Hello

Lots of you have me advice when I joined a PureGym - I ordered clothes and stuff then got ill so didn’t go. Now better I have been attending and can report that is has been great. If you are considering joining I would absolutely recommend it. I have been helped by lots of different staff, done classes and use two different venues. Have found it all
very friendly and easy to engage with. Am just back from a session and feel great. Now I just have two ish stone to get rid of and some cardiovascular fitness to get back. 💪

Oh heck I hope your shoulder will be ok? Sounds strenuous.
I'm working today then have 3 gcs staying tonight. Dh is fab though so not difficult. I'll be home at 4ish so might take a walk to the beach? We live on the coast. Sea air should tire them?

BelgianBeers · 10/08/2025 23:36

That sounds like a magic evening. How lovely to have the coast and the grandchildren. Hope it went well.

I weighed myself and am now exactly as fat as I was before losing weight! Am going to be better for the last chunk of the hols! Hope your chia and exercise is keeping you on the straight and narrow.

I had a day off from chia yesterday but didn't overeat. Ate out for Sunday lunch then had friends over and they got Chinese. I ate half of mine and froze the rest.

I definitely need to do some exercise today.

Hope you have a good day.

Well today has been all walking and outdoor swimming - int he water for about an hour and feel great for it. Can only do breast/back stroke and slightly rubbish versions but was better in the water than I expected. It was a delight.

Wow well done! I've done bot all. A short walk on a day out. Had small fish and chips.

I really need to do some exercise tomorrow.
Funnily enough dh and I were talking about sea swimming again. Really tempted to do it soon.
Had the chia seeds with cinnamon and water this morning. That's helping curb my appetite.

Well I have been mainly up ladders and filling and sanding so ache in all sorts of places! Have done some yoga to keep going and have done quite a bit of walking. I have been reflecting though and my diet whilst making me fattish has been good and for the first time in decades I have stuck for a decent amount of time to having water rather than loads of diet drinks. I am drinking way less alcohol so that is a positive. Have booked a hold for next summer so maybe I need a whole year run up but I plan to be properly fit by then. Hope you are doing well .

I bet that's satisfying getting so much done.
I've done a 20 minute arm workout with weights and a 5 minute abs one. The abs one was called dead bug. Seems easy but supposed to be effective? I'll see after a few goes. Arms one was hard but I did it all. I felt much better afterwards.
Eaten well today and plenty of water. Well done on drinking more water yourself. I love it.

I go away at the beginning of September so not long left to tone up.

BelgianBeers · 16/08/2025 09:25

A fortnight then hols- sounds great. Hope you have a good time.

I will be more satisfied when I have finished! The prep is dull but I like the painting bit.

Yes be fab when you're finished.

My arms were aching yesterday and today. Only did the dead bug 5 minute video yesterday but it really works.

Ate ok ish.

Working a long shift today so won't get much done. But also won't eat much.

Have a good Sunday.

BelgianBeers · 20/08/2025 23:44

We’ll have eaten very well - too well but have done lots of yoga and went back for a big lake swim. Must have swam for an hour. Hope you are doing well.

That's a long swim for outdoors.

I'm doing ok. Am toning up well. Eating pretty healthily too.

BelgianBeers · 23/08/2025 11:29

Felt great at the time but arms were sore the next day! I used to be a competitive swimmer so can always swim well. Probably more reliable than my land activities.

Glad you are doing well. I am painting the cellar today - I figure that counts!

I was more thinking the cold?
I'm working today until 10. Going to a day festival tomorrow so be dancing for hours.

BelgianBeers · 23/08/2025 17:01

Oh festival fun sounds ace. Love a good dance. The water isn’t cold yet - well cold enough to make me get in slowly but lively and warm once you are swimming. Can’t handle it when it gets too chilly!

LushLemonTart · 23/08/2025 17:52

Oh that's good. Cold water swimming is so good for you.

BelgianBeers · 08/09/2025 12:45

How are you doing?

have returned to work and had a good week - stops me eating all day, been on a big hike (bigger than planned after getting lost) and been swimming in the reservoir. Managed quite a few laps before I got chilly. Have done yoga and am really focussing on that this week as want to keep up my flexibility. My planking has planked so focussing on that too.
