and I can't do anything about it :(

Our local library has the same problem, even though they must know the public are in coats (and hats and boots) in this weather.
Hope your meals have warmed up a bit snowmash, and that you're feeling more comfortable.

snowmash · 28/02/2011 17:42

Poor plants tianc :( I'll cross fingers for them. I think teatime was just unfortunate shodatin very dry and salty protein so nobody ate it (even thosethat eat everything pushed it aside). Guess who getsyelled at in front of everyone and told they will have double pudding (I know it sounds good, not always a bonus).

Hoping tomorrow brings better

Thanks, snowmash, here's hoping it's just a light frost. Did a bit of gardening today, cutting back dead stuff from the savage winter, and the good news is all the plants are still alive - though some are now rather stubby! Nothing a good summer won't fix. Smile

Shodatin, how will your new rose do, do you think?

But sorry you got shouted at when the food was horrid, snowmash. Like you say, here's hoping for better tomorrow.

Oh WOW! Now look what we've got!

Sorry you got shouted at snowmash, seems the meal providers need shouting at if most patients found the food inedible. I'm wondering just what kind of protein it was - do you mean something indistinguishable? They should be ashamed. I do hope the pudding was better.

TIANC, new rose is temporarily in a container, until we dig out an old euonymous (sp?). I'm so pleased - and a bit jealous - that all your plants have survived, my Bowles Blue Cheiranthus, young artichoke and whole tub of stocks have been finished off by frost, never lost so much before, and am uncertain about the bay bush. Very sad.

snowmash · 28/02/2011 19:51

Pudding was also dry (fishcakes then scones)

Makes a mental note to remember pixie's birthday.

I'm trying not to stress about ward round tomorrow

OP posts:
shodatin · 28/02/2011 20:04

I remember you mentioning the consultant was due on Tuesday snowmash, is this the ward round? It's possible he'll be pleased that you're now taking the meds and starting to get better. I would definitely tell him about the food difficulties, and that you are now making an effort to eat.
I hope you are starting to feel better with the anti-ds.

m too tired to stay awake, so will say goodnight now.
Hope ward temperature is not too bad, snowmash. Night.

snowmash · 28/02/2011 23:12

Night shodatin. Sleep well! Same to everyone.

I'm trying not to think. A new lady stopped me in the corridor and asked if I was voluntary. I said no. So she asked why I didn't volunteer. I said it hadn't been offered and she said I must've done something very bad. :( so she knows I am.

Night all.

Hello snowmash.

I have been reading with interest for a while. Sorry to hear you are now in hospital. I work in one and it's been helpful for me to hear your thoughts and observations on being in one. I think it's poor that wheelchair access hasn't been easy.

I'm hoping that soon you will get some leave. Sorry about all the blood tests, I hate them so that would be very upsetting for me as I'm sure it is for you.

Hope things get better soon.

madmouse · 01/03/2011 09:47

snowmash that lady has her own reasons for being a patient in the W - she's not there for fun either and there is no reason for you to listen to what she says and take it to heart. just smile at her and nod.

you are not bad

Have a bunch of flowers St Davids

shodatin · 01/03/2011 10:10

Morning snowmash, hope consultant is pleased with your progress today. The lady in corridor is obviously a patient, so not the best person to make a judgement on anyone else - you're a really nice person and not bad at all - as people have suggested, ask consultant what he thinks!
Hi Pixie, I think this is St.David's Day, so Happy Birthday, and hope you enjoy the daySt DavidsSt DavidsSt Davids (hope some daffs appear for you)

Morning all. Hope everyone got some rest.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIXIEONALEAF! St DavidsSt DavidsSt DavidsSt Davids

And some extra St DavidsSt DavidsSt DavidsSt Davids for snowmash. Because I can!

My daffs are still buds. Talking of which, no frost! Thank you for those crossed fingers. shodatin, hope you also escaped.

shodatin · 01/03/2011 13:58

Thanks TIANC but don't know yet, been just too busy to look this morning. It's a beautiful, sunny day here, so will maybe get to garden this p.m.

How did you get on with consult snowmash? and
" " " " " " lunch today? Both good, I hope.

snowmash · 01/03/2011 16:06

I think the new lady has p*d off most of the other pts and feel sorry for her (as long as I'm not in the same room). I think it must be very hard to have mania (would try and listen, but I just can't keep up at all). Even worse that she'a visiting so she doesnt have a psych here.

Not sure about consultant. Looks like I am here for another week and was talking about adding an antipsychotic. And said we might not be able to agree on treatment but that I needed to be treated.

OP posts:
snowmash · 01/03/2011 16:07

Happy birthday Pixie!!!!!

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 01/03/2011 16:28

She sounds quite tiring, hope she comes down from the mania soon. It's really lovely of you to be giving her your time and energy.

Sorry it's another week. But I can imagine they feel that's the safest place to be if they're still fiddling with your meds.

By the way, sympathy about the vile liquid medicines. Don't know what yours are, but I was on some while adjusting dose, and . Mind you, after the tablets it almost tasted nice! Envy (that's vomit, not envy)

shodatin · 01/03/2011 17:09

It does look like another week, which is a shame, but they will have to get the meds right and stabilised before you can leave. They are quite certain that you need the medication, whether it's expensive or not, so best to go along with it. I have some liquid stuff to take 3xdaily, which can sometimes be horrible depending on the base they use, but I'm grateful to pain clinic and glad I've got it (usually)

shodatin · 01/03/2011 17:12

I'm forgetting - fingers crossed for nice hot and juicy meal due about now.

snowmash · 01/03/2011 17:37

Thanks for the sympathy tianc ...they are definitely adding an antipsychotic :( :( :( (anyone would think I'm not happy)

Thanks shodatin for your sympathy too - feeling a bit bleak about it.

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 01/03/2011 17:41

No kiddin'? (about the not happy) Sad

Is there some particular stress about being on anti-psychotics, other than the general being-on-meds stress?
