I’ve been stuck on the same weight for 6 days now - so fed up! Up and down tiny increments of a pound. I’m up a whole pound this morning but that’s because I was so hacked off with it yesterday I made one of the mug cake things out of the recipe book. I’m unlikely to see the scales move tomorrow morning because I always eat late on a Mon after my 8pm exercise class.

Anewagain · 06/02/2023 10:27

That’s tough @TooExtraImmatureCheddar. Hope the mug cake was good though!

I’m down 0.5lbs so far this week which is a win because it comes after a weekend of celebrations and so not so healthy eating.

Tunneltiger · 06/02/2023 10:27

Stick at it @TooExtraImmatureCheddar !. I had a week of very stubborn scales and just had a 2.4lb whoosh this morning. You just need to face them down.
I had a longer look at my weight loss history just out of interest. Since January I have been losing at a rate of 2.5 ish lbs per week on average. The loss has felt frustratingly slow but I fished out some results from a 12 week stint on Second Nature a couple of years ago- and I managed 15lbs in 12 weeks, which I thought was good at the time, but what was I thinking! And how much did those lbs cost me? On the Fast 800 Keto I've lost 20lbs in 5 weeks.

Enthusiasm renewed, I am going with Boursin courgetti today and blue cheese chicory and walnut salad.

Good luck everyone!

Anewagain · 06/02/2023 10:29

Fantastic - well done @Tunneltiger !

Anewagain · 07/02/2023 06:53

Weigh in day for me today and now I’m up 0.5lbs after being down 0.5lbs yesterday. But I’m down 21.75lbs in 6 weeks so still happy - just was secretly hoping for a bit of a whoosh today rather than a gain.

Tunneltiger · 07/02/2023 10:01

That is a brilliant loss for 6 weeks @Anewagain ! It is disheartening to see the scale nudge up but you know it isn't real. Do you have the Happy Scale app? - that evens out weight recorded on a daily basis to show the average and trend.
Today going with kipper and poached eggs with cabbage papparadelle, walnut and gorgonzola and hoping to come in under 800 as the last few days have been nudging 1K.
Good luck everyone!

Anewagain · 07/02/2023 11:32

Thank you @Tunneltiger - I do have the Happy Scale app and appreciate the motivation of seeing where I will be if I continue. I also now know - by comparing entries and dates - that I gained a pound at pretty much this exact point in my monthly cycle in January so that very likely explains the slight gain today.

I’m also fairly sure I look slimmer in the clothes I’m wearing today - my waist is so much more defined… so it’s working.

I don’t ever cook kipper but that sounds like a lovely recipe

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/02/2023 07:42

Well done @Anewagain, that’s an amazing amount to lose in 6 weeks! I bet you look much slimmer in your clothes, you must do.

@Tunneltiger, thank you for the kind words, and it’s very heartening to hear of your whoosh!

I am now 4 weeks in and have lost 9lbs, which is brilliant for me. Very pleased with that, given that I’ve had a couple of nights out and drunk wine at weekends a bit. I’ve also been doing classic Fast 800 rather than keto, so that might have made it a little slower. I’ve finally dropped another pound so fingers crossed I’m past the dreaded plateau. My clothes are definitely getting looser - I tried on some red cords that I bought 2 winters ago and never wore because they were always too tight, and they are nearly there!

I’m away at my in-laws this weekend so will relax a bit - their food is always healthy and homemade so it shouldn’t be too bad. But we’ll be home on Mon and I shall be back on it then!

Tunneltiger · 08/02/2023 14:59

I am in awe of your drinking at weekends and STILL losing @TooExtraImmatureCheddar . One glass of wine and I'm toast, or at least eating toast.
I'm using the very last of my Lo-dough today (sob) for a pepperoni pizza and with a rollmop salad, that comes in at 814 which is not bad for me (as long as I can keep out of the nut bowl.)

sheepdreams · 09/02/2023 04:17

Hi all

been reading the thread and would love to join you. I am prepping to start the diet on Saturday (have a few days away) so will start when I return. I’ve been inspired by your losses. I’m also hoping one of the NSV is better sleep!

I’ve got 2 stone to lose and think losing it fairly quickly will keep me motivated to get to goal.

Tunneltiger · 09/02/2023 09:54

Hello @sheepdreams . I am certainly sleeping better - I think its down to not having any wine!
Today I'm going with chicory blue cheese and walnut salad for lunch and Boursin courgetti later on. Trip to the movies tonight so hoping that keeps the munchies away.

Anewagain · 09/02/2023 09:55

Welcome and good luck @sheepdreams.

I’m back to what I lost before last weekend but another full weekend ahead with meals with friends so I’m likely to be up and down over the next week too.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/02/2023 14:22

Hi @sheepdreams, welcome!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/02/2023 15:49

<drumroll> I am not obese any more! 10lbs off, and officially under BMI 30! Happy dancing here. So pleased with that. Next goal is to lose another 10lbs. I am celebrating with a meal out tonight, but will be back on it tomorrow and refocus.

Anewagain · 10/02/2023 16:47

Fantastic @TooExtraImmatureCheddar ! Enjoy your celebration meal. I’ll be there very soon hopefully too but I’m also having the first part of the weekend off.

QuiltedBear · 10/02/2023 19:42

Oh well done @TooExtraImmatureCheddar ! That is a fantastic achievement!

iloveyoubutilovememore · 10/02/2023 20:17

Hi all am I ok to join? Congrats on all these losses however big or small they are you’re still losing! And staying motivated too.

I started the fast 800 on Monday. After yet another weekend of binging and eating so much bloody sugar I had enough. I started it at 10st 10lb (I’m 5’3) and by this morning I was 10st 5 so I’ve lost five pounds in five days! Which has been great to see although most of it is water retention. The first few days were absolutely dreadful, food was constantly on my mind and felt super tired. By day four things started to improve and dare I say today I’ve felt fine and as if I’m in a new eating routine? I’m also enjoying the fasting, which I previously thought would be impossible!

Im still craving sugar and sweet stuff though as I’m a huge chocoholic. Any recipes or tips? As we approach the weekend I’m anxious I’ll fall off the wagon and REALLY don’t want to :(

QuiltedBear · 10/02/2023 22:42

I’d say cold turkey is the best answer to sugar cravings. I’m six weeks in and I find my appetite much easier to control when I’m low carbing. Eating sugar seems to drive cravings for more sugar.

I had my first Coca Cola of the year this week (pre diet I would drink at least one a day) and I was so disappointed! Found it overly sweet and cloying. So your tastes will adapt - I find one of DS’s no added sugar Yeo Valley yogurts quite satisfying now.

Anewagain · 12/02/2023 12:51

I agree on going cold turkey is the way forward - but for me it hasn’t changed my love of all things sweet (as this weekend has shown!) so I will likely always need to be careful to be moderate when it comes to sugar.

QuiltedBear · 12/02/2023 20:12

I should probably clarify - I do still love sweet things, and would love to have more hot chocolate and ice cream.

But I find it easier to stick to the diet if I’m strict about the low carb side of things. If I have a bit of sugar then it seems to trigger much stronger cravings and a “just a little bit more” mentality.

When I’m having no added sugar at all then even a Yeo valley no added sugar yogurt can feel like a treat!

But I do still stare longingly at DS’s hot chocolate and ice cream… (Not an everyday thing, for both our sakes!)

Anewagain · 12/02/2023 20:25

Oh that’s helpful to know @QuiltedBear because that’s exactly the same as for me then. A friend brought round a box of chocolates today and the struggle is real!

Tunneltiger · 13/02/2023 13:52

Hello @iloveyoubutilovememore. Agree with all on the sugar issue. Best avoided. I had one segment of chocolate orange, forced on me by DD and I was still reliving the taste 4 days later.
Today marks 6 weeks of F800K and I am 22lbs down overall. I'm a bit of a shortarse so I find it quite hard to lose and very easy to gain so this is a very good result for me. I've pretty much given up on sweet things and haven't had any alcohol this year. Intending to keep it that way until I get to where I feel comfortable and then rethink lifestyle choices to stay there. Had my first challenge yesterday with a VIP birthday party (all day) and managed to avoid alcohol and cake. Coped with the rest of the food by having the dog by my side at all times helping me out.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/02/2023 15:48

Morning all! Back up 3lb after a lavish weekend - meal out wasn’t all that, but it was completely enormous! Then somehow the rest of the weekend went downhill from there. I’m back on it today, though. Greek salad for lunch and chicken casserole for dinner, both from the Fast800 book.

@Tunneltiger 22lbs in 6 weeks is brilliant! I am in awe at your ability to stick to it properly. Must up my game.

iloveyoubutilovememore · 13/02/2023 16:31

Thanks all for the tips. I agree that it’s easier to just cut sugar completely although I had a baby shower yesterday and had a wedge of gluten free chocolate caterpillar cake, it was nice but then for the rest of the day I had a banging headache and wanted more! I also had a few bits of the beige food but instead of punishing myself had a healthier dinner. Wow @Tunneltiger so inspiring! I’m seven days in and have lost four pounds. I check my weight each morning and for the last few days have stayed the same so not sure where I’ve gone wrong or if I should just weigh myself weekly. Is anyone having tea/coffee with milk in the mornings? I can’t do black coffee I’d rather have nothing!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/02/2023 16:53

I’m having tea with milk - probably 4 or 5 cups over the course of the day. I’m not counting that in my calories and it hasn’t been a problem yet.
