I find weekends hard always.. had Sunday lunch at my sisters and she did roast beef but I just had the beef broccoli and carrots and a ( freakishly small) roast potato.. so it mightn't have been too bad.. Back on the wagon tomorrow, trying to not to weigh myself daily as it only drives me bad.. going to hold off till neater the end of next week and will hopefully see some progress then.

Addidas · 26/02/2023 21:35

I’m back for the 1000th time! I really didn’t want to post again as I keep going on and off but actually need to commit! I have no holidays or big celebrations coming up . So no excuses! I’m getting closer to the big 40 and really need to do this before it gets even harder.
I need to totally stay of bad carbs I’ve realised once I start I can’t stop and I spiral out of control.

starting weight to be reported tmrw but it won’t be good! I’ve not really been on plan prop since nov!
hi to everyone you are all doing great unlike me :(

plan tmrw
coconut yoghurt and passion fruit
feta and bean salad from keto book
home made turkey burgers and salad on side

comes in at 1000 and 20g.

weight will be reported daily. Aiming to stick at 900/1000 anything hugely under I end up having a binge

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 03:03

Hello again @Addidas 👋🏻 So happy to see a familiar name.

I am determined this is it for me and it's time to just do this and cease the infernal yo yo ing of falling off Fast 800 and into a huge plate of carbs. I need this to work long term and be sustainable. I need to get my weight down and maintain it. I need not to see this weight on the scales again, ever.

I can't sleep now though as I'm so worried about sleeping through my alarm and missing my early morning gym class 😆

Addidas · 27/02/2023 07:32

@xraydelta I feel the same. Ugh. Least we keep trying (though I keep failing). Hope you made your class!

sw 11.5 (sob sob)
gw 10.6
bmi currently 25.5

good luck everyone.

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 08:52

I did make it! I almost bailed and was pleased I didn't. I like my gym instructor on a Monday and Wednesday early mornings. It was a tough class, but doable. And it was starting to get light when I got out just before 7, which is always heartening. Soon it will be light when I drive there.

@Addidas when I weighted myself last Monday I was 11 stone 7! AND I had been exercising for the previous seven days fairly intensely before I weighed myself. God knows what I had let myself get to :-( But I felt really fat two weeks ago.

I have dropped to just over 11 stone and gone down to 24.2 BMI in a week. You can definitely do this and get back on track this week!

I no longer feel "fat". I have done 15 continuous days now of a gym class a day and I can really notice a difference. My stomach muscles are still shot to pieces, but even those feel slightly better.

My menu today:

No breakfast
Courgette pizza for lunch
Pesto fish with many different greens for dinner that I am going to blanch then fry with oil and lemon

827 calories and 12.3g carbs

I have some celery to snack on if I need it. I have needed celery and a spot of cheese recently between lunch and dinner.

I am just finishing a black coffee and now I need to help write the teen's art homework bollocks before the day properly starts.

I am struggling getting my step count up though, which I think would help. It's hovering around 6,000 steps a day on average. It is so bloody cold and my elderly injured dog doesn't want to go beyond the local park for ten minutes a day. It's just wet and miserable and not the kind of weather I want to be out walking in.

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 08:55

PS @Anewagain the parmesan chicken gougons were amazing! They definitely need the polenta. But now they are off the Fast 800 site, I don't know what the calorie and carb count is and it didn't appear on that link (VERY good you found that, thank you again; I have saved the page as a favourite).

My teen really liked them too, although she moaned that I didn't do her any chips alongside.

They will definitely feature again on my meal planning.

How did you like them?

Goodiewhemper · 27/02/2023 09:27

Good morning. Can I join you all?bI had good success in the original fasting 500 5:2 a number of years ago and was in the thread here with BigChocFrenzy. I then had a period of ill health resulting in a coeliac diagnosis and had some shoulder surgery and a foot injury last year. I used to walk 15,000 a day and do Pilates and Shred. I need to get back to Pilates but need physio guided strength training so I don't do any damage. I also need to get my steps back up.

To complicate things recent blood tests, to check my hormones prior to starting HRT, showed I had high cholesterol. The GP felt that the HRT would help but to be sensible in my dietary choices in the meantime. I suspect that I may be insulin resistant (diabetes in pregnancy and family history of Type 2 diabetes) and feel I need a reset and get back to myself. I have a terribly sweet tooth and love carbs - bread, cake and biscuits. I am a terrible sleeper.

I am now on HRT for 6 months and due back to my GP next week for a check up. I am in my mid 50s, weigh 83.3kg and am 5' 6". I really want to get to 80kg then to 75kg and see how I feel. My energy and vitality are on the ground and I didn't feel like myself at all. Your support in finding my way back would be great.

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 11:32

Oh gosh @Goodiewhemper you have been through the absolute wringer in the last couple of years. That's awful.

Welcome!

What does the GP suggest in terms of physio led exercise? Can they give any guidance?

The paid part of Fast 800 does have a great exercise programme, you can follow at home. But it's whether you want to pay for the 12 weeks subscription or not? There might be some deals around? I joined when there was 20% off.

My personal trainer I used before Christmas was physio trained first, so that's another option if you have anyone near you?

But I would go gently and get steps up first before adding exercise (I did not take this advice! 😆)

Getting back on this has overall helped my sleep and my carb and sweet cravings. Apart from last night when I couldn't sleep 🙄 But in general it has. Hopefully it will for you too?

Do you have a book on Fast 800?

Addidas · 27/02/2023 12:56

@xraydelta do you count your greens on your cal/carb? I do but it’s a good 150 cals a day and wondering if I shouldn’t (greens are not why I’m here!)

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 13:11

@addidas, today I have counted the greens and the oil. But occasionally, I will add them and not do. I think MM says to ignore them in his book, but then conversely adds them into many of his recipe counts 🤷🏻‍♀️

I sometimes crave broccoli weirdly.

SquidSquad · 27/02/2023 14:35

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcomes. I’ve done ok over the weekend - think around 900/1000 rather than 800. But not bad considering the kids were around with cake!

I’m trying not to weigh myself for a few days so I don’t get disheartened if there’s no big drop. When I did it last summer I lost something like 7lb in the first week! Which was amazing. But don’t think I’ve been strict enough this time.
I love hearing all your recipe ideas.

Addidas · 27/02/2023 17:34

kitchen closed at 1000 cals and 19g carbs counting my milk in coffees and also greens.

tmrw plan is
eggs and ham brekkie
turkey burger left over with brocolli (no bread of course)
cod and coconut curry with cauliflower rice

im going to try skip brekkie and have bigger lunch but I seem to be better on 3 meals

xraydelta · 27/02/2023 18:28

Sounds a great start @SquidSquad Eating around kids and cake is hard!

@Addidas, that's fab.

I had lunch around 2pm as dinner won't be until 8 as my little teen needs collecting. Although I am waiting to eat with her, she is refusing, just refusing to eat pesto baked fish with me 🙄 😆

Chunkymonkey123 · 27/02/2023 21:10

Well done to everyone, I think keep getting back on the wagon is better than staying off it permanently!
I am down 2.5 pounds in my first week which considering I have drunk wine and cheated mildly (prob 1400) for the past 3 days is not too bad. 4 pounds to my pre Christmas weight and 8 to fit in my summer shorts!
I’m trying to have a low carb brunch and then a small dinner. Really need to menu plan this week. I did the roast chicken from the fast 800 recipe book last night and it was really lovely.

Crazycrazylady · 27/02/2023 21:46

Well done addidas on the 1000 calories and the 19g carbs , that's very impressive.. I seem to manage the calories easy enough but really struggle on keeping carbs low.
I'm 11.4 trying to get down to 10,5 so you're going to be my inspiration

iloveyoubutilovememore · 27/02/2023 22:21

Totally agree with you @Chunkymonkey123 about getting back to it. On other diets I’d normally just continue to binge at lesser amounts and feel awful about myself for days on end, but today I cracked on and didn’t break the fast until 12 with a latte and a small banana. Had chicken salad for lunch, an apple and eggs for dinner. Had two squares of ultra dark chocolate as had such a sweet tooth this afternoon but again instead of punishing myself I thought it’s better than eating a large bar of galaxy! Well done everyone on ploughing through - we can do this

Anewagain · 28/02/2023 07:01

So glad you enjoyed the recipe @xraydelta Here it is in the book so you can have the nutrion details.

End of week 9 loss was 3.75lbs taking me to a total of 32.25lbs lost overall. Three more weeks of strict Fast 800 to go buy with a couple of meals out planned along the way too so not completely strict.

I’ve started to get a couple of comments on how well I’m looking (I’m guessing people are kindly avoiding saying I’ve lost weight) but I am feeling a lot better and brighter too.

Addidas · 28/02/2023 07:29

@Crazycrazylady oh great! We can spur eachother on. I usually get to 11 and then stop! Then end up back on here a few months later. Not this time!

today 11.4 . So a pound off. Know it’s water but glad it went down!

hoping I can can skip brekkie and have larger lunch and dinner but I often struggle.

good luck everyone.

Crazycrazylady · 28/02/2023 09:09

@addidas that's totally me as well.. my body wants to sit at 11 so matter how 'good' I am. At this stage I know though that once I get the scales to eventually move below it, it's possible.
I was 11.4 today too so delighted with that
Don't notice it in my clothes yet but hopefully when I get to 11, I will notice something!

Addidas · 28/02/2023 13:26

Ended up having brekkie but was ok with 1 egg and some ham rather than 2 eggs. Lunch eaten (hard to calorie up when it’s a big curry you take some from but hoping I’ve guesstimated right)
tea will be at 5ish
should be 950 today x

how is everyone else today?

Addidas · 28/02/2023 17:36

Closed at 100 and 38g carbs as I stupidly had a large spoon of my sons icecream

annoyed at self now!

Addidas · 28/02/2023 17:36

1000

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/02/2023 19:41

Hi all, lovely to see more people on this thread! I’m still here, hanging on by my fingernails. Slipped and fell off on Sun and had a chipper. I’ve been back on it this week but I’m 2lbs up, grr! One bad meal! Hoping it’s gone by tomorrow. My exercise resolution needs a bit of a push but will try for tomorrow morning before work. I’ve been hovering between 12 and 13lbs off for a week and it’s so frustrating - I’m so close to a stone!

Chunkymonkey123 · 28/02/2023 19:54

900, I’m starving!!
