30 Day Shred

Anyone want to join me?
Yes I know it’s an oldie but I did it about 15 years ago and it was really effective.
I’ve just done day one and the weights and abs stuff weren’t too bad but the cardio nearly killed me, I’m more unfit than I realised.

Having said that, I have already changed my mind and I’m going to do Beginner Shred instead. I did the first ten days of it before my op with no ill effects, so it will be good to do the whole 30 days (though I only have 28 days before my holiday so will do 9 days of each of the three workouts).

I did 30 Day Shred over the summer holidays last year and put a reminder in my phone for this year. The kids come off on Thursday so I’ve started today.

Day 1, level 1 complete.

I am now a sweaty mess, glad it’s a bit cooler today.

I am now almost at the end of doing Workout 1 of the Beginner 30 Day Shred and have been really enjoying it. It’s low impact, so ideal for anyone just getting back into exercise, and at only 25 minutes including warm up and cool down is really easy to fit into your day. I like being in the company of Jillian, Anita and Natalie again 😁

One more session to go and I move on to Workout 2. Hope I enjoy that one as much!

It’s been very warm here and reminds me that it was this time last year I started doing the 30 Day Shred, followed by other Jillian workouts. Looking forward to doing the full fat Shred again!

Level 1, Day 7 complete
I went through the walking like a tin man stage last week and have come out the other side.

Glad to hear you are out of the other side of the tin man stage @TheHorrorsPersist and hope you are now skipping around like Dorothy 😄

I am on Workout 2 of the Beginner Shred and again finding it very enjoyable. I can ‘feel it’ the next day, but no ill effects so far so it is clearly very suitable for beginners or those recovering for injury/surgery like me. I like compound moves so it is right up my street and I think my waist is beginning to appear again!

I have done Workout 3 of the Beginner Shred for the first time and it kicked my butt, literally! More cardio than the previous two, more impact (although always with low impact options) and it’s probably a very good introduction to the full fat 30 Day Shred.

I will do this one all next week and will then take a break for my holiday in the last week of July. I’ll see how various bits of me hold up and decide on what’s next when I get back; I do know it will be Jillian though!

Week 4 of the summer holidays here.
Level 3 day 2 complete.
I have to modify a few of the jump moves but otherwise powering through 💪
Definitely putting it in my diary again for next summer.

Back from holiday and back to the Beginner Shred. Still not feeling ready for the full fat 30 Day Shred so repeating BS with heavier weights this time then see how I feel.

I’m also tentatively doing couch to 5k on the treadmill, but a very slow and spread out version!

Hi.
Just found this thread, I am massively pleased. I have done the Jillian Michael 30 Day shred on and off over the years. It is so effective.

I have been trying for the last few years to lose weight but instead I have been adding. I was scared/embarrassed to start the 30 Day Shred because I was so much bigger than previous years and i could no longer do some of the moves - jumping jacks i am looking at you!
But i took the plunge eventually. I have gradually gotten back into it.

I have always enjoyed the level 1 immensely and been bored by level 2 (i don't know why), so i usually do 30 Days of the level 1.
This time, after 30 days of the level 1 spread over almost 3 months! (post surgery, so it's been slow going) I am now doing the level 2. I will do it through the rest of August, then level three for September.
Not quite the 10days for each level as it was designed. But i am looking to do it longer term.
One day, i hope to look at the Full fat 30 day shred. One day.

After taking two weeks off I am back to do the final 5 days of level 3 (usually split the 30 days over 6 weeks). Then I’ll stick a reminder in my phone for summer 2027…

Halfway through level 2 of Beginner Shred now and going well with heavier weights.

Might have a sneaky look back at 30DS and see what I would be comfortable doing; feeling like I could attempt most of it now if I stick with the ‘easier’ options 😆

I had no major problems with it last year and I feel like I’m getting back to full fitness now I’m 5 months post-op.
