I was waiting for someone else to start it but had to take the plunge to tell you i just did my w5r3. I managed it but am hurting. Started off too quick and was wrecked 5 mins in but slowed it down - kept going and got to about 14 mins in when my ankles started really hurting - i kept on going anyway and was v relieved when raaawb said that was it - i then proceeed to hobble home - the bath is filling as i type and my ankles are painful but still that i did it.

oh must be something in the air then....i should and would have gone this morning but i got called into work to cover for sickness, then i got my hair cut and its the works xmas do tomorrow so i dont want to mess the hair up!

i will go on sunday though. and i will attempt the 25 min run. (i said attempt!)

giddyupRudolph · 12/12/2009 17:52

I think I might give up with the programme and just go for 20 minutes at a time, trying to go faster each time. When I can do it easily (ha!) then I'll move up to 25 minutes.

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 12/12/2009 23:34

well its really weird but its the first time in 6 weeks ive not followed the programme and missed a run, feels so odd.

im gonna try and go again tomorrow otherwise im afraid i wont do it again. i really am wishing i had someone to run with because my motivation is low and i could easily throw in the towel right now.

ill let you know how i get on tomorrow. rudolph if your disciplined enough to do that then try it - i know im not!

i did my run in the car today - im up to 1.8 miles.

I'm sitting on the sofa eating biscuits

I do mean to go out again, I'm going to aim for tomorrow. I think I needed a week off.

Hi girls

I hope you don't mind me intruding. I am just hopping over from the 'keep on running' thread to ask you all to consider joining us in a very special run on the weekend of 27/28 March 2010.

One of us, Twink, very recently lost her Dh to cancer. He was a dedicated runner, as is Twink. Before he passed away, we decided to arrange a fundraising event. I came up with the idea of a MN virtual Marathon relay - we all pledge distances to run on a particular weekend and raise money for Macmillan.

I have arranged the time to be 12 weeks after the new year - perfect timing to recruit people onto a 12 week couch to 5kprogramme. Would any of you like to join us?

I am going to ask MN as a whole in a week or so - but thought I would ask you fellow runs first.

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 15/12/2009 00:00

in theory im up for that....but id have to just ask about for sponsorship - i never seem to get very much in the way of sponsorship for things like this - ill ask at work who would be willing to sponsor me. id hate to say yes then raise a really pathetic amount! (which may well be the case....ive not got many peeps to ask)

ill put some feelers out.

how would it work popsycal?

giddyupRudolph · 31/12/2009 12:23

Have you been out since Vicar? I haven't, but DH has bought me some running gloves and an ipod pouch for Christmas so I'll feel guilty if I don't start running again.
