Reporting back after 1st gym visits in 20+ years

Hello

Lots of you have me advice when I joined a PureGym - I ordered clothes and stuff then got ill so didn’t go. Now better I have been attending and can report that is has been great. If you are considering joining I would absolutely recommend it. I have been helped by lots of different staff, done classes and use two different venues. Have found it all
very friendly and easy to engage with. Am just back from a session and feel great. Now I just have two ish stone to get rid of and some cardiovascular fitness to get back. 💪

There'll be lighter nights soon that always helps with walks.
I'm on a long shift tomorrow so no walking.

Those light evenings are great although I like a nighttime walk over the fields in the moonlight. Won’t have one today as my legs and bums class has meant can hardly move today!

It's a great feeling isn't it can't beat those endorphins and rush of being active and doing something! I started back at the gym today having not gone since mid December and am so glad that I did 💪🏼💪🏼

@CorEckIsLike hope the endorphins are still there today:) I was back too late for yoga tonight so will do some at home - or I might just sleep on my rolled out mat.

I only managed a short session in gym, 30 mins as have been doing extra yoga to get a bit more flexible and less stiff.....hope to increase sessions over next few weeks...at least i am now ache free...!!

@LushLemonTart and @bumblebee1000 glad are getting in with it. I have been a disaster this week - ill household, knackered and unwell parent. Have done a lot driving and late night eating. Will
do better this next week- hopefully.

@BelgianBeers get well soon. I'm starting with dh's cold. His is really bad and chesty so hopefully I'll not get it as bad? I'm at work this afternoon but not a hard shift.

@LushLemonTart hope your cold is ok and avoiding your chest. I am actually the healthy one here but have been in nurse, cook and dog walker mode as they have shivered in beds. Am now busy doing coursework for a study module so am not allowed out until it is done!

Oh nooo the sexy sore throat - bad luck. Hope it clears quickly. It’s always so annoying how easily colds nobble us. I am doing a course to become a psychometric tester and access arranger so it’s about data, testing, validity and theories of intelligence. Interesting, but am very last minute so doing it all at once! Everytime I get up I do a squat and my depth is getting better!

There I was thinking I was like Mrs Gym Bunny just because I had been about 8 times before Christmas... ...then nothing!

I booked in one session with my lovely PT a couple of weeks ago and just fucking forgot!!! Sooo embarrassing 🙈

Was planing to go back this week, then got the peri period from HELL last night. Awake since 4am with cramps. "Sigh"

So am thinking will book in for the weekend and hope that's me with a renewed new year's gym habit.

I was so enjoying it too!
Along with the low carbing... which also went out the window with the festivities. Thanks very much Santa!!!

Can I join!!?!
I've just joined a gym and have been stressing all weekend about attending! Anyway I went tonight for a yoga class and loved it!
Now need to go and try out some cardio and weights!

I treated myself to new gym bags, posh shampoos and conditioners and nice smellies for after my workout shower!

Not much happening today. Visited mil in her home did some shopping and cooking. I'm at work tomorrow and usually walk a fair bit. I finish at 5 so will get some exercise in when I get home.

I have only managed more yoga....have a minor sore throat...and there is a norovirus outbreak at one sports centre i attend so avoiding that...we got messages advising us to use dettol on any mats, blocks etc we had brought to a session last week....!!

Ewwwww noro… yeah would be avoiding there for a bit. I have barely moved all week as have been sat typing away. On the plus side will be done by Sunday. Two more sections to do. I have a schedule to make so last night didn’t go to bed until 4am as had to finish so haven’t really been lazy - just had a lot to do! Have not eaten well as husband keeps bringing tiny me treats…and I keep eating them. On the plus side have missed the gym. Hope you are all doing better

I got lots of steps in last night whilst watching the Dog house 😅. I had walked a fair bit with work but thought I'll walk around the living room whilst watching tv. Dh was at work so he wasn't a distraction. Got my steps in. I did arm exercises at the same time.
