Here's a new thread for us.

OP posts:
shodatin · 16/03/2012 00:07

Goodnight upward, hope you've had a better evening and manage a good sleep.
Thanks to ndt for keeping watch in case any spiders try to enter house overnight, and love idea of being escorted to surgery! Will have usual meds with me in case it gets too difficult, just hope I don't absentmindedly push in usual breakfast while half-awake.
Thanks also for hot chocolate hob, but no need to dust as fairies are always glad to help with domestic stuff, - I just ask nicely - and I know you and Nilgiri have more than enough to do these days. 'Night all.

cityhobgoblin · 16/03/2012 00:32

Goodnight , lovely shodatin , & thanks for reassuring us about your morning trip - you know how we fret
Thank you for your persuasive way with our fairies
ndt does indeed escort his "mummy" , very proudly & using every ounce of his courage - am sure you wil enjoy his help tomorrow

Peaceful night to Nilgiri < hopes ndt won't make too much noise pouncing on spiders in the night >

cityhobgoblin · 16/03/2012 10:09

Morning lovely cybergardeners Brews

Hope you didn't accidentally start your breaakfast , shodatin < and that you've been able to go for the test .

Hope there is gradual progress with comfort levels and healing , upward , and forgot to thank you for answering qs about wound dressing , etc . Please do allow yourself a little indulgence or two for the weekend , if you haven't got new gadget to play with

Much sweepoing and bustling here today , so apologies if am quieter< blissful calm >

shodatin · 16/03/2012 12:22

No probs with test thanks hob, or that I'd taken full meds, then I had lovely drive to nearby town to renew stock of much-admired item, and was lucky enough to get last two, so it was a good morning. Remember smiling to myself about ndt keeping an eye on me, so thanks for arranging that too!
Hope everyone had refreshing sleep, and that upward continues with recovery.
Am now making belated espresso, plus tray of the magic Brew which turns into whatever's your favourite drink.

Nilgiri · 16/03/2012 12:36

Just popping in to make Brew.

Sorry for absence, needing to gather myself a bit...

shodatin · 16/03/2012 15:06

Hope you're OK Nilgiri, and not being too busy to relax and put feet up now and again. Also hope this year's winter losses in RL garden are not too upsetting, and that you're on track for an interesting Spring. Something strange happened to my Pak Choi plants, as I turned my back on them for a week or so, they seem to have skipped maturity and gone straight to seed, which is disappointing, (and I can't remember whether it was you or hob who advised autumn sowing in container but shall be throwing them out next time I'm in that corner).
Thankyou for the Brew, which I'm always just too late to make (and wouldn't get at all without cybergardeners).

cityhobgoblin · 16/03/2012 19:10

< cheers on Nilgiri's
gathering < hopes for shodatin to use a make sewing metaphor >Agree with you shodatin but am sure Nilgiri* is doing as youi advise

Thank you for delicious brew], shodatin , and so glad yo got the test done OK ... I've been reading but all too hectic today to post

Oh no , I feel very guilty as I forgo to warn you that pak choi and similar crops can go to sed unexpectedly- it's very strangeSo sorry for the wasted effortSad

Hope you're not feeling horribly hemmed in , upward, and that any visits from HCPs are tolerable

Very pleased you got two of lovely item , shodatin
Brews and soup or fruit

< HF pounces wildly in twilit cybergarden >

cityhobgoblin · 16/03/2012 19:10

Oops , sorry for indiscriminate bolding

shodatin · 16/03/2012 21:41

Warmer weather obviously makes HF more energetic, as she's having lots of pouncing time recently, as weather's warmed up. Suppose that could be reason for the Pak Choi suddenly going over too; we;re not used to such unseasonabley warm weather before Easter.

Hope everyone's had a relaxing evening, and not over-tired with today's activities.

shodatin · 16/03/2012 23:20

Will say "goodnight" now, as had a long day. Hope upward had a better day, and that no-one ran out of spoons too early. Pats to cats. (and beagle of course).

cityhobgoblin · 16/03/2012 23:39

Sorry missed you tonight , shodatin, and thank you for keeping the cybergarden so welcoming today

W're all hoping you're not being troubled so much by voices , upward ,< & that if you atre , you feel able to tell someone , though I imagine that at the moment all you want or can manage is a peaceful time with no cextra challenges ...am thinking also of your saying that lots of things have been going wrong this week- hope some positive signs turn up .

< ndt presents for personal guard duty to Nilgiri >

< warms rugs for humns & animals >

< purrs emanate from cats and copycat beagle >

Nilgiri · 16/03/2012 23:53

Sleep well all.

cityhobgoblin · 17/03/2012 08:06

< creeps in with Brews , espressos , hot choc and pains au chocolat for Sunday breakfast in bed / in steamer chair >

< greedily starts up mega-capacity toaster too >

< tiptoes back out so sleep can continue for a good while yet >

Upwardandonward · 17/03/2012 08:14

Good morning, wow, that's a spread and a half!

OP posts:
shodatin · 17/03/2012 09:30

Morning all, particular thanks to considerate hob and to Nilgiri who let sleeping hound lie. Hope upward had a better night without voices being a nuisance, and that we're all looking forward to weekend in out own ways.

cityhobgoblin · 17/03/2012 09:50

Great to have you with us in summerhouse first thing , upward , & I hope healing / strength returning are taking place steadily , even if it's a slow process , & that as shodatin says , the other difficulty is less distressing to you - we're thinking of you

I promise to try to find us some healthier fods for later < beagle looks smug after pastry treat > .

Hope your socialising by phone /emai l/ letter/ Skype won't be too tiring , shodatin , & that your relatives & friends are all doing OK

Grin , thank you both for being too polite to mention I thought it was Sunday today
< leaves flask of hot choc & large tin of baked goods out for Nilgiri's quiet time in the summerhouse >

shodatin · 17/03/2012 12:59

Had to do quick check this morning hob, as really thought I'd lost a day there, which would have been a shame at weekend. Not a great deal planned here, just the one phone call I've been postponing as a bit awkward, and am approaching optimum time of after convivial lunch for old acquaintance, if it makes sense.

Don't know how you find time for all your wonderful baking, which is almost tempting me to line up behind beagle and ask nicely, but have remembered in time that should be taking measurements off waist rather than adding to them, and not get into new and fattening habits.

cityhobgoblin · 17/03/2012 18:34

GReally hope the phone call went Ok ,shodatin- know ust whatt you mean about trying to find right time

Sorry for long absence but ridiculously busy day plus minor ailments slowing things down again -nothing to complain about < grumps> Hope you're as well as possible , shodatin , that Nilgiri is having a comforting weekend , & that events & health concerns are improving for upward , who has I hope been able to chat a little with helpers / visitors / on phone

Brews and soup

Upwardandonward · 17/03/2012 19:43

Healing is slow but hopefully happening - stitches out Wednesday hopefully...

I too hope people are having successful, quiet, or othewise good weekends...had a quiet day myself, apart from reordering the ipad (Apple said 2-3 weeks, but some shops had them in today so it'll come Tuesday). :o (we'll ignore the half hour phone call to the fraud department to say it was really me...always happens, but costly).

I'm just watching/listening to Lets dance for sport relief final.

OP posts:
shodatin · 17/03/2012 20:52

That's really good news upward, and I do hope you can have stitches out on Wednesday, as it will probably feel more comfortable (all I can remember is using a salt-water rinse at least once daily, and being told it was going well, but maybe there are more modern ways).
Don't understand about the fraud department, is this because you cancelled an order and re-ordered because of deliveries? Had better learn how to do this, and would prefer not to have a high cost for the service. It's good to have a definite date and something to look forward to, and am sure you'll find lots of new ways of using it.

Had forgotten about phone call hob, which was returned while I was stirring evening meal, so not best time after all. Hope you can rest up this evening if not A1 well again, and thank you once again for providing refreshments. Also hope all is going well with MiL.

cityhobgoblin · 17/03/2012 21:05

Brews and soup

The dancing sounds a more suitable weekend programme than the radio documentary I've got on whilst cleaning the kitchen , on assassinationsGrin

Really glad the healing is progressing < speeding-up incantation > and hope you'll soon have a better idea of how the arrea will be.
Yaaaaaaay i-pad , brilliant - I don't really order thitems so have had few experiences of such outrageous ripoffs as that phone call - bah

We took your tip on houseplants , shodatin , & found the perfect ones , inexpensive & one of them the yellow begonia we associate with first visit to this hous e . Hope you're not too fed up from dormousing
Aha - hi sodatin < slow writer here > Ooof at mealtime call

MIL getting on well with helpers , thanks ,which s fabulous , but so many different ones that none is a "friend" yet
Pleasant evening to us allBrew

shodatin · 17/03/2012 22:55

It's a good omen that you found a yellow begonia hob, and really hope these "house-selling" tips are useful - just remembered another positive scent - furniture polish. Am sure you'll still be busy with endless house improvements tomorrow, so hopefully you can both have next weekend off as a mini-holiday; you certainly deserve it. It's good news about MiL, and probably the best you can hope for at this early stage.
Thanks for the Brew, think this is the third one you've supplied today, even frail and convalescent upward has been providing the Brews and as usual, it's more than my turn, am just not quick enough/ thoughtful enough, but do appreciate everyone else's efforts. Am not really busy either, just taken up with another sewing project, where I lose track of time.

Hoping Nilgiri is not over-tired, and able to enjoy nice quiet evening, and that upward is also at peace without nuisance of voices.

shodatin · 17/03/2012 23:38

Waving goodnight.

Nilgiri · 18/03/2012 00:02

Night all, sleep very well.

shodatin · 18/03/2012 13:13

Here's a very late tray of Brew, wholesome snacks from hob's endless store and more espresso, of course, and apologies for being so late. A beautiful day here, but disappointed that cooler evening didn't produce star-gazing sky last night, also disappointed that I had to make dash for bed before dormousing again, and hope other gardeners have been luckier.
Not enough spoons for gardening, despite lovely weather (and don't always hear weekend Skypeing), so am happily stitching away at current project, and hope it's finished before I need it (tabard-overall to replace thin bought item which soaked up only part of coloured varnish I spilt - not easy to find right fabric at right price.
