Third year for me aiming to be as active as possible most days. So join me in setting a goal and keeping on track by logging on here Smile. I’ve set a 500mile run target this year to be realistic as I’ve nursed foot issues most of 2021 which really curtailed my running miles but sea swimming and trail running have developed into my passions. What’s your challenge this year?

2.6km swum this morning - good and bad. Slow lady who never lets anyone past at the end of the lane was present so forever overtaking. But she got out 10 mins before the end and I managed to do some 100m sets off 1:50 with a decent amount of rest so fitness is coming back already.

10km total swum now
Running on the back burner for a while

Another glorious walk, starting from the same spot but taking a completely different route. DH is very good at planning out walks using the myriad of paths in that area. 14.8km
652.9 walked
40 rowed

drspouse · 16/04/2021 16:52

13k bike finally, feel much better today though still sneezing a bit.

SSwimCycle21 · 16/04/2021 21:29

Got in the pool tonight had a good swim with only 3 of us in a double width lane.

Running 262km
Swimming 13.8km
Cycling 494km

Ringsender2 · 17/04/2021 20:51

I ran 44.7 km today (well, 2 km walked from that) and finished it with a short splash around in the sea. I'm knackered!

ErrolTheDragon · 17/04/2021 22:41

I should think you are!

TheLongRider · 17/04/2021 22:46

100km for me today around parts of County Dublin. Lovely Spring day, pity about the headwind on the way home.

Bloody bell @Ringsender2 of course you’re knackered! Well done.

tizwozliz · 18/04/2021 11:09

2.85km swim this morning. The one good thing about the pandemic is there are a lot more lane sessions at the weekend.

12.85 total swimming

SSwimCycle21 · 18/04/2021 16:31

Crikey you guys all do such vast distances... makes my 28k bike ride this morning seem tiny Grin it was hilly though...

Running 262km
Swimming 13.8km
Cycling 522km

ErrolTheDragon · 18/04/2021 16:52

8km along the canal this afternoon

660.9 walked
40 rowed

TheLongRider · 18/04/2021 17:17

258km cycling and walking this week. I hope to a 200km ride next weekend. Weather and my legs permitting!

All exercise counts!

I really like the wide range of personal targets and modes of reaching them on this thread. Smile

Yes, me too . Lovely 7 .5k walk this afternoon while the rest of the family listening to F1. 234k walked
drspouse · 18/04/2021 18:38

17K bike ride but DS was being awful and DD moaning so a lot of it was messing around, getting cold and getting hit with a stick.

Run1000km2021 · 18/04/2021 20:41

@Ringsender2 you total legend!!! Well done!!!

Can’t remember when I last updated but loads of running over the last week, yearly total now 655km👍

SarahGel3 · 18/04/2021 23:53

17.1km ran this week and 30.7km walked. Managed 3 runs this week. Almost able to run 6km now! Nothing compared to most on here but I've just started running in February

654.1km walked
84km ran
49.7 Cycled
787.8km/2021

Totally agree! It's a buzz in itself to just be out and about at whatever level our bodies and schedules permit. Saturday was glorious - all sparkly sunshine and fresh air. @TheLongRider I feel you on the headwind. My last 1/3 was from city centre to Colliemore Harbour down the coast. Properly killed my tired little legs!
Ringsender2 · 19/04/2021 02:15

@SarahGel3 that's loads for the year so far, well done. I started running at the start of January and only just managed to squeak out my first 5k towards the end of Feb (before a significant birthday Wink), so you'll be doing longer distances (if you want to!) all the time. I think starting up (running for 60 seconds!), then doing a full 5k were the hardest bits. Once you've got that level of fitness, you can just keep going for a bit longer each time.

SarahGel3 · 19/04/2021 07:03

@Ringsender2 I started with two 3k runs each week. My last run was 5.9k so I should be able to do 6k this week! Aiming to be able to run a 10k by the end of the year

Ringsender2 · 19/04/2021 10:04

@SarahGel3 - that's brilliant. I'd say you'll be running 10km in 6 weeks, never mind by the end of the year.

SSwimCycle21 · 19/04/2021 14:30

Nice to cycle to the pool over lunchtime and have a lane swim.

Running 262km
Swimming 14.8km
Cycling 527km

tizwozliz · 19/04/2021 15:07

I'd love to cycle to the pool but I wouldn't trust that my bike would still be there when I got out

SSwimCycle21 · 19/04/2021 16:00

I did have two locks on it but it’s a relatively safe place Smile shame that you can’t cycle though tiz and the sense of entitlement others have to just take things that don’t belong to them Sad

ErrolTheDragon · 19/04/2021 19:31

Up to the country park atop a hill - we've not been there since the 'tier' system, at which point it was impossible to park. But quiet today, under a cloudless sky.
