Reporting back after 1st gym visits in 20+ years

Hello

Lots of you have me advice when I joined a PureGym - I ordered clothes and stuff then got ill so didn’t go. Now better I have been attending and can report that is has been great. If you are considering joining I would absolutely recommend it. I have been helped by lots of different staff, done classes and use two different venues. Have found it all
very friendly and easy to engage with. Am just back from a session and feel great. Now I just have two ish stone to get rid of and some cardiovascular fitness to get back. 💪

How is fitness and food going? I have been doing ok. Have gardened today - have neglected the front and needed to get chopping. Fullest brown bins and am about half done. Am sore and stiff so will try to yoga it out. It’s just over a month to my peaks walk so - I need to get stuck in!

Hi. Been doing ok. Exercising and walking.

Although had a bad week as had a birthday. Friend staying and lasses night out. I was good having gins though.

Honestly since tracking here I realise I go out more than I thought! We had a birthday this weekend and I am away again all next weekend -gin will be a big feature there too! It’s genuinely hard to fit everything in and today I am like an horrifically sweaty mess. I mean if I actually lost some weight I might not be so hot!

Oh I've been terrible today. Eaten so much sweet stuff. Delicious cake. Finished off the with maltesers 🙈 I've been with people offering me such things. Their fault 🤣

Back to healthy tomorrow. I'm off work so exercise and a walk.

Love your photo @BelgianBeers . Nature is fantastic. I can't wait to get out tomorrow I don't care what the weather is like.

Had a hilly 7 mile walk by the coast yesterday. I can feel my legs today. Might get another walk in today. I'm not working until the weekend.

I confess no gym but plenty of activity and the enormous horrors spending hours cleaning as I try and remove fucking fleas from my house. It’s horrible! Little bastards! Off to hoover again…

I've had some long ish walks and been doing youtube fitness videos. Mainly over 50s ones and some with weights for arms. Some seated exercise videos are tougher than they look. I do videos standing too. I'm going away beginning of September so want to tone up for then. Plus I want to get stronger and leaner. It's harder as you age. I'm eating less too. Although was away last week so did eat more then but been pretty good this week.

I am a flea bitten disaster! I mean fewer fleas but after so much effort, boobs and baths and skin treatments. Oh and the washing… still I think the tide is turning. I tried yoga classes but somehow it just hurts my arm and I can’t do the transitions so spend half the session dithering. Stared back on the machines but fairly gently. I have had a win though but I’d sounds daft. At the start I gave up caffeinated coke drinks and I have stuck to this after decades of wigging liver a litre a day … I know🤦‍♀️. Anyway I just replaced it with Sprite type ones so now have ended all fizzy drinks apart from fizzy water and mixers when out. Amazingly I have stuck to this and in turn it will mean far fewer buys of crisps and other baddies as the popping for some cans invariably becomes something bigger. I mean small gains but…

Good luck with the tone up plan - as you say it is harder!

I've been out tonight. Real ale and malt whisky night. Healthy drinks really 😅

I haven't eaten too bad today. Tonight was a one off tbh.

How are you doing? I am scoring well on eating and have stayed off fizzy and have been gardening and decorating my arse off so plenty of sweat. The stoopid shoulder makes everything slower and more awkward but am getting things done .

I'm doing ok. Been exercising regularly and walking. Eating mostly healthy food. The scales aren't changing much but I'm toning.

I find it hard to tell! I feel like I am making better choices, eating better but am a long way from where I want to be! You know thin and springy.

evaluating my life and work I can see that I probably need to think long term. I am away again at the moment so eating out and no gym time but am having fun too…

That's good you're having fun.

I've been having chia seeds with cinnamon and hot water first thing. It keeps me full most of the day. I'm away tonight but will try to eat sensibly? Lots of walking tomorrow but that's after a full English at the pub. No chia when I'm away. I've lost a couple of pounds this week. Stomach are is smaller as have been doing fabulous50s videos. Plus some arm ones. They're toning up too.

Results! Sounds excellent. I woke up stiff as a board so have yoga and stretched my way back to not feeling 108. Chia is fabulous - I will try a full chia - I usually have them in yogurt with wheat germ. So delicious (especially with a dollop of lemon curd).

I had my chia drink before work. I wasn't hungry until after work. Dh made a lovely ceasar salad so had that for tea?
No exercise today apart from walking around at work and doing chores there. I'll try and motivate myself to do some later.

I have been away over night (six course tasting menu) and had a lot of drinks too but have a full day of ceiling painting today so feel like that is worth some credit on thr fitness scale - it’s also very tricky with my shoulder🤦‍♀️ so is taking longer than is ideal. Hope you are powering through
