It's my fault that the NHS is too expensive

and I can't do anything about it :(

And we'll gladly get you some food and snacks for times like this - we know you should be eating. Hope you'not too exhausted after today.

snowmash · 03/03/2011 21:02

Don't think so, Pixie. I decided to do something foolish (but less foolish than the other possibilities) on my return. As a result, I can't move. Bit like someone doing 200 pushups.

Physical issue may be nothing (watchful waiting) but they are writing to Gp. ExPlains symptoms from a few years ago, but not something usual in late 20s which were put down to stress (vomiting/pain/not tolerating food).

Have to leave now so will say goodnight all, and I hope snowmash feels better soon.

Oof, just woken up to have dinner and say goodnight before crashing out again.

Really sorry you're immobile snowmash - hope that improves tomorrow.

Take good care, everyone, and sleep well.

shodatin · 04/03/2011 10:23

Morning all - snowmash, I do hope you're recovering this morning - yesterday must have been exhausting.

ThisIsANiceCage · 04/03/2011 10:44

Morning morning.

Hope we all got some rest. I'm a tad fragile today: guess you may be too, snowmash, after your exertions.

Hope everyone else is better than that.

shodatin, should have said further up, I'm really sorry to hear you need so much pain medication. Sad I do hope it's reasonable effective and you can at least sleep. Have some sympathy and a panacea Brew.

shodatin · 04/03/2011 11:52

Hi TIANC and thanks for sympathy, but am almost used to it now, and yes, I sleep wonderfully these days. Will join you in a Brew anytime, and hope you're feeling stronger very soon. At least we physically challenged mners can usually arrange our days to allow time for chatting, either here or RL.

Snowmash, I hope you're having a more relaxing day today (and more food today too).

Hi Pixie, you're definitely one of the lovely people and so is snowmush, if only she were here!

Hope you and family had a peaceful night and are having a break from tooth problems.

My laptop mentor is due soon, I do find some odd problems which she says are fun to fix (polite too)
so I expect to be away from thread for a while.

But I shall be back snowmash, to nag you about meals...

Ooh, Brew and Biscuit.Grin

Looks like I'm settling in to be properly ill for a few days (not unexpected after the exertions of Weds), so please excuse me if I'm monosyllabic and more than usually maladroit for a bit.

ThisIsANiceCage · 04/03/2011 15:04

Oh PixieL, didn't see that bit about DD2 - so sorry she's poorly again. Hope this was just a blip and she's on the up generally.

Do you ever get any sleep? Shock

What a lot of bad news! So sorry you're not well TIANC, and hope you improve after sufficient rest(and Brew)

How worrying for you Pixie having a sick child, so sorry to hear she's in hospital. Best wishes for her quick recovery.

ThisIsANiceCage · 04/03/2011 19:22

Oh I'll be reet if I stay flattish.

I hate who I am when I'm unwell. Just been mardy at DP for no other reason than I can't cook him the dinner he wanted or gush enthusiastically enough about his work success. Intellectually, I'm pleased for him; if he wants emotion, the only one on sale this evening is grumpiness.

IABU

showmash pls do pop in and say hi, or I'll be grumping about not seeing you as well. Wink

ThisIsANiceCage · 04/03/2011 19:33

And he's lovely and undemanding and generous, and peels me grapes (well, makes endless Brew), and I feel even worse about being such a shit.

Ho hum.

I know I have to forgive myself for being so crap, otherwise the beating myself up about it just makes things spiral down. The more I hate myself, the mardier I get, the worse I am to him.

It's bloody hard work forgiving oneself. Even if intellectually one knows it's the only way to break the cycle. Poor DP.

I'm really sorry people are feeling rough/poorly, and hope DD2 gets improvement soon, Pixie. :(

Gin/tea/hugs as needed.

I'm joining it i think... Was advised today I should get myself struck off (by a former mentor).

Hey TIANC, its bloody hard work being ill. You know you're doing all you can to be normal as possible - is it your fault you can't be absolutely perfect every minute of every day? Please don't feel bad that you can't be sunny all the time, I think you do amazingly well most of the time (and your lovely DP probably thinks so too)

shodatin · 04/03/2011 20:17

And hello to snowmash, sorry if you've been upset today, maybe your ex-mentor was having a bad day?
What are your feelings about it?

snowmash · 04/03/2011 20:28

Struck off my professional register. They only suggest that where they think you don't have insight, and looking at another friend's messAges they've said the hospital may think I have impaired insight (!?!?) :( I thought depression affected judgement.

OP posts:
madmouse · 04/03/2011 20:59

snowmash yes I'm sorry to say that I think you did lose insight and that you don't quite have it back yet. But no I don't think this is the time to think about striking yourself off the register. You're not currently working I think so what's the rush.

This is not the time for any big decisions.
