Fantastic loss @Tunneltiger! Well done on such an amazing loss over 6 weeks.

it’s my 7 week weigh in tomorrow and I’m I’m currently sat on a slight gain after the weekend but hoping I might nudge down again by tomorrow.

I’m having lots of tea with milk but trying to limit how much when I’m fasting (I’m not very successful at this). I did try to go without but just felt fairly miserable so started having the milk again and I’ve continued to lose.

Anewagain · 14/02/2023 07:41

1.25lbs down this week. 23lbs off in 7 weeks.

Last two weeks have been painfully slow. I’ve had two weekends off but also my period is due in a day or two so I expect things to speed up again after that.

sheepdreams · 14/02/2023 07:50

Hello all
my willpower has been terrible! Partially due to lack of sleep and stressful work situation. I have gradually cut down the carbs but need to reduce further the cravings are real! Any tips. Your posts are so inspirational hearing of your losses so I will keep on keeping on.

plan today - fast until 12
prawn salad
salmon and Mediterranean veg
lots of herbal tea and blk coffee.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 14/02/2023 12:15

One positive of this approach is that the amount of packaging I have to recycle has dropped off. My blue bin used to be full to overflowing but now it isn't. Small wins!

@Anewagain 23lb in 7 weeks is brilliant! Well done!

Tunneltiger · 14/02/2023 15:35

The is an amazing loss @Anewagain well done! I can relate to the carb cravings caused by sleep deprivation and stress @sheepdreams . Don't think there is any magic bullet but konjac powder capsules and bovril worked for me! Salute your blue bin win @TooExtraImmatureCheddar , the rest of the family are still managing to keep ours full (how much almond milk is it possible to drink). Our glass recycling bin, however, is the envy of the cul de sac. Empty sun-dried tomato jars and olive oil bottles. None of that nasty beer or wine, oh no.

Anewagain · 16/02/2023 19:16

Thank you @Tunneltiger and @TooExtraImmatureCheddar. Sleep and stress can make things a struggle for me too @sheepdreams .
hope everyone’s having a good weekend.

The chickpea patties and salad for me for dinner tonight. They’re my favourite and have been for ages but I may have just worked out a way to ensure they stick together as they have tended to crumble on me when cooking - by putting them in the fridge for a bit before frying them.

Anewagain · 16/02/2023 19:16

A good week! It’s still only Thursday…

iloveyoubutilovememore · 17/02/2023 14:29

Another pound down for me! I’ve had a couple of glasses of Prosecco too this week. Finding it easier nearly two weeks in and definitely going to stick with this until I hit the stone mark. Has anyone been doing 800cals for a long time or longer than the two weeks?

Tunneltiger · 18/02/2023 11:17

Chickpea patties sound great @Anewagain I'm going to try them. I have been doing 800cals for 7 weeks now @iloveyoubutilovememore and am intending to keep it up for the full 12 weeks. I find it difficult to lose weight at the best of times and the consistent loss on the F800 is very motivating. Having said that, things seem to have slowed down a bit this week and I notice that the keto sticks are pale pink for the last few days. Looking at what I am eating nothing much has changed but I have started drinking flavoured mineral water. This is pretty minuscule in carb and calorie content but I'm wondering it it could have knocked me out of keto. Any thoughts/experience on this would be welcome.
Saturday is always steak night here, with the romesco sauce from the book. After 7 weeks on the wagon, still not tempted to have wine with it - which is something of a miracle for us!
Hope everybody has a great weekend.

Anewagain · 18/02/2023 11:34

Hope you like them @Tunneltiger! I save calories and eat four (at 400 calories) with salad rather than two as a portion. I put four uncooked in the fridge for the next day. I don’t know about the mineral water @Tunneltiger.

This is my 8th week and I too aim to do the full 12 weeks. I still have lots to lose but by week 7 I’d lost 10% of my starting weight and there’s a dramatic difference. I agree on the motivation of losing it quickly - sliding isn’t worth it because I’ve lost such a lot and it’s sustainable, I enjoy what I eat and I’m not hungry.

I’m fairly strict - no alcohol and meals from the recipe books when I can apart from I’ve had about 4-5 days off spread throughout the 8 weeks, including the last two weekends for a birthday, a weekend away etc.

After two very slow weeks with those weekends off, it looks like I’m set for a whoosh this week! I’ll report back on Tuesday.

Steak sounds good and a good weekend meal.

I’ve just completed week 8 run 1 of the Couch to 5K app - so a 28 minute run!! - and now meal planning.

Chunkymonkey123 · 19/02/2023 19:38

Hello! I am back again (4th time on this diet) and starting tomorrow. Just had my last food for the week and posting to be accountable.
Very impressed by the weight losses on here reading the last few pages of the thread!
I was 10.2 before Christmas but I would guess half a stone more than that now. Girls holiday in May that I would like to feel good for. This has worked really well for me previously so just need to get past the first few days!
Food tomorrow:
Baked eggs and bacon for breakfast (290)
meatballs and courgetti for dinner (400)
110 for 5 cups of tea. Olives and ham for a snack if I’m desperate!

iloveyoubutilovememore · 19/02/2023 20:59

Wahh I fell off the wagon. Had a date day yesterday with OH so allowed myself to be 'naughty' and had the most amazing fried chicken for lunch followed by nutella icecream & strawberry sorbet. Oh and some fudge late last night. Jumped on the scales this morning and somehow gained 2 pounds just from yesterdays splurge?! Have been much better today but not as strict as usual.

Tunneltiger · 20/02/2023 11:03

Hi @Chunkymonkey123 ! I am on 3rd go at fast800 and I think I will just have to keep on coming back to it because I can't keep it off despite best efforts. Wagons are easy to climb back on @iloveyoubutilovememore and the fried chicken sounds irresistible.
For all sorts of reasons I didn't eat until 7.30 yesterday so well below calories and a good fast - that will set me up for a planned splurge tomorrow when I have promised everyone pancakes.
Today going with chicken curry soup and something with eggs. Good luck all!

Chunkymonkey123 · 20/02/2023 20:59

@iloveyoubutilovememore that will just be water weight, you can’t physically put on two pounds unless you ate 8000 calories yesterday which would be impressive!!
Ive eaten 830 today which is good. Very hungry now so need to go to bed! Made my salad for lunch tomorrow and will have leftover lamb and veg for dinner.
Good luck everyone!

Anewagain · 21/02/2023 06:58

This is my second go with Fast 800 @Chunkymonkey123 and I’ll most likely be back again, just hopefully not with as much to lose!
Those two pounds will disappear quickly @iloveyoubutilovememore

Today marks the end of week 8 for me and <drumroll> I have now lost ….
28.5lbs!
Just over 2 stone!
After two very slow weeks with weekends off, I lost 5.5lbs in week 8.

I also completed week 7 of the Couch to 5K app.

Chunkymonkey123 · 21/02/2023 18:05

@Anewagain That is amazing! Both with the weight loss and the running, well done! You must feel so different?!

Day 2 food done for me and I’m at 810, might have another cup of milky tea but hopefully no more food.

ladyandthechocolate · 22/02/2023 04:00

Can I join you all please?
4am here and DH is snoring like mad and keeping me awake.
I’ve been faffing round losing and gaining a few pounds for months and months and I just need to get on with it. I need to lose about 2 stone really. I’m tall so I carry extra weight without looking visibly fat (or so I thought 😫) but I had some website photos taken on Monday and I am looking decidedly chunky and really broad. Too chunky for my favourite clothes too.
i am thinking of signing up for the online program- would people recommend?
I’m planning to start Saturday or Sunday as I have a meal out with friends on Friday night.

LotsOfTrees · 22/02/2023 08:03

Thank you @Chunkymonkey123 - feeling so much better!
Welcome @ladyandthechocolate !

xraydelta · 22/02/2023 11:58

Urhhhh. I feel such a failure. I am trying so hard, but I have yet to get back to the weight I was the week before Christmas, let alone close to losing more.

I really should never have let things go over Christmas (and then January!)

I am now ten days straight of exercising and this week I am being super strict and weighing everything! I am also only eating lunch and dinner and divided up the 800 calories between the two so I am hitting IF goals as well.

I made the beef stroganoff from the Fast 800 site this morning, as I was putting off work. I made two portions and have divided it up and it's in the fridge. I'll have one portion today and one tomorrow. I have a half portion of the teriyaki salmon and stir fry in the fridge to have for my other meal today and can pad that out with extra broccoli and pepper.

I am super depressed at the scales thought. Where has this weight come from? 🤷🏻‍♀️

(The answer is cake. It comes from kuchen all over Christmas week while away! And wine. It also comes from way too much wine 🙈)

Yes. I would recommend the online programme.

I use it, and even though I could have stopped after the initial 12 weeks, I have actually kept it going as it's been really helpful in meal planning.

I have the books too, but haven't looked at them for meal ideas since I signed up to the online programme.

For me, it's been worth it. I will keep subscribing until I want to maintain I think.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/02/2023 13:04

Hi everyone, still plugging away here! Now on 12.5lbs lost in 6ish weeks. That’s with a few nights out/couple of glasses of wine on some weekends —and one complete blowout weekend— so compliance hasn’t been 100% but it’s a level I can live with. I’m in an annoying limbo between my newest bigger clothes for wfh looking loose but my older smart work clothes still being a bit tight. Haven’t really bought any new work clothes since pre-lockdown which is making dressing for work tricky. Half a stone more will fix that, but I really want to keep going so that I get right down to a healthy BMI. Do you have to stop at week 12 if your average loss is 2lbs a week?

@Anewagain, that’s an amazing loss, well done you!

Welcome newbies! Come and join us!

Anewagain · 22/02/2023 18:36

Thank you @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and well done on your loss too!

My current plan is to add 400 more calories after the 12 weeks so it’s less extreme. I’ve never tried any of the breakfast or sweet treat recipes so I’m looking forward to trying some of those. I may change my mind though.

Welcome back@xraydelta On one of Michael Mosley’s programmes one of the scientists said it’s better to lose and regain and lose again than to never lose anything. We’ve all been there and most of us will need to keep coming back probably but keeping trying and failing is better than never losing.

ladyandthechocolate · 22/02/2023 21:44

Thanks for your welcome!
Going to sign up online and plan my start for the weekend or just after. I know Saturday isn’t the greatest starting day but Monday is a long hard day for me work wise and I think to have two days of the diet behind me already might be a good thing.

xraydelta · 23/02/2023 11:17

Good morning, everyone! ☀️

I was up and at a gym class at 6:30. I have no real choice where I live (provincial!) and it is soooooo boring and uninspiring compared to the city gym I went to every day last week.

I NEED the happy chatter. The high fives from gym instructors. The encouragement. The positive energy. Not a load of bored adults following a white board of instructions 🙄

But it is what it is. I shall continue to go as there is no other alternative.

I haven't eaten yet. I am planning green fritters for lunch and the second half of my beef thing I made yesterday for dinner.

@Anewagain my app that's linked to my weighing scales is just going up and down and up and down 😆 But I do agree; it's much better than not having done anything.

@ladyandthechocolate The best of luck. Don't feel obliged to buy the programme though from me. I don't want to pressure you into spending money and I know loads of people on here do brilliantly with just the books and searching for recipes. For me though, it has been incredibly useful and I've kept it going on monthly subscription. I think you have to start on a Monday from what I remember but you definately should cut carbs this weekend in preparation and not have a big blow out. It will be so much easier on Monday if you have eased into it over the next few days.

ladyandthechocolate · 23/02/2023 18:34

Thanks @xraydelta - I have now signed up (I also get NHS discount so that was good).

The set up asks me if want to do fast 800 keto. Do I? I said no but I guess I can change that. I guess it refers to the carb content in the food. Is it better to do the keto version?
