snowmash's cybergarden

We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Very well here, thank you!

Getting on with indoors jobs like sanding skirtingboards pre-paint, as grey and chilly outside. And DP will be jealous of shodatin's dandelion destruction: it's his metier in life. Grin

"My aim is to stay informal". Sorry, didn't understand that.
Is it that you're aiming to stay voluntary in hospital?
Or maybe that you don't want to discuss all your medical stuff in the cybergarden? (Sorry, I'm the worse for quizzing you.)

Good luck with the diy!

Informal is the same as voluntary, sorry.

Thanks for the tea and biscuits!

Been thinking of you today hob and hoping all went well and you're not too tired. Same good wishes for snowmash too, actually, plus I might start nagging about eating meals again (but not today), just hope it's all edible and hot.

cityhobgoblin · 14/04/2011 19:24

Been thrilled all day that you're back ,snowmash though very sorry you feel so unwell Are you satisfied with the way the unit is handling physical health issues , or do you feel your symptoms /concerns aren't fully dealt with?

Thank you so much ,shodatin - we had a little demo outside a local jobcentre and the local press covered it with amusing photos Grin - my friend managed to be quick minded in a 7 AM radio interview despite feeling illBrew
I bang on about this stuff because I feel as though we're doing it jointly < presumptuous > but I feel mean reminding you and TIANC of physical limitations.

Fab that you tackled some dandelions . Have so many here I harvest them twice a day in case the letting agency complains Grin

Magnificent work , TIANC - wish we had a flexing arm emoticon on MN . Several steps closer to your goal I hope.
Hope pixie clan and madmouse & brave mousling had positive days

shodatin · 14/04/2011 20:28

We're all sorry you're feeling unwell, snowmash, but on the other hand, we feel it's a good thing that you're managing to take the meds, and that this is a step forward. It was a brave decision, and you're doing well, despite the unpleasantness of the drugs. So glad you're back.

Thanks to hob for your local demo - I'd be hard-pushed to find anyone able to talk lucidly at 7a.m., self included, so congratulations to your friend too.

I usually persuade someone else to get the dandelions - too difficult to breathe while bending over- but these were becoming antisocial and had to go.

shodatin · 14/04/2011 23:03

Time I went to bed I think, so will say "goodnight", hope we all have a restful sleep and that snowmash is feeling better tomorrow (andmouseling)

madmouse · 14/04/2011 23:26

mousling is fine just not impressed that his physio turned up for a second time this week. Did some vote-by-feet and needed cajoling to work then when she said she was leaving it there for today he looked at her, waved and said byyyyeeeeeeee

cheeky!!

ThisIsANiceCage · 15/04/2011 00:05

Thank you for the DIY-wishes. 'Twas only a tiny bit, but it all adds up. And more thanks to hob, for your demo. Always grateful to hear what you've been doing for all of us.

Jigsaw idea got me thinking more about ubuntu: "I am what I am because of who we all are".

So it's your fault, hob, that I woke up this morning with the song going round in my head, by my fave diva, the late but immortally great Brenda Fassie. Grin

And now I'll be going to sleep humming it!

Hope everyone sleeps well, and wakes refreshed for tomorrow's new day.

Hi all & sorry for not saying goodnight / morning but had a very long sleep ! Hope everyone is OK this morning - love to snowmash as always

Wow !!!!!!!!! what fab links TIANC, will read and listen now - very excited

Hope the weather your way warms up for some nice garden time , shodatin - not warm even down here . Know what you mean about antisocial level dandelions {grin} and sorry that task is so awkward . Agree about early morning articulacy - hard at any time !

Magnificent mousling , madmouse. Hope all the thread's dc are having a good week.

Thank you so much for cheering us on so comprehensively- have met nice people through these groups & am lucky to get the chance .

Hope there are positives today , snowmash , & that the dose stops needing to rise so your body can adapt a bit more.

shodatin · 15/04/2011 15:35

A good day here, thanks hob, even managed to spray the roses before greenfly arrived this year (am no longer as green as I used to be!) plus a bit more weeding /tidying and trip to garden centre before weekend, not bad as I had such a late start - a long sleep here too, we must have needed it.
I looked up the Brenda Fassie song, TIANC, and enjoyed it, but still don't know what it's about . Am overdue to write to niece in Australia, born in South Africa and just picks up languages, so will enquire of her.
Hope you're having a reasonable day, snowmash - more later

ThisIsANiceCage · 15/04/2011 15:38

Hey there, 'bout time I made some Brew for the cybergarden today.

Hope everyone's well, and having as good days as possible, and that snowmash can pop in if she's awake.

And hope your sleep was refreshing and therapeutic too, hob. You sound so busy I get tired thinking about it!

And you've indirectly done yet another really good thing for me. Inspired by yesterday's Fassie-fest, I'm realising I can actually listen to music now. It tires me, so it was an obvious luxury to cut when I was really bad. But I don't have to ration energy nearly so strictly now, so why not? Yippee! Grin

The tweetie birds have competition now!

Had an abrupt ending there as DB Skyped me, and our system is not always reliable so had to acknowledge contact. Just wanted snowmash to know there's another one here thinking of you and hoping for an improvement .
I had no idea, TIANC, that music could be tiring, what a shame, and what a good thing that you can now enjoy it again - all part of the Getting Better no doubt. Wishing something equally good for snowmash.

Pixielovescake · 15/04/2011 18:15

Hi all , just passing through. Been a bit busy wanted to let you now i still lurk ocassionally , Snowmash glad you are still about , sorry the drugs make you feel rubbish. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon.

snowmash · 15/04/2011 18:46

Hope everyone had good days and ;d at mouseling

Sleeping lots here

ThisIsANiceCage · 15/04/2011 22:48

Good to see you, snowmash. Hope the hibernation is going well and the awake bits aren't too grim.

And thanks, good day here - more painting (shoebox-size room, I'm just good at spinning things out!).

shodatin, x-posted earlier. I have to ask for translations too, so I only really know the first line "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu" (the traditional saying "a person is a person through other persons"). But it's one of those "get in your head" tunes!

Glad you've had a good day as well, and made it to the garden centre.

And I hope the cybergarden's DC are doing well today.

to Pixielikescake, and kizzie when she gets back. And of course the other PixieLeaf, hob and madmouse.

Early night, so I'll just leave out a cosy pot of Brew for the star-gazers.

OP posts:
shodatin · 15/04/2011 23:12

Thanks for translation TIANC, and congratulations on your painting. It's

good to see the difference after any job, and painting's so satisfying.

Good to see you again, Pixie Cake; we're all glad snowmash is back, and hope life is good for you these days.
Will say a goodnight as I should have an early night too, and I guess Snowmash and hob will be sleeping . Good to know there's refreshment all ready in our cyber-garden in case any of us can't sleep, a lovely idea TIANC. Night.

Hi Pixie Leaf (belatedly waves back). I realise you're doing a great job on another topic and short of time but good to see you and hope all is well with your DD2 these days.
Morning all - lovely sunny day here so hope we all have a good day and snowmash is feeling more like herself as side-effects settle with time - it must be so difficult and you're being so patient there, I'm sure they'll be happy to keep you on an informal basis for as long as it takes. Good for you.

Well Pixie Leaf, my plan at the moment is to ask someone to please, please arrange another thread, because this is not something I've done before and it would be a shame to be without one while snowmash is stuck in the hospital.
My Saturday plans usually involve chores in order to have tomorrow "off", which is a shame as it's a beautiful day here too. Have done more gardening than usual, need to finish some sewing and write letters for the few Easter cards I send these days - sorry, really boring stuff here. Hope you all have a lovely lunch, everybody behaves well and there are no parking problems.

madmouse · 16/04/2011 13:34
