I was waiting for someone else to start it but had to take the plunge to tell you i just did my w5r3. I managed it but am hurting. Started off too quick and was wrecked 5 mins in but slowed it down - kept going and got to about 14 mins in when my ankles started really hurting - i kept on going anyway and was v relieved when raaawb said that was it - i then proceeed to hobble home - the bath is filling as i type and my ankles are painful but still that i did it.

Couldn't run today, DH called into work early and put DD2 napped for first time in ages so couldn't use my friends treadmill as didn't dare wake her.
Am going to go as soon as DH wakes tomorrow, he is at work until 10 though so god knows when that will be!

starapple · 02/06/2009 20:03

yay! wk1 down, will start wk2 tomorrow. I even went for a run at the weekend and took the buggy with ds. such a lovely thing to do on a sunny morning. lets see how wk2 grabs me...

starapple · 02/06/2009 20:04

go huff go!

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 03/06/2009 13:21

Haven't run since Saturday. Is my biggest gap since starting this.

Will either run this evening when DH gets back (although it will probably not be until 9 or 10 so may not) or tomorrow morning when DD is at pre-school.

Would appreciate being checked up on lol

JackBauer · 03/06/2009 14:07

I managed to get out today thanks to my lovely, gorgeous friend watching DD's for half an hour.
I was supposed to use her treadmill but have decided I am treadmmill challenged, they just frighten me!

I did wk4r1, with the 5 minute runs. I have abandoned raahbert and instead made a playlist of songs with the same length as the runs, but forgot that my last choice (ahem...Mr Vain...) is 5.45 long, and I made it to the end! stupidly pleased with myself!

JackBauer · 03/06/2009 14:10

Forgot to mention, for anyone lurking, I cannot believe that I have run for 5 minutes twice! I am a big girl, and not exactly fit, but it's baby steps and it is working.

I have also comfortably got into a pair of trousers that I couldn't sit down in as they were so tight, so have dropped a dress size, and am not eating any different! Awesome!

HuffwardlyRudge · 03/06/2009 19:28

Very true Jack. All my clothes fit better. People people telling me I'm looking good. And running for 5 minutes is not as hard as you think it will be!

Vulgar · 03/06/2009 20:13

Hi everyone - i'm back after 6 days away and no running. I re-did W5R2 today as I was too cowardly to do 25 mins after a break

I'm gonna do it on Friday or Saturday.

Chinwag - I did get the book and jolly good it is too but I must make an effort to fill in the running diary.

wow - so many of you have gone so far since I've been away. Well done all! I must catch up!

Am very that some of you are losing weight. I can't stop eating at the moment. I must find some willpower from somewhere and stop snacking.

and hello to all the newbies- you won't believe how quickly you will see improvements.

Happy running.

JackBauer · 03/06/2009 20:59

I know Huff, but it sounds horrific! Although I haven't lost a pound, which is a bit

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 03/06/2009 22:42

DH got back about 9 and then we watched the apprentice.

Will get dressed in running clothes tomorrow and go running. Promise.

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 04/06/2009 07:48

Am going to go running. In about 90 min time

canella · 04/06/2009 08:48

been out for w2r2 this morning - i'm so rubbish with even the slightest incline but on the flat i feel i could go longer than when rahhbert stops me!!

i like to run first thing in the morning mon/weds/fri when my ds's are at KiGa but i'm all on the wrong days this week!! next week will be as bad - i'll have to run in the evenings - might need some motivation from all of you to get out the house!!

i'm going to weigh myself tomorrow - i've been so good with food and all this running - those scales better be kind to me!!

lovelyrita - hope you've been out this morning - will check in later to see if you went!!

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 04/06/2009 10:25

I went

And it should have been a 25 min run (I did the week 6 one again as I like to have an idea of when things are going to happen) but at the end I decided to find out if I could keep going for 30 min. And I could

Also discovered a load of lakes near our house. As we've lived here for over 4 years feel a bit I hadn't found them before

Can't work out how far it was though as I ran on grass bits and can't remember exactly which way I went. Seems to have been about 2.5 miles which is about 12.2 min/mile. Am hoping I actually went further

TrillianAstra · 04/06/2009 10:51

W6R2 done here. Still don't think I can do R3 for 25 whole minutes without stopping.

Measured and calculated at 11.29 minutes/mile for first bit and 11.47 minutes per mile for the second one. It felt like I was going further than that!

Well done to Rita for doing actual long runs!

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 04/06/2009 11:15

I didn't think I could do 25 minutes when I did W6R2. Go on - I bet you can do it

TrillianAstra · 04/06/2009 11:17

Will try. Just for you. Not today though obviously.

Don't see how I'm going to be running 5k by the end of week 8 either, at current rates that would be a loooooooong run. Am I supposed to get faster?

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 04/06/2009 11:18

I don't understand how anyone can be doing 5k in 30 min. Well, getting faster would help but unless I can get jet rockets in my trainers, it isn't going to happen

canella · 04/06/2009 11:21

good on you lovely rita for going out!! supose it doesnt really matter how fast you go - its the fact that you're running for 30 mins thats the important part! well done!

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 04/06/2009 12:53

i so want to go running - it would be w6r2 tonight - ankle hurty today but i know it wont be if i take ibuprofen so could probably manage it but that would be mad wouldnt it? dont see physio till wed and itching to keep going as rfl is on the 14th !

I just did a 26 minute run (w7r1 in theory but I've given up on Rawb so am just upping my time to my own music).

The run itself was OK, but as soon as I got home I felt like I was about to be sick - not sure if it was because of being too hot or having not eaten beforehand.

My current pace is 11.27 minutes/mile

AitchTwoOh · 04/06/2009 13:42

i'm doing the bupa thing so today did 10mins times 2 with 2 mins walking (although did 12 on the last run as it happens).

it's my PACE, though... ffs it takes me 13 mins to run/walk a mile. (ten mins run, two walk, one run again).
