snowmash's cybergarden

We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

How sad would I be to admit I lay there last night wondering whether the summerhouse should have a solar tea-maker, a whistling kettle (and swap chiminea for cast iron stove), or a magic teapot - since all is virtual? Grin

I don't blame you TIANC, it's a very nice, peaceful virtual and ideal to think about while drifting off to sleep.

Hope you've caught up with sleep snowmash, also hope you managed to keep up food intake (nag, nag, nag)

cityhobgoblin · 07/03/2011 17:32

< still laughing at damping down virtual chimeneas with turf & thick gloves for stroking cats, let alone and magic teapots and downwind orchards for idealised cats>
shodatin, thank you for accepting virtual cats, who live joyous lives of painlessly murdering virtual wildlife whilst leaving your pots untouched. So glad the site is helpful- pixieonaleaf's comment about the OCD blog really illustrates the boost you can feel from hearing /sharing experience of isolating circumstances. So sorry you're struggling with acceptance atm: me too(me me me again) but am very fortunate not to have depression to make it worse...hope you have/find the holy grail of someone you can mention it to without causing them to fret , which makes it so much worse.

I wonder if we might be able to have humminbirds visiting the garden? I've brought them from my native country & they are magical...as are dragonflies- do we have a teeny pond/ tub (virtual, so safe for DC) that dragonflies can breed in?
....and do we like toads? little newly hatched toads?

Grinat your DP's ideas for the garden, TIANC,and love the area for wheelies.
Have been MNing far too much today- hope all have a peaceful evening. Thinking of you snowmash, and hope TIANC feels better than of late, and shodatin passes MOT tomorrow, and that madmouse's DS will have lots of reasons to keep smiling and that pixie's DD continues to progress.

Hey snowmash, hope you managed to have something at tea time. Mine was a fishcake and some celery and apple salad.

It's not warm at all where I am; heating packed up about 8pm - happens every year or so for unknown reason - so went to bed and watched TV/read Sun paper and am now about to return to the only warm bit of the house.

Hope everyone has a good night, and snowmash, I'd be very happy to swap radiators for next day or so.....
Goodnight all, sweet dreams.

ThisIsANiceCage · 07/03/2011 23:52

shodatin poor you!

How long does it usually take to get fixed? Sending you warming wishes...

Also good night wishes. Hope everyone gets some sleep.

snowmash, I know your phone often isn't charged so I won't worry too much, but look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

I'm glad your dd2 is feeling a little better pixie - fingers crossed for continued progress!

I had a v bad evening/night, going to try and talk about it once I work out who was here yesterday.

Good days to everyone and good luck with mot?

shodatin · 08/03/2011 09:22

Good morning all, hope it was a good night all round and we all have a happy day. Sun's shining here, gas man is due before 1pm and my car was collected on time, so all's well at shodatin-city.

Snowmash, please let us know you're alright, if you possibly can.

ThisIsANiceCage · 08/03/2011 10:07

Morning, good to see you.

Really sorry to hear that snowmash...best wishes for a better day.
Pleased to hear about timely gasman and mechanic, shodatin. Perhaps your delivery sevice will turn up after all ,pixie? Sun's shining here too & am off out but sending good thoughts snowmash, inadequate though that is.

cityhobgoblin · 08/03/2011 11:34

Sorry , don't know why pixie didn't bold there

shodatin · 08/03/2011 14:09

Snowmash, we seem to have crossed, sorry about that, particularly as you've been having such a bad time. Thanks everyone for warm wishes today - much appreciated.
Am still awaiting v.late gas-man, but will be back later, and really hope you're feeling better

snowmash · 08/03/2011 16:50

Getting lots of positive encouragement to be out of bedroom. Still feel rubbish. Hope everyone is doing better.

shodatin · 08/03/2011 17:51

Shame you're not feeling good snowmash, but the good wishes have worked here - boiler fixed and car passed MOT so many thanks people! Just the plumber due to fix flooding loo, then I'll be able to say its been a good day....
Hope you have a nice meal this time snowmash, and everyone else. If we get our garden heating system working, we could meet up this evening and watch the stars - likely to be clear and frosty again. Just an idea.

ThisIsANiceCage · 08/03/2011 18:01

So sorry you're feeling rubbish today. Sad Anything nice for tea?

We had actual real-world sunshine here today, proper laundry-drying stuff! Hurray hurray! And thank you, I've been up and about to make good use of it.

You guys have given me quite a lot to think about the last few days. The stuff above about interactions between mental health and physical disabilities has given direction to thoughts I've had washing around for a while. Don't know if I'm ready to articulate them yet: I may at some point trespass on the kindness of everyone in the garden and ask for help working them through.

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 08/03/2011 18:03

Ooh, star-gazing! I'll throw down some warm rugs, and we can do it in comfort (any excuse for a lie down Grin).

Thanks Pixie. Perhaps written down it will all look like foot-stamping little whinges - and that's good, because it will cut things down to size.

Sorry you're also having a bad day, and DD2 is still being kept in. Bet she'll get home just in time to distract you from your painting by numbers!

OP posts:
shodatin · 08/03/2011 20:38

Oh Pixie, such a shame your DD2 is still at the hospital - you were right not to assume too much earlier, but it must be worrying. Painting will help take your mind off things, so I hope it arrives soon. I particularly liked the street scene, it probably reminds me of home.

We had a beautiful sunny day here too, TIANC, with a really blue sky, although the windy areas were coolish.
It's good to hear you felt well enough to spend some time outside TIANC, were you gardening?

Snowmash, has anyone said anything about you having an accompanied visit outside yet? I'm sure you'd soon leave the room for this.

snowmash · 08/03/2011 22:04

Note: do not try to climb fences.

ThisIsANiceCage · 08/03/2011 22:13

Mmm, is that virtual fences or have you been up to unscheduled aerobics? Shock Smile

Like trellis myself, with jasmine...
