Well done @Justasecondnow that's great!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 14/08/2020 11:47

Today's plan:

TRE 18:6

Lunch: omelette

Dinner: steak salad and veg.

Exercise: hiit and a 22km cycle (poss 44km, I'll see)

Feeling very positive today and seeing the successes is definitely helping!

Flibbertyjibbit · 14/08/2020 14:40

Well done @Justasecondnow Flowers that's very motivating as I'm on day 3 of week 1!

Today is

B: Greek yog and berries
L: Steak, Broccoli and Blue cheese
D: ham, cheese, apple

How often do you all weigh? I'm not sure if I should be weighing myself daily or not. I'm now 2lbs down since Wednesday.

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 14:41

Hi guys >>waves

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 14:46

Ps I was eating mainly potatoes, pasta, rice and toast till Sunday so fingers crossed I do see results sooner rather than later.

NibbleQueen · 14/08/2020 14:57

@TantricTwist hello! Snacks for me are usually smoked salmon and crudites, kimchi or Greek yog and berries. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a few pre-boiled eggs on hand!

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 15:05

Fab thanks @NibbleQueen I'll pop an extra greek yoghurt on my shopping list and yes boiled eggs of course great idea.

Cantteach · 14/08/2020 15:06

Help We're supposed to be having veggie bolognese from 800 recipe book which says it 207 call but I've put it into MFP and got 342! What do I do? It's Friday and I've made Ginger & parsnip traybake as a small weekend treat @ 151 call I could just about squeeze it in today but feel like I shouldn't anymore Sad Has anyone else had something like this happen?

Cantteach · 14/08/2020 15:06

And well done second you are the inspiration I need!

yumyumpoppycat · 14/08/2020 15:08

Hi tantric it's good to avoid snacking if poss to help with habits for maintenance (speaking as someone who totally failed at maintenance previously!) but I really like pecans as they are slightly sweet and crunchy - scarily calorific though. I think the fast800 recipe book recommends only snacking on veg - chopped raw pepper stuff like that.

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 15:25

Hi @yumyumpoppycat Thanks for the advice you're so right and thanks for the much needed reminder and luckily apart from the Emmental incident last night I've been ok so far, fingers crossed, re snacking other than sugar free ice pops from the freezer earlier this week.

I think I'm going to try to use cups of tea with a dash of milk (so my teeth don't stain) in place of snacks, if I can. I'm terrible with nuts and will scoff loads they've always been something I can't control annoyingly, too moorish.

Ps I'm someone who fails at maintenance too but hopefully when the time comes next time I'll hopefully have more tricks up my sleeve.

3kidsareenough · 14/08/2020 16:15

Brilliant justasecond love reading posts like these, as someone who is just starting out this week, it's gives me & dh great hope. Weighed this morning and have 4lbs off and DH has 5lbs off, we're both delighted. I know this is probably what happens at the start for most but it's really encouraging. Off out for today with the family and have my veggies, olives & egg & houmous with me 😎

yumyumpoppycat · 14/08/2020 16:16

Tantric I have tea with a splash of milk for the same reason, fingers crossed we will nail maintenance this time Smile

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 17:12

@Justasecondnow that's so amazing you've done all that in just 13 weeks and really inspiring to see each increment on your tally list.

I feel too overweight to get on the scales right now, the shock will be too much I fear, but the skirt I tried on last Saturday from which I was exploding out of and could barely zip up now fits more comfortably despite the muffin top. If I achieve what you have I'll be over the moon. I'll be watching your maintenance on 5:2 with interest to see what works best for you and hopefully then me once I get to where you are. Well done Star

TantricTwist · 14/08/2020 17:19

@yumyumpoppycat I have a strong feeling that we will do brilliantly, I'm sure of it.

outwest · 14/08/2020 20:04

Now within 0.5kg of goal weight. Trying to knuckle down for one last week. Sadly, today was great example of how easy it is to go off rails.

Breakfast the usual black coffee, just 2 kcals.

Wheels came off at lunch.
2.5 slices sourdough bread from excellent local baker - 313 kcals
Butter spread as thinly as poss - 148
Ham for one slice, 75g - 82
Cheese for other slice, 48g - 182
Add it all up and you get to 725, just for lunch! Frightening.

Did a bit of exercise this afternoon, but not enough to offset it to any degree. Only enough quota left at dinner for earthy mushroom and lentil soup, which was 185 kcals for a filling bowl. Closing kitchen at 912 for the day.

Must pick food more carefully. If had chosen a ham and cheese omelette for lunch instead, that would have been 340 kcals, would not have wrecked the day, and would have been no less sustaining than the bread...

Justasecondnow · 14/08/2020 21:52

Thanks all - and glad it’s been motivating for some of you. You can totally do it! And I’m gonna make an effort to keep it off - hopefully I can do that too!

Kimlek · 15/08/2020 06:16

@Cantteach happens loads unfortunately. Less so with the main recipe books but the original little paperback BSD book is shockingly out but don’t worry. Some days you’ll go a bit over done days a bit under. It’ll average out and it’s still lower than what you’d normally eat.
Huge congrats justasecond and nibbleQueen maintenance going well for me with no calorie counting but staying low carb and keeping my TRE noon-8pm.

Kimlek · 15/08/2020 06:25

@Flibbertyjibbit it’s entirely up to you how often you weigh. Some people find weighing daily demoralising if they don’t lose. Realistically you probably won’t lose every day and some weeks you’ll stall or gain so regardless of how often it’s really important to focus on the general trend. I weigh daily and did from the outset as I’m not great with weighing food or calorie counting so daily weights keep me in check BUT I don’t get too worried if I’m up a bit or static as I’m very aware of the fluctuations. I’m currently maintaining and within one week I can be 9.13 to 10.3 but the general trend is that I’m maintaining at 10ish. So whatever works for you and your mindset really!

NibbleQueen · 15/08/2020 08:09

Am still 1lb off goal, so congratulations may be premature! Finished yesterday at roughly 2k cals and 200g carbs so haven't weighed yet today 😂

Hoping with a bit more mindfulness over the weekend I'll be at goal by Monday... Though I'm off to waitrose today and will have to pick up another tub of frozen kefir 😋

DuckPancake · 15/08/2020 09:31

Hello all Smile

I have just finished reading the Fast 800 book and I have just 25kg to lose (about 3 and a half stone).

Going shopping for some Mediterranean essentials today... on my list is:

Eggs
Full fat milk/butter
Extra virgin olive oil
Fish
Porridge oats

Anything anyone recommends I add to my list?

DuckPancake · 15/08/2020 09:31

Just over*

yumyumpoppycat · 15/08/2020 09:48

Duckpancake I have to be honest I never make a meal plan but if you have time it might be worth working out your meals for a couple of days using the recipes. I would def gets bags of mixed salad or baby spinach, any other green veg you like, cheese, maybe Greek yogurt, meat if not vegetarian, possibly some plain nuts, maybe berries. Good luck with your first week!

Kimlek well done on maintenance!

Fingers crossed for your goals outwest and nibble sounds exciting to be so close!

I am not really eating perfectly but after 5 days I am approx 6lb down and need to lose 13.5 to get out of obese bmi.

TantricTwist · 15/08/2020 09:54

Morning. I seem to have extraordinary will power at the moment. I fell asleep with mild hunger pangs craving an apple but was too tired -lazy- to go downstairs to get one plus I told myself it had too many carbs despite the fact I was under 800 cals on 729. Also I thought if I start eating one thing then I might go into some kind of feeding frenzy.
I've woken up with the same mild hunger pangs but have no desire to eat, strange but true, and my body seems happy with a cup of tea.

So I'm waiting till my shopping gets delivered at 11 and then I'll have some greek yoghurt with mixed berries (that reminds me I have to take them out of the freezer)

@DuckPancake I have the same as you to lose. We can do it.
I went on my dusty elliptical trainer yesterday whilst watching Michael Moseley on the telly. I lasted 25 minutes, got very sweaty and my legs were very wobbly. I feel like I needed to do something to tone all the skin once I miraculously lose this weight. I usually just use it to hang clothes on to dry, pathetic really. Haven't been on it for months, my brain just refused to register it was even there for actual exercise. I could be super fit and slim if I'd actually bothered to use it.

Patchworksack · 15/08/2020 09:58

9st 3 today so half a stone lost in 6 weeks. Getting there slowly. Interim goal is 9 stone, but also want body fat below 30%.
