Third year for me aiming to be as active as possible most days. So join me in setting a goal and keeping on track by logging on here Smile. I’ve set a 500mile run target this year to be realistic as I’ve nursed foot issues most of 2021 which really curtailed my running miles but sea swimming and trail running have developed into my passions. What’s your challenge this year?

8.8k today because we had a flat tyre and I had to do all of DS school run on foot (plus DD needed to go out). They are both comatose now and I feel it.

Brew but at least you get to log that distance!
drspouse · 29/01/2021 20:20

I do! I'm getting very close to 100k, will easily pass it by the end of the month.

TriSeaSwim2021 · 29/01/2021 21:55

A Hitt workout this morning and a seaswim at sunset to ice the legs.

Thanks @TriSeaSwim2021 I’m going to give fueling a go on my next half run! Appreciate your insight Smile

10km yesterday for me - enjoying my new shoe but my toes hurt! That’s new.

225.6km/2021km - 10% done... which makes it feel like a big hill to climb, but hey ho.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/01/2021 15:17

A bracing 8.9 km today, rewarded at the far end by unexpectedly early daffs in the churchyard.

134.8 walked
21.5 rowed

@Weneedmusicandtheatre well done.

Lovely snowdrops on my dog walk with DS but no daffodils here yet. And definitely no sea swimming. There are lots of warnings and video clips of insane waves.

11k dog walking and a cold, wet, windy 10K

Running 102/898

I'm on 98.8 k now!

LaLaLanded · 31/01/2021 04:32

10.5km yesterday on the treadmill. I should be doing a longer run (15-20, don’t think I’ll make a half marathon given my left toe feels like I dropped something on it) today so I’m going to just mention it here, as my own bit of pressure, so I can’t wriggle out of it.

I’m lying in bed slightly giddy with excitement... I’m heading out for a 10km shortly after work which I will have completed 100 miles for the month (!!!!!!!!). This will be the most I’ve ever run in a month😱😱😱

Hahaha @ErrolTheDragon I might!!! In my mind I’m building up a bit of a buffer though for when I fall if the running wagon later this year😂😂😂😂

Ps I just did it!!!!!! 100 miles in the bag!!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 31/01/2021 10:28

It's true that life can throw our plans - mine last year went awry because of our old dog mainly, but for others obviously it's injury or illness. So building up a buffer while you can is definitely a good idea - and if all goes well then it's always nice to do more.Grin

Well done @Run1000km2021a great achievement and your excitement is infectious! 100 miles in a month is a big milestone Flowers

Finished off Jan with 17km this morning. Beautiful running along the Thames path for much of it, but my hands were frozen at the end, even with gloves on. Now off to take DS for a walk after a hot shower and cramming down some lunch!

Oh wow well done everyone!!! Love this thread!!!

drspouse · 31/01/2021 16:47

6.2 very cold km with two very cold DCs and a very cold DH. Saw some lovely birds though. Shelducks and a cormorant, about 5 pairs of swans. All on the canal (which is v close to the sea). Now up to 105km.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/02/2021 14:49

Although it's still quite cold here, the wind has dropped and the sun came out along with singing birds - feeling almost spring-like. In fact, apparently today is Imbolc , a Gaelic festival marking the start of spring midway between the winter solstice and the vernal equinox. (Theres a photo in The Times of a woman doing something mystic with Glastonbury Tor behind her, I don't really know quite that much esoteric stuff!Grin)

11.8 km. we got to a place marked on the map as some sort of civil war monument, in reality a rough and undistinguished bit of grassland behind an Aldi.

156.3 walked
21.5 rowed

TriSeaSwim2021 · 01/02/2021 15:11

Winter running goal nailed this morning Smile HM done Yah! Still need to do my virtual half in 2weeks time but they have changed the rules due to lock down with flexi in how we record that one so I thought I would just nail it in one go this morning. 10 mins Slower than planned but legs were heavy & tired when I set off. So I can try again in 2wks or split that run over two days.

amysaurus87 · 01/02/2021 17:59

22.55 miles of walking done this week! It's slowly getting better. My ankle is feeling better so I'm hoping to start Couch to 5k this month!

Walking: 90.34/1409.66
Running: 0/50

drspouse · 01/02/2021 19:47

Another 3k just to a) get out of the house and b) drop off some recycling.

Run1000km2021 · 01/02/2021 21:50

Wow @TriSeaSwim99 well done on the half!!!

Glad your ankle is feeling better @amysaurus87

No running for me today, a rest day after a month of heavy running. Hopefully getting one in tomorrow!
