snowmash's cybergarden

We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

A lovely experience with the deer, Hob, but hope your garden is undamaged as they can make a mess. It is so unusual for one to hang about after spotting human/s, have you thought of writing it up before the memory fades? Thanks for the share - are you in deep country?

cityhobgoblin · 11/03/2011 12:12

Thanks for indulging me, shodatin-I sound like a toddler about it, mentioning it again, but it was so magical and I hope some of that feeling will pass on to those under stress today.
No, not in deep country here, not even properly suburban- just off the main road through this county, but the deer must have found their way into a nearby pocket of woodland which comes out onto a tree filled churchyard, & the allotments opposite our house offer tasty pickings. There are 2 breeds of deer here, which amazes me, & my neighbour has seen one of the does with her faun!
Sorry to sound so smug - in my feeble defence, this idyll is a rented place and we're not able to take it for granted. I wish snowmash could enjoy Google earth videos of lush countryside to help the claustrophobia of her situation- wonder if that's possible on her phone? I don't know much about these new- fangled things.
Hope everyone's getting some good lunch.

shodatin · 11/03/2011 15:00

Lovely to hear about the deer, and you were indeed lucky to see one.(People with allotments may not agree,) there is a farm near me and they are not too popular, but I'd enjoy seeing one.

I once watched a rabbit at dusk as it appeared to be exercising, standing up to stretch then down to hover on haunches for quite a long time. When it eventually moved off it was almost too dark to see where it had been as I walked to the same spot hoping to see what it had appeared to be looking at, but when I did (other side of my house) I was stunned to see the most enormous harvest moon, which rabbit had obviously been monitoring as it rose slowly
over my hedge and became a circular moon in the sky.
Maybe it was a very young rabbit, or interested in UFO's, but it has stayed in my memory because
I made a note of it. Sorry for ramble.

ThisIsANiceCage · 11/03/2011 15:30

Squeee! at deer!

How thrilling! As you say, shodatin, less amusing for the allotment people - but lovely to hear about remotely and not have to be boring and sensible about. Grin

So good to see all you lovely people here today.

Gorgeous sunshine flickering on and off here. But our virtual garden has french windows and better views. In fact, Pixie Leaf may I sneak into the orangery while it's still light? Is there space for one of those wooden steamer chairs with a little table for one's Brew?

And wow at shodatin's moon-gazing rabbit! How amazing.

We talk of life imitating art; but life blows art clean away with things like this, doesn't it?

Oh joy, what a spellbinding picture you've recreated shodatin. I want to see if I can ever catch a bunny doing its stretches!. As to it watching the moon rise, he must have been pondering important matters & watching out for the signals he has to follow , the rhythms of life....Thank you for suggesting I write it down for myself, because memories are very sustaining.
< becomes overexcited & whirls TIANC around till she's sorely in need of her soothing Brew >

cityhobgoblin · 11/03/2011 16:07

Aha , that's why they they made those beautiful ornaments! (think they're Chinese?) Didn't think of those. As you say TIANC, life can be completely awe inspiring...don't get me started on cats again..

snowmash must be nearly teatime chez toi. Hope you get something nice.

Can't decide what to make here. Have defrosted some pork chops, but there's always that cream/apple dilemma.

OP posts:
shodatin · 11/03/2011 16:59

You two do make me laugh, I can just imagine the wild, whirling dance in our cybergarden, with TIANC half-hiding the steamer-chair - yes, and I want one too.
I don't know which ornaments you mean Hob, unless its the rabbit-in-the-moon of chinese mythology (never been able to make it out so far) Maybe "my" rabbit saw it?

Hope snowmash gets her phone back soon, also hope Pixie's artwork is going well today.

Corn beef sandwiches

ThisIsANiceCage · 11/03/2011 17:30

Mm, those can be really rather nice on decent bread. Hope they were good'uns. Smile

shodatin · 11/03/2011 17:43

We vegetarians don't do corned beef, but hope they were good. Hope you've had a decent day too snowmash.

glad she's home Pixie

shodatin · 11/03/2011 22:41

Hope you feel refreshed after a sleep TIANC, 'Night.
And to Pixie, you must feel worn out with the stress of the last few days, and so relieved. Happy for you.

Hope you're OK madmouse, and LO now recovered.

Will certainly take a look at that site Hob (can take me a while to get there) and thanks for info.

shodatin · 11/03/2011 23:08

Have printed off the moon-bunnies, which appear to be wearing collars - lovely, and so were a few other items for sale, very tempting.
Bedtime for me too, so will wish you goodnight and only good dreams.

snowmash · 11/03/2011 23:14

I hadn't had corned beef for ages either.

Really glad dd2 is home pixie !

Sleep well all!

shodatin · 11/03/2011 23:51

Night snowmash, hope you enjoyed the beef and have a good sleep.

cityhobgoblin · 12/03/2011 07:58

Morning all!
Great to hear you able to take some pleasure in food, snowmash - hope you have a good day.

Thanks shodatin for looking at that site - I was worried that link would take ages . Much temptation there indeed ( I did feel guilty about it). Grin at little collars. I promise to be much less talkative in the coming week!

Hope everyone slept well & that TIANC feels a little less exhausted today - think most of you have had an intense week , in different ways, so hope all weekends are peaceful.

Right , off out this morning to something I'm a bit shy about doing - you would laugh if you saw me.
