Hello

Lots of you have me advice when I joined a PureGym - I ordered clothes and stuff then got ill so didn’t go. Now better I have been attending and can report that is has been great. If you are considering joining I would absolutely recommend it. I have been helped by lots of different staff, done classes and use two different venues. Have found it all
very friendly and easy to engage with. Am just back from a session and feel great. Now I just have two ish stone to get rid of and some cardiovascular fitness to get back. 💪

Sounds good. 7mins is a win.

a convert and a family meal sounds like a great week:)
yeah I have been a bit useless - I am feeling more human today though. Have just done some gentle yoga and need to crack back on later this week. I am a bit more bendy than I was - am taking any wins at this point!

Any exercise is good @BelgianBeers

I did the resistance bands squats and press ups today. Feel so much better afterwards. I'm hoping to have a good walk and do some yoga tomorrow. I'm not at work until the weekend.

BelgianBeers · 26/01/2025 01:39

Hope all is going well for everyone. I am 2lbs down so it’s a start but am away all weekend so no exercise but I am feeling g better so back to classes next week.

How is it going @bumblebee1000 , @LushLemonTart and anyone else who is trying to get back to being fitter or bendier or lighter (or ahem all three)? My week has been a bust - full of cold for most of it, couple of super late nights at work the. A meal and the theatre yesterday. Am going to go to the gym today and get a I visit on my stats for feb. I can’t do my Sunday class tomorrow as am off to see my parents and that’s a decent drive so need to get off early ish. Still have booked on wife Tuesday and will go on another night too. One the plus side am down to 12.9 which isn’t much but that is 3lb off rather than on…

Progress for you despite the cold....I seem to have pulled a muscle on right side of rib area after a very tough yoga class so havent been to gym since, this was thursday...lets see how the weekend goes and start again next week..!!

LushLemonTart · 01/02/2025 16:19

Well done @BelgianBeers . 3lb off is fab.

I haven't done much this week apart from walking. I've been suffering with weird headaches so taking it easy. Hopefully I'm better soon as going to the lakes midweek. Weather looks good Thursday so am hoping to get up a hill?

BelgianBeers · 01/02/2025 19:01

I love hills - happy walking @LushLemonTart. I want to do the Yorkshire three peaks this year but closer to summer. I will do them individually before then but would like to be fitter and thinner before doing the trio.

Hope your strain eases @bumblebee1000 - how unfair to injure yourself while in the pursuit of fitness!

Am at the gym now and it has occurred to me that I can use the one by the in-laws - ha ha that will be popular on visits!

@BelgianBeers my niece is doing the 3 peaks for charity this year. She's not much younger than me though. She's dh's sister's dd. She had her very young. I hope you get to do it. I've done a lot of long distance walks.

LushLemonTart · 02/02/2025 16:56

I hope you feel better soon @bumblebee1000

@bumblebee1000 that's good news

its returned...so didnt go gym, back to yoga tomw so will mention to teacher...have done some stretches at home...help a little...

BelgianBeers · 05/02/2025 20:36

@bumblebee1000 Oh your poor side - I hope the yoga helps.

An ironic side effect of my yoga was that the floor appeared to be further away than usual when I tried to bend🤦‍♀️ today.

OP posts:
LushLemonTart · 07/02/2025 00:16

That's a shame @bumblebee1000 . I hope it heals soon.

I walked up a fell today over 1400 feet total height and over 8 miles. That wouldn't have bothered me a year or so ago but my legs are very stiff already. Dh's are too. Son is in his 20s and it hasn't affected him.

BelgianBeers · 07/02/2025 18:37

@LushLemonTart I guess that is what we are fighting our bodies just having less omph. It has taken me days to recover from yoga! Still am down to 12.7 and feel less bloated. Will do a session on Saturday then try for a Sunday class if I can fit it in.

OP posts:
LushLemonTart · 07/02/2025 18:41

@BelgianBeers it's lack of practice with me. I'm going up another hill next week as back to lakes.

BelgianBeers · 07/02/2025 19:42

More hills can only be a good thing:)

OP posts:
LushLemonTart · 07/02/2025 21:05

Yes hills are good. I love them just need to get used to them again.

That is beautiful - absolutely magic. I haven’t done many in the Lakes but have been up some Welsh ones and the Yorkshire ones. Stunning. This is how I see weekends being spent more and more as the kids get older and I am less needed for lifts etc.

OP posts:
LushLemonTart · 08/02/2025 01:14

@BelgianBeers ,the weather was amazing for February. I'd love to see more of Wales. We're pretty close to Yorkshire so often there.

BelgianBeers · 08/02/2025 09:43

@LushLemonTart Good February weather is a blessing. I did Whernside last Feb and the weather was beautiful - love it when it’s so quiet. I went again in the Summer and it was like a city centre! I did stay in the lakes last summer and thought we would walk but my friend’s idea of a walk had changed and it no longer included uphill sections so I we had a nice, flat time but I did want to go back to do some hills. Eventually…

OP posts:
LushLemonTart · 08/02/2025 10:23

@BelgianBeers oh I try to avoid the lakes in the summer...bedlam. luckily there are nice walks near us.

Walking outside is so good for you mentally and physically. I've done youtube walking videos but not the same.

BelgianBeers · 08/02/2025 20:30

I agree - walking is good for body and soul. I joined a local walking group but am rarely free for their rambles - one day!
