Here's a new thread for us.

Thaniks shodatin (and for the brew ). The reason for the phone call is that any large amount spent is not within my normal pattern of transactions, so these always get refused and refered to the fraud department.

I hope the healing is going ok too, hopefully will get them to look on wednesday.

I didn't realise you sewed, shodatin - it always sounds a useful (as well as rewarding) skill to have.

I feel chilly today, having another quiet day I think.

cityhobgoblin · 18/03/2012 15:37

Thank you for refreshing Brew , shodatin , & extensive snacks < and am sorry to be even later saying good morning - lots of rushing about here

Bad luck shdatin , to lose both shop-bought tabard & your polish in one go . I'll be so pleased with myself if I ever manage to make things the way you do - as you say , upward , so useful & rewarding

Ah yes , the fraud dept at Dh's card provider ring him if there's a change in the pattern of his transactions - if he should miss them one day & has to call back I think he'dd pop with fear of the phone bill - can't they ring you if it happens again, upward ?

chilly here ,too, but did get short spell of warm sun , occasioning feline bliss & very funny games

Nilgiri-- style goaty toes for Wednesday's check, upward
Brews , with marshmallows all round

< warms rugs for upward and fellow cybergardeners enjoying a quiet Sunday >

< ndt pads up cheerily to Nilgiri , ready to sit on lap >

shodatin · 18/03/2012 17:22

Thanks for explanation re fraud dept upward. My bank seem to have decided that occasional large transaction is what I do, and have never queried household goods/laptop./house/car. DB got call asking about his trip to Turkey, day after he'd bought chair from well-established local firm using card, which surprised (and pleased) him (never been to Turkey, but his card was used for car-hire following day.
Have always done sewing, starting with embroidery and usually finishing with hems and little inbetween as not good enough, and learned while boating that making one's own what-ever was frequently only way to get right size or quality with only medium budget. This time I wanted heavy enough fabric to protect clothes while painting/varnishing, while being light enough to slip on/throw in tub, and am pleased with remnant of upholstery fabric in violet/grey/beige. (Confess to collecting attractive fabric Blush then spending too much time designing non-essentials).
Hope you still have heating on upward, if feeling chilly, and agree it's not too warm indoors and mine will be on again soon. Also hope someone checks on your wound soon, as you'll feel better just knowing it's doing well.
(Remember looking at horrible mess and being told it was a really good one; hard to believe and only a nurse would think so.)
Hoping I can see stars this evening, as seems a long time since sky was clear enough.

shodatin · 18/03/2012 20:02

Can recommend looking at night sky, as Venus and Jupiter still appear to be close together, and it's days since they were in view from this location.

cityhobgoblin · 18/03/2012 21:21

Ooooh , thank you , shodatin- will get outdoors

Sorry for yet more silencew after your lovely post - agent day is tomorrow
< scrub clatter daub swear >

Brews for lovely cybergardeners

shodatin · 18/03/2012 23:52

Hope you'll have a good gap between agent days after tomorrow hob, as you do spend a lot of time working on that property, and I know you have lots of other interests.
Thank you once again for the Brew, Have worked out that I normally only have 1/2 daily ( a third is really exceptional), which is probably why someone else usually makes the Brews before it occurs to me.
Had to leave sewing project as forgot to use a thimble and one finger is sore, most frustrating, I really should know better by now.
Hope upward had a nice weekend and that the pain is lessening and voices stopped. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday, and hoping consultant is pleased with way the wound looks. (Will most likely be thinking of you on Tuesday too, and wishing I had latest ipad...)

Will say goodnight now, hope to be up early enough to shop in the morning.

Upwardandonward · 19/03/2012 09:24

Good wishes for agent day to hob

I hope everyone else has a nice day too.

I'm on the bus on my way.

Brew (only one as its hard to do whilst travelling).

Hope it goes well at day services & you won't be too tired /uncomfortable

Thank you for your kindness , shodatin, & hope you have a good Monday trip if you have onep lanned
Brews and espressos
< ndt finally consents to jump off Nigiri's lap >
...< finds pestle & mortar & looks up ingredients for cramp remedy >

shodatin · 19/03/2012 09:38

All best wishes upward, try not to do too much.

Thanks to hob (and upward) for Brews and espressos.
Salt, lemon and tonic water (quinine) are three home remedies for cramp (DM suffered), or there's the GP who might be interested in extra symptom.
Good luck with agent, who is in your home, don't forget, and owes you some respect whatever he might think.

Upwardandonward · 19/03/2012 14:06

:( I was asked if they should be very worried today, and of I was safe enough to leave (I'm home now). I think I need to be more careful with what I share - 75% of people who post here seem unable to get help they want, I don't need more ontop of the crisis team & day services, not again.

OP posts:
shodatin · 19/03/2012 16:19

Glad you didn't have to spend all day at hospital upward, although they do seem to be rather worried about you, no-one seems to be insisting that you have more help, at least at present. Am assuming you'll be staying at home tomorrow for delivery, then to hospital on Wednesday for consultant visit? Has anyone suggested you should be back in the hospital for another stay? (am just guessing here; hope all is well for you).

Upwardandonward · 19/03/2012 16:28

Yes I'm stating in tomorrow, for delivery :) I think they're worried about the voices, not sure what other help they could have been heavily hunting about. Consultant on fri, but cmht/day hosp Wednesday.

At least it's been a nice day

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 19/03/2012 21:07

I hope everyone's ok enough, and hob is not completely exhausted from today.

Night all - Brew hot choc

OP posts:
shodatin · 19/03/2012 22:26

Many thanks upward, for the hot chocolate - never been known to refuse this, although rarely think of making any. Been a beautiful day here, first real afternoon gardening, and two of us filled three bags for compost system. Hope you had a decent day, and think you're probably right about the voices troubling the HCPs.
It would upset me, certainly, and I suppose they're worried in case you should ever hurt yourself, as I believe some people do. Wish I knew more about the subject, and can only guess how difficult it must be to concentrate when it happens. Thanks for giving us the date when consultant's due - will be thinking of you.

Hope today went alright for you hob, and that the agent was reasonable, as you've certainly been working very hard on the house. Also hope you can have a bit of a break from it now, and treat yourself to just sitting around and admiring the results of your work (while watching cats play in warm sunshine)

Nilgiri · 19/03/2012 23:31

Ahh, Brew!

Thank you so much for the endless supply of refreshments here. I'm finally emerging from a drained, flattened, dormousing heap.

Marvellous that you got some gardening done, shodatin - after a jolly productive weekend sewing, too.

Hope hob is OK after agent visit and all her amazing work on the house.

Heh, Upward I have visions of you circling near the door tomorrow, unable to go to the loo just in case... Grin Hope your slender little slip of a parcel comes early before you burst.

And rather belated Wow Wow Wow at mouseling's walking! Oh my god! That's utterly fabulous! Good luck for the move, madmouse - so stressful for everyone.

shodatin · 20/03/2012 01:13

Hello again Nilgiri, glad you could drop in again, and quite understand about the dormousing (just been unsure whether I'd woken up in morning or at night, but luckily remembered laptop still switched on). Hope you're not too tired, and managed to find time for a few fun things (real down side of dormousing, losing time).
As there are three of us absenting, I wonder if anyone else has a way of either postponing or preventing it? E.g.
I found otc painkillers which contain caffeine and just one will get me past awkward occasions, don't seem to have side-effects but then, I don't use them often - anyone else find anything helpful?
Hope we all have a good sleep and wake refreshed.

Upwardandonward · 20/03/2012 09:49

It's come thanks, nilgiri - I hope you have more energy today (and shodatin and hob too).

I haven't found a way to postpone exhaustion...interesting re: OTC +caffeine shodatin

I hope everyone ha sa nice sunny day.

OP posts:
shodatin · 20/03/2012 10:03

Glad you've got your present to yourself upward, as you deserve it, and no doubt it will bring you some fun.
Before I forget, here's a tray of Brews with some espressos and wholesome snacks from ever-busy hob.
Should have had the caffeine this morning as am running late, and can't even claim exhaustion, just silly nap after breakfast.
Am not expecting to hear further from upward today, who will no doubt be busy experimenting with the new toy - enjoy.

Upwardandonward · 20/03/2012 14:44

:( I don't need to be in hospital (and said so). Had it suggested I should go to day services for longer. I'd rather curl up at home. I haven't got to play much with my new toy yet, hopefully I will now. I just want to stay away from everyone being negative about me and my coping abilities.

Rant over

Looks like a nice day to go outside.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 20/03/2012 14:59

Oh no, thought you had a day off today!

Sooo please your toy has come! Hope you have the energy to play with it later.

Upwardandonward · 20/03/2012 16:43

I did have a day off(!) thanks for the Brew cmht person came to the house, only arranged today Hmm

I'm playing now - good way to browse this forum.

OP posts:
shodatin · 20/03/2012 16:45

Sorry you're being nagged about hospital upward, and wish they could do something useful about the voices while you're at home. It's lovely outside here, warmest yet, so suggest you go outside and just forget about it all for today - as Nilgiri mentioned, we thought you were having a day off for toy delivery.

Upwardandonward · 20/03/2012 19:18

Just bringing some Brew onto the thread, and some flumps and homemade flapjacks (I've promised to stay in tonight).

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could actually arrive at our summerhouse and have a chat! (Particularly as some people - looking at upward here - are so good at keeping it tidy and welcoming).
Stars were visible again tonight, Venus and Jupiter seem to be moving around each other in small space, which of course they're not really, being widely separate, but it does give a very different view of that bit of sky and hope others are enjoying it.
I didn't know you were a baker, upward, and how lovely to have flapjacks. Used to make them myself, but probably spending too much time on other stuff now.
Do you enjoy cooking generally, or is it a bit difficult?
