath and bed (if not already short of spoons).
Please remember that you're still recovering, and every day will probably be a bit easier - hope so anyway.

Am so sad for you hob that you've spent so much time and effort on the house, which is obviously not appreciated. Life is unfair. All very best wishes for your
DH tomorrow, obviously he is being appreciated!

Thanks for info on blood test, and will ask nurse about result on Monday. Parents' views meant I've had an excellent diet for most of my life, only recently made some wrong choices, so could probably change again if
necessary (but would miss chocolate).
Hope you enjoy tonight's vigil; weather's good.

shodatin · 21/03/2012 22:48

Seem to have crossed with upward, who has now said goodnight. Hope you have a good sleep and awake relaxed and ready for a better day. I think I'd be considering a change of meds too, but don't know enough.

Hope hob and Nilgiri are not too tired from doing too much this evening. Stars are behind cloud again here, which is probably why it's so much warmer, but I do miss seeing them before bed.

Nilgiri · 21/03/2012 23:23

Sounds like we've all had a hard day, in lots of different ways. Sad

(Though can I admit to secret admiration of the Snoopy pyjamas?)

Can't say anything sensible, so will just make Brew as the only known panacea, and hope we all get some good sleep tonight and wake strengthened to face our challenges in the morning.

cityhobgoblin · 21/03/2012 23:29

It might not be necessary to change meds , upward - as shodatin says , it's been a very difficult time & breakthrough symptoms are maybe not as serious as they might seem < knows nothing >
Goodnight , peaceful sleep to you

Am touched beyond words by your kindness , shodatin - I feel as though I've stressed you all too Sad. It's not the agency's fault - it's all the faffing about with getting physical health stuff vaguely in place means I really can't bother GP with yet another problem , & have no proof of the difficulties in mental organisation ( & few of the physical ) nor can Dh sound plausible about why he's struggling , though he does a great deal in the house . Am sure it will all turn out as it's "meant to"Smile

I forgot to commiserate about fasting test disappearing - you are certain they've lost the m ? argh for you
Nilgiri , you spend such a lot of time thinking of others - hope you feel especially refreshed in the morning .Thank you forBrew panacea

United on admiration for Snoopy pyjamas , big fan

Upwardandonward · 22/03/2012 08:53

That was all very sensible nilgiri, and you're so good at the summerhouse and comforting touches/effects.

I forgot about the effect of stress on voices, thanks hob and shodatin.

Here's some morning Brew, DSA assessment today :s

OP posts:
shodatin · 22/03/2012 10:23

Many thanks for morning Brew upward, much needed today as my otc eyelid-opener failed and was just planning second-of-the-day.
I do hope all goes well for you today with the assessment, that it's not too upsetting and you get someone you can relate to as well as required result.

It will turn out "as meant to" of course hob, and you can relax knowing you did the best you could, now out of your hands (good luck anyway).

A beautiful morning here, and am looking forward to
pottering in car while I have it (really dislike being house-bound). Better clear largest bits of junk...

cityhobgoblin · 22/03/2012 11:30

Oh blimey upward , what a stressful time - hope assessment is over with now

Hope your espresso worked , shodatin , & you enjoy your car time before MOT

Agree , upward , as to Nilgiri sounding completely sensible , as ever
Hope you are able to get a spot of sunshine today , upward , & that dressing the site isn't too awful , ditto soreness today

Thank you for wisdom and amazing support , lovely shodatin

< waters cybergarden tulips >

shodatin · 22/03/2012 15:50

Lovely weather here, but too much to clear indoors to sit ourside and admire blue sky, but I see we're due same wind and temperature tomorrow, so am hopeful same good weather will occur.
Hope all went well for you upward, and that you're not feeling too much pain.
Thanks for watering cybergarden hob, did I tell you I don't usually water the garden unless just planting out?
Containers look miserable when I forget them of course, but seems last winter was mild enough to leave all my plants intact (apart from something strange happening to Pak Choi, which Thai friend says is quite usual).
Hope Nilgiri has not lost anything this year, after so many problems previous winter. My Eryngiums (silver-blue thistles we shared) are doing quite well in their container, but hope I didn't promise any more to anyone as would have to sow them again.

Upwardandonward · 22/03/2012 17:10

My wound is looking better thanks all. The assessment is done too.

I hope it's fine tomorrow as well.

OP posts:
shodatin · 22/03/2012 17:29

What good news upward, am so very pleased for you, and hope assessment was not too much of a nuisance.
Many thanks for the Brew, it's more than my turn (as usual). Hope you have a nice evening - looks like good weather still.

Upwardandonward · 22/03/2012 19:22

Thanks shodatin One of my friends keeps telling me I'm unsafe (not really helpful), apart from tonight when they said they weren't going to tell me because I'd just get annoyed...I don't see what I can do, because I can hardly say, "I'm ok, but one of my friends thinks I'm not." Confused

Anyway, time to tidy up the summerhouse, and open the windows and doors wide to take in the fine night.
